We’ve been with Banfield Walnut for about 10-11 years now and I’ll say that we have been satisfied with the care that our fur babies received. I will not say that’s it’s always satisfactory. I’ve received some not so good services too but overall, my fur babies are happy and have been taken cared well. The Vets and staff has been responsive and caring. They have time to answer all my questions and concerns. I can see and feel that they treated my babies and me as part of the Banfield family. Keep up the good work and stay safe all the time Shout out to Dr M and his staff ( sorry, I didn’t get the names, but I’m sure you know who you are :) Again, thank you!

Owners, beware of this clinic if you are serious about the health of your pets. This place does not take your pet's health into consideration and only care about what is convenient for them. The poor quality of care I have experienced when dealing with the "professionals" at this clinic both administratively and medically is unfathomable. We have been with this Banfield for 8 years now for our 2 huskies. Our first husky was brought in when he was only a few month's old for vaccination and preventive care purposes. Banfield suggested that we purchase their health plan to cover our dog's medical expenses, so we did. Through out the years the "professionals" at Banfield always told us that our dog was healthy and there is nothing to worry about even though we had expressed our concerns that our husky sometimes struggle to breath. During our most recent encounter with banfield (July, 2021), we wanted to schedule appointment because our 8 year old husky was coughing, throwing up foam, and had difficulty catching his breath; however, banfield turned us away and stated that "We are too busy right now and do not have time to provide care for your dog, just take them to emergency if you want." With no other choice we decided to take our pet elsewhere and found out that he suffered from a collapsed lung. We had to pay out of pocket to get out husky seen elsewhere and banfield would not reimburse any percentage of it. What is the point of purchasing the health plan if banfield is just going to use the excuse that they are too busy to examine our pets? When we called in to inquire about what our plan covers and if there is anything we can do, they used the same excuse again. "Hey look, we are really busy today ok? I can't answer your questions right now." then proceeded to hang up the phone. If you are looking for professionals for your pets both medically and administratively this is not the place. Even though most of the review on here are rosy and peachy I can guarantee you that they have decreased in quality over the years. I'm not sure if their receptionists are new hire or not but they are rude, impatient, and needs to go through customer training for proper manners and etiquette when communicating with others.

I understand covid restrictions, however... Could have mentioned I needed to drop my dog off for 6 hours, when I made the appointment.

Love the vets here. Currently you have to wait in your car. They are quick if you have an appointment not sure how you walk in.

We started taking our kitty to this Banfield Pet Hospital about 5 months ago when we got him. We were admittedly a little skeptical taking him to this vet since it was in a PetSmart, but we had found our little guy outside and he needed a checkup as soon as possible. There was an offer online for a free first checkup, so we took advantage of it -- great offer and awesome service! We decided to put our Pepper on a pet plan that they offer as he was a baby and would be needing vaccinations as well as his neutering which would all be covered with his plan. It costs about $30/month but is definitely worth it if you have many vaccinations ahead of you. Things such as his Feline Leukemia Vaccine, Rabies, Deworming, and fecal testing are covered in our plan, but anything extra such as Benadryl, nail trimming, or flea prevention are extra costs. Just note that these checkups normally take a few hours! Sometimes it's nice though, there's a Starbucks and multiple eating spots nearby so there's always time to grab a bite and walk around as you wait, and still have time to go home and get things done. Pepper loves the vet and he's happy and healthy as can be!

We urgently needed a booster for our dogs in order to board them. We had called all over and Banfield in Walnut, saved us. They even extended our arrival time several times as we were stuck in traffic. This is the second time we have needed urgent care and were unable to get in to see our regular veteran.

This review is a long time coming. I just get so busy, that I don't have time to write one. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started coming here, heard mixed reviews about Banfield in general. But I had a pretty bad experience with another local vet Walnut Valley Animal Hospital off Nogales. They 4 times on 4 separate occasions were supposed to contact us with the results of a test for our cat, and failed each time. In contrast, Dr. Telarroja is absolutely phenomenal. One of the best vets I can ever recall having spoken with. I have never once had the impression that she is running a business with her focus on profit, which to be honest is what I expected from Banfield. Instead, Dr. Telarroja is very patient and kind enough to explain in great detail what is going on with your pet. I can see in the way she presents herself and talks about your animal family member that she cares deeply for animals and that she chose this profession for that reason and not because she was focused on the monetary benefit of being a vet. Each and every time that something has happened with one of our dogs or our cat she has always fully detailed what the next steps were. I trust her decision making and advice as much as any person who has ever spoken to me about animals. We have the Wellness Plan for 3 of our pets currently. This is a FANTASTIC VALUE. It's about $55 to $60 a month or so depending on what level you take but it includes a once a year Dental cleaning under anesthesia. The dental cleaning is absolutely needed to prolong the life of your loved animal companion. That Dental cleaning alone without the plan is a little over $500. It also includes all of their vaccinations.(I think) That alone covers the cost of the yearly plan coming in at around $660-$720 a year in total payments. In addition they can come into the vet anytime for visits. I thought when they first offered it, that it seemed like just a profit generating plan. But it's not. It's well worth it. The staff here at Banfield is also really helpful and caring for pets in general. I forget the gentleman's name but he is often at the front desk and I believe is like a department manager or something, really polite and thoughtful as well. If you live anywhere near this location and even if you had a bad Banfield experience in the past, give Dr. Telarroja and her staff a chance. You won't regret it, and your pets will love you for it. And Get the Wellness Plan.
