Highly do not recommend this place. My cat has a still-unresolved and uncomfortable issue that has not been identified or addressed properly by this office. We saw the owner and vet who lacked the proper empathy and care for our cat. We are now having to start at step 1 with another veterinarian practice after my cat has suffered months of poor quality of life. This office will recommend expensive medicine to resolve an issue that will not work and will be generally uncomfortable for your cat while also not admitting fault. They will then likely forget to call you back when they said they would and refuse to refund you for any unnecessary medications or tests. Don’t waste your time.

Love highlands animal clinic. They’ve been my vet for three years and have taken great care of my pup ever since she was a baby.

Started taking my two dogs and cat in about a year ago and I have nothing but great things to say! While scheduling is a bit far out (as it is in all health care right now- animal and human) the front desk has worked with me to get them in quicker through same day appointments and drop off appointments for more urgent matters. The staff is very knowledgeable and it is evident how much they care about the animals.

Brought my 2 year old pup in for a sick visit today and was thoroughly impressed. The vet tech and Dr Anderson were extremely attentive and made sure my little guy was comfortable. Dr Anderson sat on the floor with him during the entire examination. Warmed my heart to see the extra steps they take to care for my dog. The doc provided me with a wealth of information and took the time to answer all of my questions. If you are looking for top quality veterinarian care, Highlands Animal Clinic is the spot to go.

Dr. Dredla took time out of his busy schedule and lunch hour to see my dog when my brother was watching him and became concerned by his behavior. Both the doctors and supporting staff at Highlands Animal Clinic are personable, supportive, and truly care about the animals brought to their office. I don’t plan on going anywhere else for my veterinary needs.

Emergency vet visit. ???? I was allowed to enter with my vaccination card and sit with Jett during the scariest parts. ♡ Super friendly vet and technicians as well as front desk. I cannot commend them enough in a scary pet situation. Highlands called the next day to check on Jett. ????❤

While slightly cheaper than other vets in the Lodo/Highland area, you will struggle severely to get your pet seen. I booked my pup’s first appointment almost two months out, and days before the appointment was told that it needed to be rescheduled another week out. Now, my dog is very sick (potentially kennel cough) and have been told to try urgent care. I had called in the previous week and was told to hold off until Monday and call for a “same day sick” appointment right at 7am. When I called slightly after 7, everything had been taken. You’d think that calling in the week prior to express pressing concerns, they might be willing to hold a same day sick appointment. It is extremely disheartening and frustrating that the staff you trust your pet to, seem to have zero empathy or will to squeeze you in when they need it most. Your pet is just a number and some cash. I was able to call my previous vet in the area and make a same-day appointment and immediately felt the care and overall want to help a sick animal - that’s what you should feel. If you are looking for reliability, care, and availability, this is not the place for you. If you have any urgent health scares, you’ll be directed to deal with them externally. They should be sufficient for annual check ups so long as your appointments aren’t canceled days before. The issue is not with the vets at this practice, as they seemed to do a good job. They have a lot of work to do operationally and likely some staffing changes to address.

This is the best bet clinic ive ever been to in my life. I’ve been a client with my fur babies for over two years now. They are the most supportive, patient, kind, caring, nurturing, beautiful people I’ve ever encountered at any office visit, for me and for my pets. Thank you all for being the best care-givers you can possibly be, everyday!

After taking my dog here for his entire life (7 years) we finally had an issue that was cause for some concern. Upon bringing my dog in I was told the issue “was not an infection, was not a cyst, but may be a tumor” - this diagnosis was met with a “wait and see” approach without any actual recommendations for how to help the issue or what to do should the problem persist. As the issue continued to get worse over the next 7-10 days I called back the clinic to report the concern. Despite seeing my dog recently and knowing that there was an issue they simply downplayed the concern and offered to book him out a new appointment 2-3 weeks down the road without yet again any recommendation for how to help the problem in the meantime. The first time I took him it it was evident and noted that this problem was causing my dog significant pain and discomfort and he was favoring/licking the paw constantly. After yet again reporting this was still on-going there was no urgency to help the problem and I was made to feel as though I was in the wrong for reporting this issue and continuing to follow up on it. After the first visit there was no follow up call to check in to see how things were going or if the problem was getting better what so ever. I have referred many people to this practice and have been an extremely loyal customer myself for years on end. It is highly unfortunate that I now feel as though I need to take my business elsewhere and that the care my dog had received consistently for years on end was no long available at this location.

