Este lugar es muy malo no traigan sus mascotas aquí ellos saben que los animales están muy enfermos y no dicen la verdad solo para sacar dinero ellos no piensan en el dolor que provocan solo les interesa lo monetario. Especialmente si son …

Worst vet hospital in existence. Took our kitty here. He was very sick. The vet told us during the consultation that our baby needed a "life saving" surgery. After the surgery, when our baby was on life support, the doctors told us that he was "too weak" for the surgery and recommended to have him "euthenized". They failed to say that before the surgery, killed our baby, and sucked $1100 out of us, and were trying to suck more money out of us. Not ethical at all. Plus, they charged $100 per over night care and only took care of our baby until midnight when the staff ALL goes home. Then, demanded $200 more to have an urgent care vet stay "after hours". Not only are these people VULTURES, but they are unethical. They LIE to ALL of their patients about them taking care of your pets overnight when the truth is the staff upstairs is all gone. SMH.

I am angry at myself for never bringing my dog across the border. My dog got hit by a car several weeks back and her vet charged me $1,000 just to patch her up with a few stitches. He said that her ligaments were ruptured and he couldn't repair. Sent me to an orthopedic surgeon for a TPLO procedure for which I was being charged over $8k without the Xrays, MRI's, consult, anestheologist, and follow up appts. I found Vet playas across the border and they did a few procedures and added some implants on her for under $2k. She was very well taken care of and her Dr. was very sweet. I also got her bathed and groomer for $20!!!???? mind you... she is a shepherd husky mix. LA groomers could never charge that for a large dog ????. They did an awesome job taking care of my baby ????‍????.

I love this place. Excelent sevice with knowledable vets, who really care about your animal, and will be straight forward with what's wrong, what needs to be done. My dog roxy pit bull tore her Acl. United states 5 grand. Plyas mexico 14 hundred. With the most excrllent service.two weeks after the surgery my baby was back to normal.. 5 years later roxy injured her spine in two places and after the MRI the doctorsvtold me that surgery could only fix like 10% of what's wrong with roxy. So they said now its about quality of life well roxy is healthy, besides her spin so I am getting her a wheel chair and medication. I believe doctors here in the U.S would have tried sugery for the money. So thank you Vet Plyas, to all your staff and doctors. Roxy and I thank you very much.. Joseph,Roxy, Veling

I want to preface this by stating it’s my first review of any kind regarding services or products. Just not a good value of my time. THIS IS AN EXCEPTION. Our beagle Toby required his eye removed due to a malignant tumor and San Diego vets ( mostly owned now by VCA) quoted $3500-$4K for the 1-2 hour operation with meds etc. Long story short….for the entire entire procedure including several meds, overnight stay to monitor his blood pressure, follow up visit to remove stitches and a complete pathology of his removed eye, Vets Playa charged $550! The doctor texted us post surgery to make sure how Toby was doing and if we had any questions. The only negative is the 2 hour wait to get through the border but well worth it! I have recommended them to my kids and anyone else who would require veterinary care.

Went to the clinic for our follow up appointment. They were supposed to remove some drain tubes from stitches on my dog which were done a week ago. Not only did they remove the drains but also removed the stitches!. The stitches were supposed to be removed after the first week of January once they had healed, they gave me back my dog with opened wounds… leaking blood on their floor. When I asked the Dr. Why they removed the stitches she said that the stitches were already off before the dog came in????? I told her she was mistaken and that they needed to stitch my dog back up. I asked a second time why the stitches had been removed and now she said that they looked like they had scabbed over and that that was the instructions given to her. From who? I don’t know. I’m no veterinarian but even I would know that the stitches were fresh. A professional would know right? Plus they gave my dog back to me with two gaping wounds bleeding. She was reluctant to stitch my dog back up but she did. Although now the new stitches didn’t even close up the wounds like before. It was like they just threw a couple of stitches on him just to get us out of their hair. It took them less then 20 minutes to return the dog back to me, probably didn’t even sedate him. I was not happy about any of this. I came back into the clinic and complained but they refused to fix their mistake. She said that she had another appointment an there was nothing she could do for us… have a nice day!! I was only asking for them to fix their mistake nothing more. This place need to be held accountable for its negligence and bad customer service, especially from the Vet. She also tried to sell me more meds!! Horrible experience. Now my dog is going to heal with very prominent scars. There was no communication with her staff it was all a big joke for them… even making fun and sly remarks. Very unprofessional and negligent. It’s unfortunate and I know that we all have bad days at work but this situation was handled very unprofessional.

