I would not recommend this vet Moore for birds. She isn't compassionate when you have a small bird who needs to be put to sleep. Even though I had emergency appointment she still made the bird wait and the bird was in extreme pain

My 8 year old dwarf rabbit randomly started acting odd one morning. Needing emergency help I sent out 25 calls to vets in the area and not a single person was able to get me in that day. Except for when I got a call back from Moore's 40 miles away who said that even though they were absolutely jam packed, would find a way to fit us in. After getting us in they worked immediately to take the rabbit back and while we couldn't see our rabbit in the meantime due to their smaller facilities, they got back to us in just a few hours with the results of him having a life threatening bladder stone. At this age survival is a bit slimmer due to recovery and what not and the doctor let us know this but we decided to proceed as the only other option was him passing away due to being unable to pee. Thankfully he survived due to the doctors amazing work. We were given every instruction possible for after-care and every product as well too. They followed up days after to check on his recovery which is thoughtful. Two months later and here we are in the present, my bunny is still with me enjoying old age pain free. For that I'm eternally grateful. Thank you again to everyone at Moore Veterinary Care.

We made an appointment took our dog after we called and confirmed the appointment and we were told we didn't have an appointment and that they couldn't see our dog that has been having seizures completely ridiculous.

Excellent care! My cat recently fell and injured her leg. She was limping badly and clearly in a lot of pain. I called at least a dozen vets in the area, and they were all booked for weeks. There are two emergency vets in town: Horizon and VMSG. Horizon isn't taking any new patients, even for emergencies, and VMSG is outrageously expensive. Dr. Moore's office was willing to see my cat within 24 hours! The only caveat was that I needed to be a little patient because they were going to squeeze me in between other appointments. Waiting a few minutes vs waiting several weeks or spending a huge amount of money at VMSG was a no brainer. The day of the appointment the staff was extremely friendly and competent. They moved like a well-oiled machine and were very efficient. I waited my turn and then Dr. Moore gave may cat a very thorough exam and treatment plan. They started treatment immediately. Dr. Moore is awesome! She has decades of experience, is highly skilled, ridiculously smart, down to earth, empathetic, focused on what's best for the animal and with no up-sell pressure. In fact, she talked me out of treatment options that wouldn't be worthwhile. Her support staff is awesome too. They are kind, patient and really care about animals. They went out of their way to make sure I was aware of all my medication options and talked me through each one to determine which would be best for my budget and my cat. I was relieved and grateful for being treated with so much respect and goodwill when I was a new patient that was squeezed between other appointments! While I was there, I saw other patients being treated with the same level of kind, efficient professionalism. While we were chatting, I asked why it was so hard to get vet appointments since covid began. They explained the obvious: more people have pets, more people are getting around to the pet maintenance they previously put off, etc. But they also shared that there is a high suicide rate amongst vets and that new vets are going out of business because the pressure is too great to bear. It's not that the animals are too much, but the demanding and aggressive pet owners just wear them down. That's so tragic. These people spend their lives becoming excellent in their field based on their love of animals only to be abused by the humans. Please be kind to vets and staff. They are working under very difficult circumstances to take care of our fur babies. They are suffering too. Please be patient and respectful. If you go see Dr. Moore and find that you have a little bit of a wait, please understand that they have been working over time since covid began and are bending over backwards to care for animals that otherwise wouldn't get care, or get timely treatment in the event of an emergency. A little patience and kindness would go a long way to support them while they support you and all the other fur babies they care for. I highly recommend this vet!

Dr Moore is so caring. She saw my bunny on an emergency basis— and just fit her into her schedule between her other appointments. She is not a rabbit specialist but she was able to help us keep our rabbit alive. She has been a bun mom to three. She also has a window for you to sit in front of so you can communicate with her throughout the duration of the visit.

Dr, Karen Moore is the best. Go here first with your beloved pet for the best and current medical services. I have had experience with the good doctor for decades. None are better at the craft and science of taking care of your pet as well as being more caring and more professional, all of which is set in an unrushed peaceful environment.

They did there job. The only bad thing was I brought 4 kittens(3 months) who were abandon by their mother, and a dog (1 year) and there was no deal if you brought more than one animal. I paid about 150 per cat and 200 for the dog. ???? So I just lost my savings for moving.????