AMAZING vet clinic. Every staff member we've had interactions with has been super pleasant, friendly, and professional. We can usually just call for anything and they're ready to help you out. I have to give a big shout out to Dr. Dredla, he is absolutely amazing with our dog, Lemy. This is definitely our favorite vet clinic. If you are looking for a new vet place to go to, I would definitely recommend this place. They will take care of your pet and give them lots of love and professional care. LOVE, love this place.

Came recommended so maybe they are great. But after receiving an email confirming my appointment with a specific vet, arrived and they said they had no record of it and couldn't take him at all (even a reschedule). I could have saved time and booked somewhere else to make sure my puppy had his puppy check up, instead of waiting the 3 weeks for this non appointment.

I'm very disappointed by my latest visit to this clinic. I'm not sure they really value their customers. I have been going here for the last 2+ years with my dog. It has always seemed overly priced, but I felt that the care was good and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, this was not my experience last week. Last week I was running 5 mins late and I called to inform the office that I was running late for my 12pm appointment due to the traffic/road work on Federal and was just a block or so away from the office. The person I spoke to told me to hold a second and by the time she got back on the phone, I was parked in front of the office (12:06 pm). She told me unfortunately because I was "so late" to my appointment that we'd have to reschedule. I informed her that I was 6 mins late and was in my car outside of the office and she said that unfortunately that was their policy and I'd have to come back another time. This was very frustrating as I had made the drive all the way to the office, I was never informed of this strict policy and I have never had a Dr's or Vet's office make me reschedule for being 6 mins late. 10-15 mins late I would understand, but 6? I explained to the receptionist how frustrating this whole experience was and that it was very difficult for me to get everyone in the family packed up in the car, drive to the office just to be told I had to reschedule for being a little late. She then explained to me that this day was especially different because the Dr. had an important personal appointment to get to at 12:30. If the Dr. had a personal appointment that was so close to our appointment time (which was scheduled months ago) and he/she was unable to have the flexibility to allow for someone being 6 mins late, they should have given me a heads up or rescheduled the appointment ahead of time. In addition, the receptionist responded snarkily when I asked when I could be rescheduled by saying, "I can reschedule you for a 9:50 am appointment but we can say it's actually at 9:30 am if that helps you get here on time". I was 6 mins late, not 20. This experience has left me feeling like I'm not an important customer and therefore I will be finding another vet for our dog.

We have been visiting Highlands Animal Clinic for the past three years since puppyhood with our Border Collie and highly recommend. I want to specifically shout-out Highlands for remaining responsive and following up on my dog's health follow both a well-visit, and a drop-in appointment after he tore up his paws just a few days following. There is a shortage of veterinarian's in our community in general and Highlands remains responsive and flexible to come up with solutions to fit their patients in. They aren't accepting new patients at the moment, but once they are able to open things up give them a try!

I have never met a team of veterinary professionals that demonstrated, even in these challenging pandemic times, the warmth, care concern and professionalism that Highlands Animal Clinic provided to my cat Django. I came in as a new patient but was treated by everyone as a long-time family member. Dr. Lonny Dredla was kind, detailed in his diagnosis and instructions and walked Django out to the car to chat with me personally knowing my concern. There's customer service --and they have that in spades at Highlands Animal Clinic--but what I experienced was on another level of care. The visit itself was affordable and reasonable considering the services offered and I won't take my cats anywhere else. Honestly you shouldn't either.

