Absolutely loved and trusted this vet for a few years…..Until I started bringing my new puppy in. Each time I brought her in I started to be more skeptical because there were more and more expensive (and unnecessary) treatments pushed on me. The final straw happened when I FINALLY gave in to getting one of the many tests for something I thought may be an issue. This test was being sent to the lab and was supposed to take a few days to come back, which was confirmed by BOTH the vet and the receptionist. I called back a week later and the receptionist said they would have the vet call with my results. No call. I continued to call back with no response on the results (that were PAID for) for over a month for supposably important information for my puppies health. I then called back and a different receptionist said there was no test and that I paid for a “physical examination” which we did not receive on that day. So I have now waited over a month for important results that were paid for and apparently never even existed. I think they lost the sample that I paid for and could not admit that or for some reason wanted to steal extra money from customers under their nose….Either way, no refund and no results. And as the receptionist was informing me about this “physical exam” that never happened, she was extremely rude and belittling considering they are in the wrong and essentially stealing this money from a customer. Taking my services elsewhere IMMEDIATELY…would recommended you do too.

Our cat, Tuli, has been under the care of Doctor Kay since we have adopted him at three months old. Tuli passed away today at the age of 18 years old. Dr. Kay was there for us professionally as well as emotionally. We truly appreciate Dr. Kay's empathy, kindness, and professionalism. His staff and the other vets at SOBO are caring and helpful. We are grateful for the way the clinic handled Tuli's end-of-life issues. And we are happy that our two dogs will continue to get the excellent care that SOBO is offering. Danny and Orna

Dr Kay has been a rock for us, greeting our new pets with laughter and joy and grieving the loss of our old ones with fond memories and tears. We can always count on the best care and would not consider taking our pets anywhere else.

THE BEST VETERINARY CLINIC IN BOULDER!

Me and my family were in a pinch & we needed to have our 2 year-old Bernese Mountain Dog Primo up to date with his shots that had expired two weeks prior. Note that we only had 3 hours to find someone and get the shots completed. This was our first visit to South Boulder Animal Hospital. Megan took the call and had Primo up to date with shots literally within one hour from the time we called, drove there, checked in and out the door. I couldn't be more surprised and happy to deal with South Boulder Animal Hospital and their staff. AAA+++

We love South Boulder Animal Hospital! We have been taking our pups here for 5+ years and always have great service. Most recently, our golden got kennel cough and they were able to schedule us the morning I called, were professional with the exam and were very diligent about sanitizing following the appointment. They even sent a follow up to check in and see how she was doing with the medicine they prescribed. Couldn't recommend enough!

I've had a terrible experience with a vet here in Boulder CO. I switched to South Boulder Animal Hospital and was received by highly professional hands. Reliable, transparent, and not afraid of their 'liability shadow' - I highly recommend this vet.

The doctors + nurses there care a lot about your pet - after both regular wellness checks + a surgery for my dog, the vet called personally to discuss the results. They run on time, have treats for humans + animals, and are just a really nice practice work with in the south boulder area.

Great human beings, amazing veterinarians! Very personable, super sweet and kind with our puppy, and very informative and comprehensive at our first visit. We followed up with a call this week and the staff was extremely knowledgable. Happy to call this group our forever home!

South Boulder Animal Hospital has been nothing short of fantastic with my two dogs. Their front desk is always quick to respond to emails/calls, and so friendly when we come in. I always feel like I’m getting the best care for my pups whenever we go!

The vets and techs at the South Boulder Animal Hospital have been caring for my dog for a few years now and I couldn't be happier with the level of care he has received. My dog has severe skin allergies and the vets, particularly Dr. Kay, worked with me to figure out the source of the hives/infections and the appropriate treatment. I also appreciate the front desk staff who are unfailingly warm, welcoming and helpful.

They are BIG animal lovers. Everyone was very attentive to my dog and Dr. Watrous always told me recommendations for her and is very well educated as a vet. The vet techs are all also amazing. You would’ve thought my dog didn’t have four legs that worked since they carried her everywhere. She had one major procedure there that was successful. After every appointment they email/call you the next day to check on your animal. Wonderful customer service. If I ever live in the boulder area again I will have them as my vet.

From the vet techs to Dr. Romans, Russell’s first visit to South Boulder Animal Hospital was great. He is filled with anxiety about vet visits but I think this was his best one yet! Dr. Romans was soooo patient with him and tried to make him feel comfortable. High recommend!

I've never been to a vet that had toys and snacks to make dogs comfortable before the exam. Dr. Romans (sp?) was really wonderful. Thank you.

I brought in a 1yo rescue with GI troubles and a slight limp. In treating the GI I saw all 3 vets. Two didn’t even comment on the limp. One noticed it but told me that “the injury had already healed and x-rays would be a waste of money” well, turns out my pup had a DISLOCATED HIP. When I contacted other vets about the limp, they took x-rays immediately.

Wow. My first visit was excellent. This has been a hard year to be a Vet… and yet, the staff here are friendly, engaged, and showed sincere care for my dog. Highly recommend!

I brought in my newly adopted dog in for his first exam. I was worried my dog would bite because he was so scared, but the vet and vet tech Jen, were very patient and kind and took the time to gain his trust so they could examine him.

I have brought two pets now to SOBO Animal Hospital (one cat and one dog) for their care, and I have never been disappointed by my experience. They supported me through end of life care for my cat and made his last days as comfortable as possible, as well as after my dog was suffering an allergic reaction and I was terrified - they genuinely care about your pets as if they were their own. My dog wags her tail when she's there! The people are so kind and caring - if you are looking for a place for veterinary care for your pet in the Boulder area choose SOBO Animal Hospital!

We received very through care at SoBo Animal Hospital. Our cat was treated with love and we, as his caretakers, were given excellent information regarding his condition. SoBo vets followed up with us after his surgery and have continued to be proactive in contacting us with lab results and general ongoing care. We have had a very positive experience.

South Boulder Animal Hospital is a great place to take pets. They have helped us with finding solutions to every one of our rescue dog's needs and odd quirks. I am a college student and have a tight schedule but they always make sure to find a time to see my dog. I also appreciate how easy it is to contact and get a response. Overall a solid place to take your animal. They will be taken good care of.

The staff at SoBo Animal Hospital is great! They have provided excellent care for my dog at a reasonable price. Also, my dog likes to nudge strangers' hands to say hello, and all of the staff understood and returned his greeting.

They have been my vets for 30 years at least and have always taken outstanding care of my dogs!

Dr. Kay has been my vet for many years, taking wonderful care of my cats.

Every time I take my cat to SOBO I am impressed by the professionalism and caring attitude of the Clinton Kaye and his complete support staff. He is attentive and solved an issue with my cats teeth through changing his diet. I have been coming to SOBO for many years and I plan to continue for more to come!
