We noticed this little guy wasn't gaining any weight and he seemed to be more lethargic than usual. We brought him in after our vet suggested them. They took such great care of our baby Seamus. He is recovering well and we are grateful for their skill, caring, and attention to detail. Thank you so much for you loving care of our sweet baby boy. Seamus sends his best!

I experienced the utmost kindness through a difficult time. The facility is nice, appears thoughtfully laid out, and clean. Coffee machine in the waiting area is a nice touch.

Don't take your pet there, they don't care about animals life. They only care about money.

I set up an appointment for 9 am and was running about 10 minutes late coming from eastern Colorado. I called the vet on my way there to notify that I was going to be about 10 to 15 minutes late and asked if they could still see My dog. The receptionist on the phone said yeah that won’t be a problem bring them on in so after 45 minutes in the car one way I get there about 9:16 like I said and then the receptionist said I was too late and I have to reschedule. I said I just called and asked and you said I could be seen today. The receptionist said well it’s 916 if it was 915 we could have seen you. I understand having to reschedule as a client because you’re late I’m not upset about that what I’m upset about is the fact that I called and asked they said it would be fine and then they told me that I would have to reschedule anyways. So not only did I get lied too I was treated as if I didn’t notify anyone and I shouldn’t have expected to see anyone being that late. A good vet clinic would’ve worked with me squeezed me in between clients I was only there for a single vaccine that would’ve taken about two minutes to administer. This vet has lost my business forever I will never go back to this place they’re liars cheaters and rude. My animal deserves better. If I could give zero stars I would.

When no one listens, there is always Google. . .Hello Google, I had a terrible experience with the Specialty Clinic at Alameda East. My cat was referred for a biopsy with an internal medicine specialist. Her vet suspects cancer and offered me the option to get her tested. To get results we must refrain from giving her life sustaining medication until the biopsy. We waited 2 weeks and the cat because so ill, it appeared she was dying. I received a call the day prior to her appointment and was informed that the staff set her up with the wrong specialist so I would need to wait until the 29th to bring her in. I explained that the cat would die if I waited without proper medication to keep her alive. My plea was ignored, and I was asked to bring the cat in when they had the next opening. I asked them how that would work if the cat was dead and was simply told that that was the only option for scheduling. They had the audacity to send me an email "to confirm your appointment". They also had the audacity to ask me to bring the cat into their emergency department for treatment. I brought the cat to my own vet for emergency treatment instead, why? BECAUSE: Four years ago, I brought another cat into their emergency room for acute pancreatitis and the cat was having bloody stools and vomiting in their clinic. They made us wait 4 hours for "help" only to receive assistance from an inexperienced veterinarian and inexperienced staff that were unable to address the issue to its full extent. Fortunately, I was able to get this animal into her regular veterinarian for appropriate treatment that following day and the cat survived. I was not wanting to go to Alameda East for my cat but thought perhaps; their Specialty Clinic might be better than their Emergency Clinic, but I was completely mistaken.

I had written a review earlier about our visit that didn't go all that well. Tiffany got right back to me and actually refunded me some of the cost as she agreed with me. So much appreciated! Thanks for doing the right thing, we will revisit.

While the reason for my visit was the worst thing I've been through in a very long time the staff was some of the most amazing people, and I'm incredibly happy that they were able to help my old girl.

Found this cat in my engine Bay 12/03/2021 Cat seemed to be OK no major injuries looked a little skinny and cold. Took the cat to this location to make sure he had no major injuries when there looked him over seemed to be moving and still friendly I told them that if the cat didn't have an owner I would like to adopt him. I've contacted the location several times they said they can give me no information about the cat or whether he was chipped and made it home. They said the only thing I can do is contact the AURORA animal shelter spoke to a AURORA animal shelter twice back-and-forth through email with pictures and still don't know what happened or where the cat is now.

They do not care about your animal. If your animal is in pain or sick, they will not move anymore urgently. They will lie to you to get you to come in so they can charge you astronomical prices. VCA Alameda East lacks integrity, consistency, and/or any level of care for animals. If you are thinking about taking an animal here, turn around and run.