I will never come here again and am appalled at their business practices. I took my dog in today for a routine wellness check as a new patient. I emailed them 3 pages of vaccine records, showing that all were up to date. They said they received the records upon check in and I again stated that she did not need any vaccines, just a check up. I can’t go in because of covid so I waited outside. The doctor calls me and said she’s all good, then the front desk calls me to pay for the invoice. While going over the costs, she mentions FIVE vaccines. I said excuse me, she got vaccines? She doesn’t need any of them and I explicitly stated she just needed a check up. They tried to tell me they only received one page of vaccine records in the email, not 3. While I did send all 3, why wasn’t I called to give CONSENT for my dog to receive any vaccine before they made that call?! One of the five shots she got 2 weeks ago, one was a 3 year rabies shot she got a year ago. None of them were close to being due. The doctor said “I was just going based off the records and we want to align all of her shots.” Why wasn’t I asked first? I have never been to a vet that didn’t ask before giving vaccines. Didn’t it seem odd that several of her shots on that page, which happened to be the oldest of the 3, would’ve looked like they had been expired for years? I’m going out of town this weekend and am frightened to leave her. I never would’ve given her that many shots at once.

We have had a wonderful experience with Highlands Animal Clinic. Sadly our dog is nearly 13 and we are dealing with some hard times ahead. But Dr Anderson has given her some medications that perked her up when we thought we may have had to put her down. But they have given her and us some extra time together that we are so grateful for. Especially knowing that she isn't in pain during the process. Not only that, he has called several times to see how she is doing. I would highly recommend this vet. They have been amazing with our puppers for years. And we are so grateful.

This team of veterinarians is amazing. Our kitty was just diagnosed with diabetes, and they’ve been so helpful and patient in getting her back to health. Our doggo loves them, too! I think we’ve seen all the doctors and each one of them has gone above and beyond to provide us with information during COVID, and answer any and all questions we may have.

They have been absolutely amazing so far! I just got a puppy Corgi and helped me find emergent care when she got sick before we could get in for our first appointment. Then I had issues with my complex and they provided letters I needed .. all before they met us! Then we had our first appointment and it went very well! Great communication and quick service. We have found our Vet with Highlands for sure!

Dr. Dredla is awesome, Highlands Animal Clinic is HOME. I have 2 Labradoodles and can't say enough about the care that I receive from Dr. Dredla at Highlands Animal Clinic, who I will follow to no matter what state or vet clinic he goes to. His bedside manner and the courtesy, kindness, and customer service is unmatched. My furr-babies are healthy and happy, and lifetime health maintenance patients of Dr. Dredla's for life!!

I made an appointment with Dr. Hess because she was highly recommended by another vet. 3 weeks out. Ok. I’ll wait for someone that highly recommended. Went to the appt and waited outside. Covid. I got a call from Dr. Ziess, spelling, not Dr. Hess. Confused and a bit irritated. This woman did the best she could just coming into the issues with both of my dogs. English Bulldog 13+ with cardiac issues, 8 year old English Bulldog with adrenal gland tumor. She’s a “fill in”vet. She did give me some good advice which I followed. The rest of this I’m going to address as if I were speaking to this practice. My dogs records never got separated. When I was talking to a person, any person, vet, staff member, they didn’t know which dogs records they were looking at. Even an Xray that wasn’t the dog we were evaluating. One is 13 and has serious cardiac issues the other is 8 and has a terminal tumor. Dr. Anderson, please let a person finish a sentence. You answered questions incorrectly because you wouldn’t let me finish my sentence. Several times. I TRIED to explain to you I was concerned about my dogs leakage issues because of his age. Your response of “right, that’s a long haul for an English Bulldog” isn’t only crass and insensitive but so disrespectful . Please don’t say that to a client again. It made my stomach turn. Don’t take someones credit card when you’re on a speaker. Even if you tell me you’re the only person in the room. Don’t tell me you’re not going to charge me for a test when you are. Even if I don’t understand why. Then charge me for it. There are other reviews here of the disorganization in your practice. The best was when I got a call from Lisa this morning. Lisa your condescending, rude, self righteous, conversation initially upset me. Telling me my opinion was not productive is why I’m leaving this review. You, personally told me the cardiologist for my dog, there isn’t a cardiologist, requested the urine test. You were defensive about that. I requested the test. Then Lisa you let me know I needed to get care elsewhere for these amazing dogs. I agree. We need so much better care. The way you spoke to me today is unacceptable. Kind, good, loving humans don’t have interactions like ours today! I was very rude about the complete incompetence. Very rude to some staff members for that reason. 100% will own up to that. I shouldn’t have had to deal with that or Lisa. Mostly my dogs deserve so much better.
