Thanks for your help in keeping our family (pets) happy and healthy! I have trust in all the staff to help guide our decisions and I greatly appreciate all the care attention given. Our girls love to come and visit Black Forest Veterinary Clinic -- Proof to the quality of care given (and the treats the pocket helps too). I highly recommend this clinic!

I am absolutely heartbroken. I took Lilly, my Dachshund to Black Forest Vet - in 2 days she went from bad, to worse, to dead. Day 1 she was vomiting, could drink, and walk. They gave her a shot to stop the vomiting, the next morning she could not drink, eat, or even stand, and she was shaking. I took her to the clinic, asked for a vet to look at her immediately because she was shaking and going into shock. They refused to put me in an exam room with my dying dog and told me to drive home without Lilly. HOURS later the vet called to tell me her kidney values were extremely high, they could not get them down - Lilly still could not eat, drink, or stand up. My family and I went to the clinic to have her put to sleep. A woman brought my dog in - LILLY had wet can dog food (most likely she was force fed) or vomit on her face NO ONE washed her face, and she had Diarrhea all over her bottom, her back legs and stomach, and her tongue was dry like paper - she was in that cage for hours, laying in her Diarrhea - NO ONE got a warm washcloth to wash her face or bottom. WE had to ask the woman to clean her - she came back with a paper napkin, dried off and spread the Diarrhea around. My mom did not tell me until much later that Black Forest Vet charged me $524 for that day of abusing my dying dog. The day before that was $175 - so in total I paid almost $700 to have my dog be all alone in a cage, treated like garbage - literally left there with filth on her face, laying in her own Diarrhea, alone without me. I have been taking my cats to Dr. Holcombe for almost 10 years. She works really hard to research and get to the bottom of the issue, and she really cares about all of my cats and me. She also knows when I need a specialist to have the best care, and has a very humble attitude. I would highly recommend her to anyone. The staff is really wonderful too.

I’ve never felt more comfortable leaving my dog with someone as I do with them. They are compassionate and have the heart for the work they do. They truly care for the animals they work with and want to see them get better. Best place by far!

Best veterinary clinic I've found in Colorado. They genuinely care and know their stuff. My pup doesn't always have the best time at the doctor, but he never leaves here upset.

I went through Black Forest Vet to get health certificates for my cats to be able to move out of the country with me. This entire process is very costly (over $800 for 2 cats)and there’s a lot at stake because if it is not done exactly right and in the right timing you are SOL and your fur babies would be yanked from you at the border. Unfortunately, this veterinary clinic could not get organized or communicate efficiently and may have cost me $800 to not get this done in time and I may still have to rehome the cats at the last minute despite my efforts in advance UPDATE: We would not have received the paperwork in time so my husband had to intercept UPS, after driving quite a ways, so we would have the paperwork. This was primarily due to the disorganization of black forest veterinary clinic staff despite us paying so much money

Always great to see Dr. Mohr. Especially when we are introducing him to a new member of our family. Yesterday was Murphy our 15 week old Bernese Mountain dog. Thanks for the time you and your wonderful staff spent with us. Rob & Deb

I spent 30 minutes on the phone setting up a new patient appointment scheduled for a Saturday morning. My husband showed up for the appointment and they said there was no appointment in their system. They didn’t offer to get him in or anything. I called the front office and the receptionist was very rude and just kept repeating the appointment wasn’t in the system. Finally, I spoke with the veterinarian and he was able to squeeze my husband and our cat in. Once they finally were back for the appointment the Vet was really nice.

Always providing good care for my pets and at a fair price. They were able to see my cat, without an appointment, diagnose and provide a treatment plan in less than an hour. Highly Recommend

Reasonably good experience here except the wait in the car BS. I waited out front and the worker tried to make me get in my car because they were bringing a pitbull through. I walked around building out of site. Gas costs $3.69 a gal. to run the truck for AC. It's hot in the car in the sun. You'd think a vet would know that. She actually said she could lose her job if I didn't wait in the car. That's sad but not my problem.

