Awesome local vet that genuinely cares about your pet, and doesn't try to sell you unnecessary services. Dr. Kalenzi is great. I highly recommend Rock Creek as a top notch vet in the Broomfield/Superior area.

Great staff and lots of personal care (both pets and owners). Great location and soon moving into an even bigger facility in the same area.

EXCUSES AT THE COST OF YOUR PET'S CARE. I had high hopes for this vet with such great reviews but I should have searched the more recent reviews before it seems over the past few months they have been getting increasingly more negative. I brought my puppy in for his first checkup which went alright, but 4 days later I had to bring him back for a tooth that had been split in half. They recommend I get the tooth extracted and offered to neuter my 4 month old puppy puppy at the same time. No one explained to me the benefits or downsides to both the tooth extraction and the neutering and this is where my first concern comes in. I know from friends who work in veterinary health that you shouldn't neuter a medium to large size breed prior to 8 months old as it can lead to hip problems and shorten their lifespan. If I didn't know this before going in, I would have probably had my puppy neutered causing him potential future health problems. This recommendation was not in the best interest of my pet and I don't understand why it was recommended; if there was a medically relevant reason, no one explained it to me. Second red flag. Prior and post x-rays are standard care practice for tooth extractions in pets as I t reduces tissue trauma and informs/confirms that the tooth is fully extracted (call in reputable vet teaching hospital they'll say the same). When I brought my puppy in for his tooth extraction, I had to request they perform x-rays which they did for an additional $100 but again, no one talked with me about this option; which honestly shouldn't be an option as it is considered a standard practice. Unfortunately, they only performed post extraction x-rays meaning they were extracting the tooth blindly this increasing the risk of unnecessary tissue damage. Additionally, the post extraction x-rays showed they left a third of the tooth in the gums meaning they had to go back in and extract more, causing more trauma to the mouth and surrounding tissue. If I didn't request x-rays, they would have left a third of his tooth in his gums which can lead to continue pain and possible infection. I shouldn't have to research standard veterinary procedures prior to going to my vet. I want a vet that recommends the best care for my pet and talks me through the options. On the surface this place seems great, but in practice there are A LOT of cut corners that can negatively affect your pet. Response to admin: - No one explained or offered me x-rays. I had to stop the vet tech as they brought my puppy back to ask if x-rays would be performed to which the tech said, "yeah we can do them for $100 if you'd like". My consent form only proves that x-rays were requested by me not how the conversation went. If it was a standard of care practice, the option would be to opt out of x-rays and not opt in. Additionally, the x-rays were shown to me but never emailed. And the only x-rays shown to me were of a 2/3 extracted tooth with a fragment left in the gums. If prior x-rays were performed how could you miss 2/3 of a tooth please send me the x-rays and I will post them so people can see how much of the tooth was left in the gums. Regardless of tools, you know how much tooth you have extracted, so if it's not equal to the amount of tooth seen on the x-ray then there was stuff left behind. - As far as neutering my dog. You bring up a lot of good points on it depending on the breed; however, I sure hope you know the breed of my dog after you just finished assessing him. So, I would expect the recommendation to be based on the dog you just assessed. Again, all I was told is, "we can neuter him at the same time." To which I replied, "should I? What would be the benefit and risk?" The response from the tech after speaking to the vet, "It would save you money." So again, no communication and the conversation was not centered around the best option for my dogs health. - Lastly, cutting corners doesn't just have to save you money. You can cut corners to save time. No one took the time to have discussions with me.

EDIT: really grateful we switched vets when we did. If we had somehow gone through with Rock Creek's recommendation to have major surgery on our 12 year old dog then her last few months of life would have been nothing but pain and recovering from surgery. Instead, her new vet recommended conservative management and additional medication for her pain. Our new vet treated our whole family with more empathy and compassion during our dogs final months than I believe we could have ever received at Rock Creek. We are heartbroken at losing her but so grateful that we found a more kind vet to manage our dog's health at the end. Original post: This is long but I really wish I would have known this prior to scheduling my dog for surgery at Rock Creek because I no longer trust them to appropriately handle my dog's care. I have been taking my 12 year old lab mix to Rock Creek for a little while now and last week I took her in because she suddenly had issues walking and seemed to be in pain. Rock Creek said that she had torn her CCL in one knee and needed TPLO surgery as soon as possible. I was concerned about putting her under anesthesia at her age so I asked the vet about braces or non-surgical options. He suggested that there was no option but surgery. I dropped my dog off today and was told that I would get a call when she was out of surgery. An hour after we were supposed to get the call that her surgery was over we received a call from the surgeon stating that the office had intubated and put my dog under anesthesia, but that he had just arrived and that he didn't see anything that would suggest our dog needed TPLO surgery. The surgeon said he had no idea why my dog was scheduled for TPLO surgery because her hips and knees felt perfectly fine. At no time did Rock Creek suggest that there was a chance she would not need the surgery (in fact the vet warned me that they saw issues in both knees which would cost roughly 7k so we were preparing for that). When I arrived at the office to pick up my dog the vet was not there and the surgeon had already left. The vet tech could not answer any of my questions and gave me a lot of medication but they couldn't explain why my dog suddenly needed antibiotics or multiple pain medications. After we got home the vet called my husband because we wanted answers for why our dog was scheduled for surgery and what we should do for her moving forward, but my husband said that he didn't receive any answers and that the vet took no accountability. My dog has not stopped crying since we picked her up from Rock Creek. I previously enjoyed our experiences at Rock Creek but after today I no longer trust them because they inappropriately misdiagnosed, anesthetized, and intubated my senior dog and did not offer any answers or take accountability. I'm mostly upset about how the office communicated with us today. The total lack of compassion for what we went through because of their misdiagnosis along with the office giving us no information about how to handle her care moving forward is why we won't be returning to Rock Creek.