Update! Izzy is doing great! Thank you Moore Veterinary Care. We came home to our 8-year-old Rabbit and his neck was tilted, it really freaked us out! Our local Vet gave us Moore Veterinary Care number. The staff was professional, helped us calm down and we were in within 24 hours. When we arrived we were expecting your typical Vet office, not at all. We felt like we were in our small home town again, we loved it! They found creative ways to stay open with Covid restrictions ???????????? and we are grateful they did, there's not a lot of options for exotic animals. They were informative, personable, and took all necessary action to help our little guy ????

Love Moore Veterinary!! I have been taking my pets to Dr Moore for the last 10 years. I'm happy to have the option of a home town vet instead of a chain!

Dr.Moore is the best vet. She is knowledeable, professional, quick and caring! She has treated our cats multiple times, for regular check up and emergency situations. The team is great as well, always able to answer my hundreds of questions. The office may be small but it does not lack in anyway, only gives cute charm in my opinion. Highly recommend :) And our Ash is doing amazing thanks to everyone at Moore Veterinary Care!

Dr. Moore completely helped my dog Bleu with her skin irritation. When I got Bleu, her skin would flake horribly and she would not stop scratching. Dr. Moore gave me some medication and a shampoo for Bleu's skin. Within a week or 2 she was perfectly healthy. Dr. Moore and her staff are absolute professionals who care for the well being of your pets. Highly recommend.

My dog hurt his leg at the park and Dr. Moore was able to see us that day. She stayed past her operating hours to look at my little buddy. She helped us out and I really appreciated it. The vet I used to go to said they couldn't see him for a month. I'm glad we called Moore Veterinary Care.

I'm not sure I'd come back. The doctor was nice enough but the space is tiny and needs to be updated, there was confusion about which flea, tick, and heartworm medications my dog should be on and there's no pharmacy so you can't walk out with the treatments you need.

WOW! In such a short time, Dr. Moore and her team have made an incredibly positive impression considering the level and quality of service given. We just adopted a two year old husky, Jolene, who has been given the upmost care and treatment. The piece of mind given by Dr. Moore and her wonderful team has been so pleasant and reassuring. Special thanks to: Karen, Sonya, and Asia!

I was able to have my snake seen as immediately as the morning after I first saw symptoms of a possible respiratory infection. The team was very communicative with me and made sure I was able to be seen. The Doctor seemed very familiar with snake handling, husbandry, and treatment - which is not a characteristic shared among all exotic vets. I will definitely be going back for a follow up if necessary :)

Do not take your pet to Dr. Moore's veterinary clinic. Barnabus, our rabbit, was killed there yesterday. He was only 3 years old and perfectly healthy. We took him in to Moore Veterinary Clinic here in Ventura for a check up and urinalysis. Due to very poor handling by Dr. Moore and her staff, they caused Barnabus to go into shock. He died within minutes in their care. The last thing I heard was a loud squeal from Barnabus. I was in complete shock. I didn’t know what to say or how to react. I patted him on the head before they took him to the back for the urinalysis, then minutes later I was looking at his dead body. He had bonded mates that he does not get to return to and they don’t get to understand his absence. I can’t recommend you avoid Moore Veterinary clinic enough. If you don’t believe me, then at the very least NEVER let them take your pet out of your sight. I have been going to that clinic for the past few years. I felt safe there for my pets and enjoyed friendly conversations with Dr. Moore. Her and I chatted beforehand for a while before she was delivering Barnabus’s dead body to me. She in no way took responsibility and simply explained it away as a freak accident. This is someone who I was always friendly with. Afterwards she had the audacity to say “sorry for your loss”. As if Barnabus died of natural causes and she wasn’t responsible for any of it. It was a betrayal. I was in shock and had no words. This is a senseless tragedy and we are still mourning and dumbfounded by it. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO MOORE VETERINARY CLINIC. I fear for the safety of any animals that enter there. If a veterinarian and her staff cannot do a simple thing such as handle an animal safely, how can you possibly trust Dr. Moore’s judgment and diagnosis?

I have taken my animals to Dr. Moore's clinic for some time now and I will continue to take any of my animals here. I don't feel jipped here because I know me and my pets will only get the best advice and treatment. She isn't doing this for the money, she is doing this because it is her passion. I will always recommend anyone to this local clinic when I get the chance to.

When I moved back to Ventura I needed to re-establish care for my dog. I had heard from some friends that the doctor was great but not until my dog got treated did I understand why. She truly cares. She gets to know the animals as well as the people. You can tell she puts herself into her practice and she has staff who shares her passion. I will bring my animals to her and trust her to care for them long into their older age. You need to trust her to treat your animals and provide what they need and not just anything that can be thrown at them. Bring your pets here for a guiding hand by a true pet lover.