They were great with my rat babies. I will only go to them from now on. Update: We took our two cats here, and had them remove some of their teeth. They recovered fully, and are really happy boys now. Black Forest vet took great care of our boys. We will always go back. ♥️

Used to be a great vet. Since then our primary care provider has left their practice, they've lost our shot records, and have the damndest time accomplishing the necessary tasks to get medications filled. I also swear they got bought out or something and are focusing more on the bottom line much more than they used to. Between all of that and the extremely far out appointment scheduling (where if you show up 5 minutes late they cancel your appointment but if you're there on time you have to wait an hour), it seems like they just don't have the staff or resources to cover how many people they're seeing.

If I could give no stars I would. Sad I didn't get the chance to test out their service because I was turned away after being late when I called and let the receptionist know I was running a little behind I let her know my GPS said 8 minutes away which I was unfortunately I'm in a one lane road going to their clinic behind a tractor so I ended up being about 12 minutes late. I was turned away because I was late and the doctor couldn't see us. Then I was told that I could leave my pet at their drop-off service for around $200. No thanks I will take my business elsewhere. But I'm sure they won't need my business seeing that they were so busy with all the invisible cars in the parking lot.

Time to update my review for BFVC. We have been really happy with the level of care and service received there. Their prices are very reasonable as well which becomes even more important after you are retired. Everyone is so nice, and Dr. Holcomb is an excellent surgeon. She always follows up with a call. I have recommended BFVC to my friends and neighbors, and recently my neighbor took her dog in; she texted me that she was really happy with the vet she saw. Great job BFVC! Thanks so much!

My 5 month old puppy was very lethargic and not eating. I called to see if I could get an appointment but they were booked solid. They offered to have me drop her off and have her stay until the vets could see her in between appointments. Everyone was incredibly friendly, the vet was super responsive and surprisingly quick, even sending my pup home with special food and instructions! Even with an x-ray, the cost was less than other places I had been without an x-ray! I think we found out new veterinary home!

First of all, when I called to make an appointment for my newly adopted kitten to get his 3rd shot, I told the person who was scheduling us that I had a voucher from Wild Blue Cats for his shots. I got a reminder text for my appointment with specific instructions for check in procedures and to text my email if I wanted to get the paperwork ahead of time, instead of having to come more than 10 minutes early to fill it out. Much to my dismay, I kept checking my email and spam folder and verifying that I sent my correct email address, I never received the paperwork to fill out ahead of time. Not horrible, but disappointing. So, my 5 year old and I brought the kitten to our appointment and we arrived 20 minutes before our scheduled appointment. I called the front desk, as per text instructions, to check in. 35 minutes later, I grew weary of waiting in our car in the sun with a kitten and 5 year old and called the front desk, again, to make sure that we weren’t overlooked (many people who arrived way AFTER us kept on getting served (techs came out to get pets and/or owners). I was told that we weren’t overlooked. Finally, a tech came out and gave me the paperwork and I gave her the kitten’s shot record and medical records I had. A tech came to get us and our kitten about 10 minutes after that. The appointment went fine, until after the shot our kitten needed was administered. I was charged $79 for an exam and the shot! When I adopted from Wild Blue, I was told that all I needed to do was contact a partner vet on the list and bring the kitten in with the voucher and paperwork and that we wouldn’t get charged. It was NEVER communicated to me when I made the appointment, when I arrived, when I gave them the voucher, or BEFORE they administered the shot that I’d have to pay for an exam AND pay for the vaccination (even with the voucher). There was absolutely no common courtesy or good customer service. I was told that Wild Blue hadn’t supplied them with the “free vaccinations” and so I had to pay for mine. It would’ve been nice to have been informed of this BEFORE we even made the appointment, BEFORE we waited for 40 minutes and BEFORE the shot was administered. Very disappointing and I will not bring my pets there again. I will also share my experience with others. This was a horrible experience for me.

We had such a great experience for our very first visit here! My dogs were treated so kindly and the vet and tech were caring and knowledgeable. We are so happy to have found a good vet home for our doggies!
