Birds Plus Van Nuys, California

Been coming to this store since the 90's. The owner, Lloyd, has always been friendly and helpful, and a great source for advice over the years. Always a smile and a positive attitude. I recently started coming back to the store for food and supplies after my parrot moved back in with me following nearly a decade keeping my mom company in Northern Cal. So happy to see this great resource is still there and the sunny and warm greetings from Lloyd still a nice bonus whenever I walk in.

Beautiful birds unfortunately most of the exotic birds aren't for sale.

1st time there. The owner was very helpful. All sorts of birds on display. Made a comment about bringing grandchildren there, and he said definitely. More birds than some zoo's aviary

Absolutely rude !!!!!!!! Were of NO help. Every question I asked they would so “no”. Not nice at all. How can you not know the answer to these questions? You work in a bird shop.

Great place. The owner is knowledgeable and helpful. There is a wide variety of birds and accessories, food and cages.

Very knowledgeable staff. Their boarded flock is clearly very happy and healthy. Selection wasn't great, but I came in on off season so can't really fault them for that. The one star I left out would be earned if there was more clarity between boarded flock and flock available to home. All in all, I would certainly recommend this store.

Fantastic shop. Been a customer for years. Great product selection of feed, habitat supplies. An incredibly knowledgeable and helpful staff. Highly recommend.

Lloyd is the best he really cares about his birds I have been coming here since my childhood

I drove from Rosemond, to Palmdale, to Santa Clarita, and to Pacoima. None of these places had a cage I was looking for, and if they did they were overpriced. I came here and the owner gave me an honest price. I am DEFINITELY coming back next month. I starred this place for future purchases. 100% recommend.

Saw the reviews for this store and decided to make the hour trek to see their birds. I even called to confirm they had birds available. The man behind the counter said that none of the birds in the store were for sale once we started asking about the birds available. He told us to come back in a couple months, and we did. He told us again no birds were for sale. We've been there 4 times now, no birds are for sale.. I find it interesting that I see so many people in the comments section having recently purchased birds, when we've been there now several times with zero birds for sale and no wait lists either...I guess he doesn't want me to buy one of his birds...

I love this place! It’s so clean and the birds are so CUTE! The prices though, yikes ????. I would recommend it, but for people that have lot’s of money. There’s a macaw that will wave at you and say, “Hi!” I’m pretty sure they learned it from people that came near the cage and say hi to the birds.

These guys are the best in town for boarding and supplies!!

i really love this place, wish the birds had more toys tho, and some need a nail trim, but the birds are really cute and they have a lot of selections cages and toys and a bunch more, if your looking for a conure a macaw or a cockatoo and more just come here !!

Don’t know how they have almost 5 stars. The birds were in filthy conditions and extremely stressed to the point of plucking. It was absolutely heartbreaking to walk into this shop. Pretty sure most of the good reviews on here are fake customers.

Very...very...VERY disappointed! Horrible customer service! Did not sell a bird to me claiming ALL and EVERY SINGLE bird in the store was sold!!!! Drove all the way from San Diego to this store because it was featured un a you-tubers video to come to this disappointment! Although I try to look beyond racial issues...i felt discriminate! And trust me i AVOID playing this card! Horrible not only for me but for my 12 year old daughter.

it's a great one stop shop for your parrots needs and the staff are so nice.

The person behind the counter was very personable and helpful. He also made my Opals first nail trim experience great, quick and easy. As well as giving me advice with aftercare which I had no idea because I'm a first time bird owner.

Would give zero stars if possible. Pushy, rude, and uncommunicative staff make pet parents feel bad about their pet-rearing choices and when given the opportunity actually make those choices without the owner's consent. My friend took her bird to them for the second time and this time they didn't stop at the condescending and antagonistic lecture, they actually clipped her bird's wings without any consent or communication of any sort. Behavioral issues have, predictably, ensued. Far from wanting the animals in their care to be happy and comfortable with coming back, the individuals at this establishment are callous and uncaring. Do not bring your feathered loved ones here.