My guinea pig had her eye removed at another vet clinic, but after a few issues we had with them from leaving a stitch in her eye and Almada east had been amazing from helping take the stich out of her eye to finding Dr Jessie Holley. We fell in her care when her eye swelled up and since than I would not trust anyone but the vet tech team and Dr Jessie Holley with my guinea pigs.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. They saved my puppies life and cared for him like their own! Debbie was a huge help and was so responsive to all my questions and needs. This was a tough experience to go through but they made it 10 times easier. Can’t say enough good things highly recommend! Thanks again VCA!

Serious lack of urgency for an emergency vet hospital. It took them over 20 minutes to even get my dog in the door, the front desk staff was too busy chit chatting amongst each other. Than finally once i get in the exam room, they take my dog to the back to exam him, i hear him yelping in the back repeatedly. I ask what is going on and why he is yelping, they give me an attitude and dont even answer my question. $300 later, my traumatized dog, and really no major solution or outcome. Highly recommend not bringing your dog here....this place used to be completely awesome but must say they definitely arent anywhere u wanna take your fur babies.

The staff at VCA Alameda East are so kind and thoughtful, they were very accommodating and compassionate when I came in with an emergency late at night. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much VCA!!

My nine y/o German Boxer had been licking on his foot so I checked it out and found a pinky sized inflamed hole. I called his vet and they said bring him in, but I decided to call Alameda East because they are just down the street, and they confirmed, "bring him in." I brought him to that hospital, where we waited in the parking lot for ten minutes without being noticed, so we walked inside and they instructed us to wait for a phone call to finish checking him in - we did. Ten minutes later we received the phone call and finished checking him in. We were told a veterinarian assistant would be out to bring him into the hospital. Ten minutes later, an assistant did come out, but only to tell us they were diverting us to another hospital. Something they could have told us when we got there. My opinion, they care about pets, but not as much as they care about money. They put money first and foremost. Rather than telling us over the phone that they're busy and we should seek help elsewhere, Alameda East wasted our time and put my dog through unnecessary stress. Will never rely on them again, and suggest you do the same.

My cat has been sick for over a year and one of the very nice doctors that's in the office every once in a while has been kindly helping me figure out what's wrong. However thier staff need to get it together. I dropped a stool sample off the other day and I never received a bill. The next day I called and a young girl who sounded new had no idea what do to for me. She said I'd eventually get a bill. Never happened. 3 days pass so I called and spoke to Portia at the front desk. She is rude and would rather speak over me and argue than hear my concerns. She said they never sent it because I never paid. I explained I've been waiting for them to send the payment link and I was concerned I'd need to drop a new sample off because it may not be good anymore. I cant believe they would drop the ball on me like this and have no accountability. Portia basically said it's my fault because never paid, but here I am calling to get the link to pay multiple times! So she went and asked the technician and come to find out they DID send it out! She just really wanted to argue for no reason. I'm concerned for their business and for other customers. I hope they take their animal care seriously and consider my situation. I hope this never happens to anyone else.

We went for urgent care around 9PM, we got home at 12:30 AM. I realize that like everyone they are short staffed but it was awful! Our puppy had an abscess, high fever etc. not only did they not give her anything while we waited after the doc saw her for an hour the Vet did not express it!! We had to take her to her vet the next day. Our Vet could not believe they did do it then and also couldn't believe they didn't give her a shot for pain and fever while we waited forever to check out! They sent us home with antibiotics and IB profen which was good. It was an awful experience. We had taken our other dog there for years, they have gone way down in all areas. Very disappointing!

