We loved coming here. Dr. Liza was amazing when we came for the first time, mid year. To say I am disappointed in this place this time around is an understatement. We came in this morning to bring our ferrets in, and they wouldn't allow 2 people in (myself and my 9 year old daughter), even though previously in late July/early August it wasn't an issue. The lady at the older front desk lady was absolutely awful in person. They called with the information from our visit. I asked if they still did nail trims with the visit and the Dr said she'd be happy to do it then (nothing on cost was mentioned at that time). Received a bill for $291 for 2 ferrets which included $15/ferret for a nail trim. I called post visit once I received the invoice and asked why that was not on the visit from previously, nor was it mentioned over the phone that the cost would be that high and they said the owner would be in touch. Jill called me back and told me the owner would not be calling me back and hung up on me. Absolutely bummed as we loved this place originally. Take your animals elsewhere.

Hands down the best avian vet (or really ANY animal!) Dr. Nabilla and the vet techs took such great care with my Kiwi and Tiki; my two beloved cockatiels. I was really worried my boys would be stressed but there were plenty of cheerios and nutri-berries available to qualm their fears. They stepped up so happily to anyone who was handling them and if my birds trust them, I do too! Thank you so much for the fantastic experience and providing genuine, loving care for all the patients. You can really feel the love the entire facility has for animals and the compassion that just radiates from anyone who works there.

We had to put our beloved dog to sleep as she was very sick. Dr. Lisa and her staff made a difficult experience as comfortable and easy as possible for both us and our dog. The people here are very compassionate and empathetic and they really love animals. We look forward to working with Critter Care again when we get a new dog.

I debated posting a review, always thought I didnt have much to share that people haven't already said. But I HAVE to say, if you have rats, and you're in Colorado, TAKE THEM HERE. There have been countless other vets that make having rats around here difficult. They always disregard them due to their short lifespan, charge hundreds of dollars for hardly an exam, and/or only have appointments a month or more out. I've even had to wait in an exam for over 30 minutes after my appointment because the "other animals were a priority". My appointment was a while ago, but Critter care not only got Frankie in fast, they treated him like he should be, as important as any other animal. They gave him treats, the medicine he needed, and ACTUALLY studied his behavior, that they described in detail over the phone (unsure what their regulations are now, but this was when they had to have people wait in the car while they took the animals in). They walked me through everything, had GREAT communication thats hard to come by these days. The indescribable joy I got from finding a vet that was so compassionate, thorough, and even have a picture of a rat first thing when you open their website! Relief is an understatement, this place is a breath of fresh air. I will always bring my boys and every rat I have here from now on. And you should too!

Wonderful crew; beautiful , very caring and friendly people.i came in with my pet rat, who's over 2yo, in poor health and the stuff provided amazing care, prescribed some meds, did xrays, clipped his unruly claws, and more. I was very pleased. He's fully recovered now and is doing a lot better. ❤ u guys and thank you so much!!

What can I say, they are GREAT here. We took in our two sugar gliders to get neutered. I was very scared and nervous because of a bad experience at a different veterinary clinic. Therefore, I had so many questions. However, Dr. Pfaff was extremely nice and answered all my questions and was very patient with me. Also, Dr. Nabilla was amazing with my babies! She was also, very patient with my questions , she made me feel very confident in the procedure. She was great to my babies and this is definitely my new place to take my gliders ! If you have sugar gliders , this is the place for you! They’re very knowledgeable with gliders and so good at what they do! Thank you very much.

My pet has been a patient for almost 2 years. She has a condition that cause her to become very I'll and dehydrated and blood in her stool. She had an attack so we called and ask for the antibiotics which we have given her in the past prescribed by the vet. They refused and said we would have to make an appointment. The earliest we could get her in was 5 days later. We took the appointment and crossed our fingers she wouldn't get worse. When we woke up the next day, she had severe diarrhea and blood in her stool. We called again and begged for the antibiotics. Once again, we were refused and told our only option was to go to the ER which we finally had to do. If you have a pet, I would caution you if you are considering going to Critter Care.

I've been taking my rats here for years, and could not have asked for a better exotic animal vet. Dr. Pfaff and staff are always knowledgeable on treatments in the field, affordable, professional, and welcoming. Having undergone multiple surgeries and also life-long treatments for their respiratory disease, my rats have no doubt had a much longer and happier life under her care.

Today my Love bird managed to escape from his cage and was hurt by my cats. He is 15 years old and has never done this before. I was hysterical and my husband and I were looking for places quick that would take him and make sure he was okay. Critter Care was the only one out of around 8 vet hospitals that were willing to see him right away (I understand COVID has made things difficult). It was a long drive, but the staff was so kind and responsive. We are so thankful for the care that he recieved. He is so special to us and today really was a rough day. The prices were very fair as well. We wish we lived closer so that we could continue using their services. Thank you!

Critter care has been affordable. Initially we took our ferrets in because our female was losing hair and she was lethargic and didn't look healthy. They recommended an implant to correct for adrenal disease. The implant made all the difference in the world. She has her fur back and now looks so much better!

