I was sad to call and ask for an appointment for my very sick kitty. I have been to this vet a few times and appreciated their care but today they dropped the ball. After I told how sick he was and I was a client they told me they were three weeks out for visits but to call another vet he needed to be seen. I was able to get into another vet they same day.

TRASH service. Make you wait outside while they service one dog at the time . Been going there for 6 years. Never again.

My first time going here was curbside service only. I was a little nervous about how that would go, but they took great care of Romeo, and were very helpful and informative!

When we were told that my dog has heart murmur, gum disease and some other health issues, the vet literally laughed while she was telling this news to us. What kind of vet is she? I don't see any humor in that... Also, the staffs are very unprofessional. Everytime they were supposed to call us back about questions we had for our dog or test results, we never hear from tyem. We had to call ourselves to find out what is going on and no apology every single time. I'm switching the vet. Not to mention the cost is extremely high like other people said on the reviews.

I haven't been here in awhile so I don't remember when it became a part of VCA. My 3 stars wasn't completely because of one thing, but a combination of a few things. I was going to give 2 stars had it not been for the actual doctor being so up front and communicating everything to me whenever we spoke. I definitely do not like the new covid protocols. Am I the only one who feels that this "new way" of having to do things is very impersonal and frankly kind of frustrating?! I understand that businesses need to follow certain guidelines to protect clients and their own staff, but having to wait in my car the entire time and then only being able to speak on the phone and not in person was frustrating and definitely made me seriously think about switching vets. Are all vet offices like this now? As soon as you drive up, you are asked by signs in each parking spot to call the hospital. You call, tell them you're there and in what spot you're parked. From there they check you in, then tell you the veterinarian will call you soon. Then the vet calls you, you go over symptoms and what their plan of action is. Then a staff member comes out, gets your pet, brings your pet inside and you wait for another phone call. You can assume how the rest of the "visit" went, everything via phone calls back and forth. I definitely do not like this new way of doing things such as vet office visits. It's not the staff's fault. And had it not been for how nice they all were, I'd have given 2 stars or less just based on the overall experience. On top of that, they didn't send home any take home instructions when my cat was picked up and were closed when I realized this and tried to call to get these instructions. Just add another phone call to the on going list of things. Not too happy about that. Not a great experience, which is sad because I liked this vet office. Not too sure now.

Great vet have never had a bad experience. A tiny bit expensive and that's why 4 stars but the service and care is great.

Just got a new kitten, and everyone here was incredibly helpful in getting her up to date on shots and doing general checkup. They did an awesome job and were great about communicating and making the visit as hassle free for me and the kitten as possible.

Dr Reyes took amazing care of my diabetic geriatric cat for 6 years. When his time came, her and the other staff made the ending as beautiful and peaceful as it could be. They really care and it shows.

update: They never called me like they said they did but it looks as though there service has improved for my mother in law at least. I am still very pleased with the vet I switched too and haven't been "nickled or dimed" once. Our new vet was even able to help out with our smaller dogs skin issues! All is well that ends well. Just got to find the vet that makes you and your animals most comfortable. I’m almost at a loss for words. Last week I took my golden pup in there for his shots telling them about his bowel issue and the vet never communicated anything with me including not giving him his next round shots due to diarrhea. I ended up walking out to calm myself down after paying a 175 dollar bill that I was not expecting and when I walked back in was told the office manager would give me a call the next day. Not only did I never receive a call back but the vet never did a follow call to see how my pet was doing, just fecal results. My boyfriend and his parents have been going to this vet for over 10 years and I guess it has really gone downhill in the last few months. Will not be returning and found a great new vet that makes me feel comfortable and my pet cared for.

Worst vet I ever been too. I would never ever take my dog back ever again. The vet dragged my my 4month old puppy by his neck from there leash 3 ft into the front door choking him very bad causing him to yelp hard. Absolute worst vet experience.

Initially, we were happy with VCA Smoky Hill Animal Hospital, but unfortunately recent events have changed our view. Our puppy got stitches from the Emergency Care Hospital in Parker (not VCA). He unfortunately opened one of the stitches on the back side of his paw (a high pressure area that commonly reopens). The day after his stich reopened, we took him to VCA Smoky Hill to get evaluated and make sure he was still okay in his recovery. We were told that the stitches did break, but that it was healing well and there was no need to worry. No intervention was performed. 14 days after the initial incident, he had his stitches removed (which is normal). 2 days later, the laceration reopened in the same spot where the initial stitch had broke during recovery. Instead of taking responsibility for missing the severity of the injury when we had the missing stitch evaluated, the veterinarian told us that it was a brand new, unrelated injury 2 mm below the original injury and that we would have to repay the full cost to have the area stitched again. Our dog now has to suffer for a longer period of time, and it could have all been avoided if they gave him a thorough examination initially and provided us with preventative information. My wife and I did everything by the book and even made sure someone was at home with the puppy at all times during his recovery. We care about our dog and paid to have the same laceration fixed a second time, but I am hoping this will encourage the VCA Smoky Hill team to perform higher quality examinations, prompt the team to act with integrity and take responsibility for their mistakes, and discourage future customers from taking their advice without a second opinion.

They are always amazing. They always get my baby in and out in a timely manor, and always treat him with the best treatment. I appreciate them tremendously.

I feel like every time I take my dog in, I end up spending $200 more than planned. Today we had a wellness check and vaccines and my dog ended up needing drops for an ear infection. I walk up to the front with a total of $371!!! The vet didn’t communicate that this would be so much. There is no communication from this vet. And I also refuse to believe that ear drops cost $171 extra dollars. We had a similar incident with $200 antibiotics. I feel like they are just out to nickel and dime everyone and the service isn’t that great

I am new to Aurora and was nervous to try a new vet for my fur babies, considering they had the best care back home....but, I was pleasantly surprised with how warm, kind, efficient, and attentive everyone was with my animals. I am confident we will keep going here throughout our stay in Aurora. Even with the social distancing restrictions in place, the care felt very personable! My pets came out of there calm and happy. :)

You’ll never see the same person twice. Staff turnover rate is bad. Also, they obviously don’t communicate amongst each other. I made an appointment. Showed up for the appointment early and then was told I wasn’t on the schedule. They always find a way to add all sorts of additional charges and services to your business. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. It’s a shame because this place USED TO BE great

My wife and I do not have kids so our two Labradors are our family in every form of the word. So when we moved to the are two years ago we were nervous about finding a Dr. we could trust that cared for our family members as well as we do. We have been taking Boone & Kip to the great folks at Smoky Hill Vet Clinic for 2 years now and they have been AWESOME! We just recently had to say good bye to our 13 year old Kip and through the entire process of diagnosing, explaining and helping us through the process the crew here could not have been any better. It is refreshing to know we have a team like this that is so caring and helpful. Thanks again for everything the great employees here do each day!