If youre reading this before taking your animal here LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS. I regret not doing so myself. Customer service was horrible. Didn’t tell me the wait was 4-5 hours long until I had already driven there and filled out the paperwork. I brought my dog here after she cut her leg open pretty badly and likely needed stitches. I called the hospital to check-in about an hour after leaving and they assured me multiple times her leg had been wrapped and that she had a tech by her side. They also told me it would be about 2-3 hours longer at this point. I decided to pick my dog up and bring her somewhere else after feeling like their communication was lacking. When I got there to pick her up, they put me on hold for 20 minutes for no reason. I finally got them on the phone and when they brought her out, her leg was unwrapped - they left it like that for hours and let her lick it more raw so I doubt someone was watching her either. The tech also didn’t bring out her leash, proceeded to go back inside and bring out the incorrect leash and get snotty with me about it like it was somehow my fault....never going here again. Took my dog to Veterinarian Emergency Group and they saw me within 10 minutes, gave me an itemized list of what they would do and the price, and let me stay with my dog while we waited. AVOID VCA ALAMEDA EAST ????

I have been going to Alameda East for over 20 years and Dr Fitzgerald, his team, Dr Kopf, her team, and other doctors that I have encountered are all amazing and have taken care of not only my two shih tzus but also our family. 5 years ago my fur son Oreo had been diagnosed with cancer and Dr. Skope who is simply the best, has a gift of being honest with you with understanding your feelings and has empathy. Dr Fitzgerald took wonderful care of both of my boys with true heartfelt care and unbelievable knowledge that he has gained throughout his career. Dr. Kopf is an amazing neurologist who also has a gift of being honest with you along with an understanding of your feelings. Almost a month ago now, we went to Alameda East once again as my other fur son Koko had a stroke and passed away. The whole team at Alameda East doctors, nurses, even the front office agents took care of us through the whole process. When we are ready to have another puppy I will only trust Alameda East for the care, comfort, compassion & knowledge they have for animals and the pet parents.

VCA Alameda East is GREAT, if I could give them more than 5 stars I would. We have been bringing our dog here for the past 6 years, and we can always trust them, they take great care of our senior dog, she has arthritis and hips/back leg issues and their team of veterinaries have done The best job at keeping her as healthy as possible. Even during COVID times their ER services are very responsive and reliable. Our dog was attacked by another dog and they saved our little girls life, I highly recommend doctor Binkerd, she is the sweetest most amazing professional, she has given our dog the best care and us peace of mind, and doctor Kettig has also done an amazing job, thank you so much to both of you, we cannot express how much we appreciate the job you girls have done. We’ve had to visit their ER twice a week for almost a month now and their services are the best, the technicians are all very caring and sweet. I cannot recommend this place enough!

This place is a DISASTER! I had heard horror stories but my little guy sliced his back paw on a Saturday and everywhere else I called couldn’t see him. We go in and they do weight and such and then we wait to be seen... and wait... and wait... 72 minutes later a vet walks in and does full exam and says they have to sedat him to put in two stitches and she will bring me an estimate. She comes out with over a $600 estimate. I tell her that’s insane and we will wait and try to go to another vet. She tells me she is going to the back to check other options. Comes back and says they can staple it for $250 or do a similar thing to the initial for $360 plus meds. Seriously? I question something and the price drops 40%? I should have left. But I didn’t. They tell me it will take 2-4 hours depending on urgent cases that come in. I try to call at 4 hour mark and their phones are down. Try again at 5 hours- down. 6.5 hours later I reach someone and they say the doctor will call me. She calls and says he’s done and is ready to go in an hour. I get there in an hour and sit in my car for thirty minutes with ZERO response. I finally go inside and tell them “you told me an hour! I have already paid for everything and been given my instructions. I just want my dog!” And here I sit... still waiting... 45 minutes... no dog yet... I am FUMING!!

Been going to VCA Alameda East for years as they are close to our home. Unfortunately the quality of their service has diminished significantly over the years. Today we brought in our 19 year old cat who clearly had a urine infection. They didn't have any same day appointment so they forced us to make an emergency visit. My wife arrived at 1pm, I came and relieved her at 4pm, still hadn't been seen. Saw the vet finally at 4:30pm. Left our cat with them so they could get a UA sample. Didn't get a phone call by 7:30pm so started calling and bugging. Returned at 8pm to pick up the poor cat but they didn't release her till 9pm. 8 hours for a simple UTI. I tried to refuse the emergency fee saying that if they wanted the fee they should have acted like it was an emergency. No luck, $460 for a UTI. BTW, they handed her back to us in her crate soaked in urine.