I was able to get an appointment right away for my leopard gecko. :) The staff and doctor were so kind and took great care of her. I could tell they were very thorough with the exam as well. I will definitely be back - I'm probably going to take all of my pets here from now on.

The Veterinarian and her staff were awesome!! We have a 2 year old rat and they put us at ease right away, reassured us that she'd be ok and planned a course of treatment. Will definately continue to take our fur babies to Critter Care.

If I could give 100 stars I would! Couldn’t ask for a better team to help us and take care of our dog! Started going to them because they are a fear free clinic and it’s the best decision we ever made for our dog!

The individuals who work here go above and beyond with caring for pets. Everyone is friendly & always show compassion towards any kind of animal. Pricing vary, but for the most part they’re affordable. Thank you for being awesome????????

The only place I would trust for veterinary care for my lil ferret babies, despite the far distance from me. I am actually reviewing today since I misunderstood if my prescription was refilled and drove out before their early close today. Since I told them it was quite a commute they made sure to fill it for me anyway. 10/10 customer service baby!

Holy cow, what a difference this vet makes! I came from Mississippi, where my ferrets and cats had been treated for years, and I was apprehensive about finding a new vet. This team was absolutely extraordinary. Their policies made my babies feel welcome from the beginning. My animals were able to run around and play with the toys, enjoy treats and explore the room. It made such a difference when the vet came in to perform her exams. I also felt like the vet spent more than enough time with me - not like she was rushing to get to the next patient. I cannot express how impressed I am with my experience. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. THANK YOU!

I dont even know where to start with how amazing this vet practice is, but the long way is definitely it. I first came across Dr. Liza Pfaff through my place of employment. My bosses dogs go there and some clients have gone there as well. Dr. Pfaff is someone who should be a vet and she is for all the right reasons. My first experience there with my own dogs was very traumatic because my previous vet failed my German Shepherd. The very first appointment that I had, Dr. Pfaff found my dog was riddled with cancer when my previous vet wouldn't take my concerns seriously. I ended up choosing to let my sweet baby go. Liza was nothing but amazing with comforting me and making the extremely hard decision easier. I was a late appointment and we had gone past the time that the clinic was open but she didnt rush me and my family said their goodbyes to Pandora. Most people would probably stop going to a vet where their first experience was euthanasia, but that didnt stop me because you could see the care that Liza had for me and my dog. I then transferred my other dog over to her when it came time for her annual physical and it was fast and painless. My mutt is a very very nervous dog but Liza took her time and plied my dog with many good treats. She then tore her ACL and during covid it has been a bumpy road, but she was able to have a surgeon come and do a TPLO surgery pretty fast and they fixed my baby girl up months ago and we just got the all clear for normal activity not that long ago.... fast forward to the last couple of weeks.. my sisters dog (whom is very much my baby as well) has been very very sick... Dr. Pfaff did right by him through these last couple of hard weeks. On this past friday it had come down to needing to do an exploratory surgery with the possibility of a splenectomy. It was a risky surgery since he had low platelets, low red blood cells and some other things happening, but opening him up was pretty much the only option. She went in and removed an absolutely ginormous spleen from him.. it ended up weighing over 6lbs which is unheard of. Surgery went well but then a couple hours into recovery he needed to be opened back up because he had appeared to be bleeding. She opened him back up after her hospital had closed for the day and my sister and I waited around for him. She called after saying he was bleeding and a transfusion was in his best interest. The place she would get her blood would no longer sell it. During this phone call she asked if we new anyone who could donate. We didnt really know anyone who fet the criteria of donating but Dr. Pfaff did. She called them and they came over and that persons dog donated blood without hesitation. They even had two other dogs on standby if our dog needed it. I will NEVER be able to thank Dr. Liza Pfaff or that dogs family enough for EVERYTHING that they have done for my dogs and my family. For as long as I live in colorado, and as long as she is practicing and i have animals.. i will only be bringing them to Dr. Pfaff.

Well our first intended visit to “Critter Care Animal Hospital” was (UNFORTUNATELY) a bust! We had been referred to this practice by our long time vet who retired last year. We also got other positive references. We had previously sent them a complete copy of our newly adopted Pup's records and completed their on-line detailed information questionnaire about her. When we arrived EARLY for her appointment, and were asked to wait outside (understandable), but they would then not let BOTH of us enter the clinic, despite the fact that a couple had just left the clinic with their animal. I asked for an exception (given that this was our first visit) and pointed out that: we were both wearing masks, live in the same household, have been following all CDC protocols and that one of us has been volunteering at Children’s Hospital (which has VERY strict Covid guidelines). Dr. Pfaff did not even have the courtesy to come outside to discuss this matter - she actually called me on my phone. How insulting!! When I inquired as to this inconsistency, she indicated that one of the two people who had just left was deaf and the other was her interpreter. I didn’t know that Covid was LESS transmittable by someone who is deaf!!!! Why was the deaf person allowed to enter the clinic? This practice markets itself as "fear free", which now seems just like a marketing gimmick! Anyway……..we will certainly find a highly qualified and more accommodating vet practice.