I didn't actually visit this place, I was getting directions for a relative who had a sick dog. Unfortunately the dog had to be put down but the people seemed attentive and knowledgeable to their needs.

This place is so very kind and loving of animals ~ the Dr and staff far exceeded all expectations about my concern for their compassion with my fur babie's (bad additude) lol from not feeling well but they loved up on her with such gentle spirits ! Bear is a service dog to my special needs child and the Dr involved my son as much as possible with decision making and hands on helping ~ most amazing experience to watch my son be so PROUD to be treated with respect and dignity on the decision making with his ???? ❤ ! We we're taken back on time for our appointment and all prices we're discussed befor doing anything there was no comparison with any vet in a 45 mile radius when it came to being affordable ~ there's also a coupon on Groupon ! This is most definitely going to be our new veterinary office I'd highly recommend this place to ANYONE !

They don't do anything in front of you, the exam, the Vaccines, anything. Not standard (I've worked in the vet industry) by any means. Sometimes we'll take dogs to the back for vaccines, but we ALWAYS do wellness exams in the room, it's very important to develop that client doctor rapport. The vet herself came into the room to speak with us and she was very impersonal. She honestly doesn't seem to like her job at all. She didn't pet the dog, call him by his name or try to gain his trust in anyway possible. It is VERY important that my dog trust his vet. Not only that but we weren't asked some pretty important questions- like how much we feed our dog or what we feed our dog. She didn't ask us if we're first time dog owners- VERY IMPORTANT. Seemed agitated while answering our questions as well. I wouldn't recommend this hospital.

This vet is the best. I had heard these doctors are great. Mine was Dr Reynolds, (love her!) assistant Cassie (so kind) front desk person Dori (the best) I was so lucky, thankfully they got me right in. I was a mess because I was so worried about my dog. They got her right in. I love their confidence and calm demeanor. They took very good care of her and I walked out a very happy fur- mommy. I was referred to this vet to begin with and I'm so grateful! Rock Creek in Superior is my forever vet!

Very attentive to our dog’s needs. After searching for years we finally found a competent veterinarian for our pets.

I am giving them a 1 star because it won't let me give it less. Make sure you ask questions. They tell you the least amount possible and charge the most they could possibly get away with. DON'T finance anything the terms are NOT what they tell you, you will be paying triple the amount or more just to save you babies life. Find another place.

This is by far my favorite vet I’ve ever been to. I feel welcome and like my business is appreciated. The front desk always greets you when you arrive and the vets are amazing. Both Docs are incredible to work with and I feel like they actually care about my puppy. I will continue to go here as long as I live in Colorado.

Not sure how anyone would give this place 5 stars. Staff is rude and dismissive. Acted like we were a burden. Didn't give our puppy a full exam. The tech acted like he is a vicious dog when he is still a growing puppy. He was wagging his tail and giving kisses. Had a neuter surgery scheduled, no way we are going back! If you are going into business with animals you should be expect to have to be around animals and people that love their animals.

Dr. Kalenzi is by far the best vet I've been to. The whole staff is so caring - their love of animals is easy to see in everything they do. They're clearly not in this business just for the money. Dr. Kalenzi has helped my animals so much, and I plan to take my pets to this vet for the foreseeable future.

Dr. Kalenzi and all of his staff are kind, competent and efficient. We have had our two dogs in their care for years and now added a puppy to our family. We wouldn't go anywhere else. They go above and beyond and are focused on what is our pets best interest.

As always, the best vet I've ever had, and his staff is also great! He's very thorough, really cares about my cat (and our pets before him) and remembers details from the last time we came in unrelated to the basic health check :) The entire office is very welcoming and helpful, and really wants to be sure that any questions we have are answered, and are really accessible in terms of scheduling. The clinic is also all on a flat level, so it's really accessible if you have a handicap. During Covid, they have taken steps to be sure that distancing is safely maintained, with the only contact being when I handed my kitty over and then took him back. Everyone has masks on, and there's sanitizer around everywhere. I've been hiding under a rock from the germs, but I felt very safe. The clinic has always had limited space in terms of rooms and waiting rooms (they get you in and out smoothly), and it's turned out to be a good thing these days. The total number of people in the building is really low, so that's been really good.