Last week, my precious puppy was scheduled for an ultrasound with Dr. LaQuaglia for a possible liver shunt. After being on hold for 20 minutes to check her in, I finally flagged down someone and asked about my appointment. I got checked in, and was called in soon after. Dr. LaQuaglia was through, and presented me options for treatment. She also decided to not do an ultrasound as it would potentially not show the shunt; she instead recommended we do a CT scan. I said that would be great, and they scheduled it for the following week. Cue to today. I should start by saying that I live near Boulder, CO. Anyone who has lived in Colorado long enough will tell you that driving from Boulder to the Denver/Aurora border is an absolute nightmare during rush hour.So after driving for an hour and a half, I finally arrive at Alameda East. I check in, and am then sent to my car to wait for my puppy to go back. It is important to note that she had to fast for this appointment, and since she is only six months old, it is extremely difficult for her to go without food. Five minutes go by, and I am greeted by a nurse who tells me that my appointment has been canceled because the doctor has called out. I understand stuff like this happens, but then she told me that the doctor had called out at six this morning. What I don’t understand is why they were not courteous enough to call and let me know that my puppy’s appointment had been canceled, when they knew the doctor wasn’t gonna be in at six this morning. To say I am mad is a complete understatement. They told me they would be able to reschedule for next week, but my puppy’s situation is rather urgent, so I decided to go with another clinic who was able to book me in, in two days. Alameda East also quoted me between $2600-$3000 for this CT scan; so imagine my surprise, when today I called a clinic near me that only quoted $1500 for the CT scan and consultation. The only reason they are getting two stars, is because Dr. LaQuaglia is extremely knowledgeable, and was able to present to me all of my available options. I will not be going back, and I highly recommend you read the reviews before you go. They are also extremely overpriced, as some of the other treatment options we discussed, I could find for half the price at other emergency vets in the area. EDIT: I talked to Tiffany today who made the situation right, and promised me they will be working on their communication.

Dr.Alexandra Pardo is absolutely the best! She gave us the beat care she could for our precious boy and she was stuck a comfort through the the entire process from options, payments and sadly eventual euthanasia. While it was the most devastating thing, she really helped us though every aspect! She is truly one in a million and someone who I want to take care of all of my fur babies! Also shout out to Portia and Alyssa at the front desk they where amazing to our family Thankyou for making smelting so hard a little bit easier!!!♥️

I recently had to put down my hamster. It was definitely a heartbreaking moment and my emotions were everywhere. But they did their best given the circumstances and showed that they cared about my little buddy as much as they could during that time. If you’re having a pet medical emergency, I would personally recommend going here

We've been taking our pets here for 15 plus years and they are great at what they do. The facilities are great and I appreciate the 24 hour emergency services they provide, which have come in handy on several occasions. It's always hard to loose a pet but both times we've been here for end of life services the staff handled the situation with grace and were very comforting.

I just want to thank VCA Alameda East, Dr. Malishkin, and all the emergency staff that helped me with my puppy Mazie, 8/19-8/20. I called them in a panic multiple times as my puppy was lethargic and vomiting continuously. I reached out from Fairplay, CO and drove to Denver and letting them know when I was coming! They were reassuring, immensely helpful as I went through EVERY, possible thing she may have gotten into in the past few days. They were patient, calming and always spent time answering my questions and concerns!!. The receptionist even went to check on Mazie when I hadn't heard anything...... It was a rough night as my Dr. had to interrupt our call to assist with a pt. emergency!! She called back and said I am all yours now, as she listened to my scattered "google" thoughts about what was going on with my puppy! I was so relieved to know she was in great hands all night and I was constantly apprised of costs and the benefits and necessity of each and every test they could provide! This was the second time as they helped me with my older lab Molly a couple of years ago!! I just felt the need to say Thank you and let them know what a wonderful job they did with Mazie!! Of course, she is doing great and made me look crazy!! Thank you !!