Vet Playas seems to be suffering from scaling issues. Getting a side dog grooming appointment or purchasing any product is very slow. Getting someone on the phone is a challenge due to their "automated" phone system. Overall they are a very reliable and good vet / grooming place but should shift how they handle their different businesses.

Best Staff, Best doctors, so man y happy patients I met while there. I drove my cat all the way from Tucson, and the scenery made the trip well worth it. Most beautiful oceans, I arrived in the middle of the night and they were open for emergencies. If you live far- make a mini-vacation out of it. Cheap, beautiful rooms at the la madmesiell "hostell" lovely home with nice rooms. Ocean was magnificent. Looked great for surfing. Bring a boogie board. Yummy Pizza- Best I've ever had- at the one right on pacific ocean . Great sushi too. ???? cheap, fun. Delicious. Made me want to sell my home and move. Very safe- not like the regular Tijuana. Not too far from border, just far enough away to be lovely.

If only I knew to bring my baby Molly, our 3 yr old cat, here sooner. They would of been able to save her life! After waiting 2 weeks for just an appt for VSH in san diego, as well as being passed from one test to another and $1200 worth of vet bills in san diego, a month later a friend suggested to take our cat with a growing tumor to TJ. I instantly knew that was going to be the answer. We found Vet Playas, the reviews read to be amazing and the website to be trusted. Vet Playas made us an appointment for the next day. $26 exam/consult fee and $90 biopsy along with a few other tests like a urine test and blood test. They examined her, spoke to us for an hour with knowledge, explanation of whats going on with her and what they can and cant to and explained the whys. She took her time and rather than rushed us and demanded money that was unreasonable, like the san diego vets. We knew we were in good care and Mollys life quite possibly could be saved. They explained that her Red blood cells were way too low, after waiting for maybe maybe 30 minutes. Very quick and efficient. They explained she would need a blood transfusion to survive surgery to remove the tumor growing on her chest. This all would be possible because of their attentive care and us advising we can use her sister to help her. They boarded her for the night to do the biopsy the next day to determine if its cancer or not, to determine how to remove the growth, so that we didnt have to drive back from SD and wait. They called us right about the same they said they would the night before, explaining that molly would be able to undergo the biopsy as her molly is far too fragile and could go into shock. They did the urine test to find out her kidneys had failed. She explained with care and compassion and sincerity that Molly could pass that evening or within the next week. She advised she can put her to sleep and do the biopsy or send her home for loving care and to say bye to her family. We took her home. A couple days later, she passed in our home. Sadly, they don't do necropsy , which is understandable. But my point is, this should be the FIRST place you take your sick pet to, for emergency and attentive care and affordable costs. VSH in San Diego is corrupt, and if I hadn't had to wait on the 2 weeks they made us wait for them to just do an exam, then Molly would of had time to get to Vet Playas to get the care she deserved. Thank you Vet Playas, I learned that there is humanity and affordable health care for our fur babies. Thank you for your compassion. I only have good things to share with my friends about you to hopefully save another pets life

READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. THEY ARE LONG AND VERY DESCRIPTIVE! READ THEM BEFORE TAKING YOUR PET HERE! HORRIBLE. My cat had surgery there that was $350 dlls and today she is bleeding from that surgery and I keep calling to ask if this is an emergency and I should take her ( I LIVE VERY FAR AWAY ) and all the responses I keep getting is that I need to bring her in to check, so more money??? so originally they told me it was an easy procedure then they changed it on me for her to get part of her TONGUE removed and I paid THAT much money for them to not be able to answer a question??? and they just want me to bring her in for me to pay even MORE? ALSO the appointment was at 5:30 and they didn't take her in until 6:30! an appointment that took me various calls to make even though i kept explaining the doctor told me to take her back right away!!! front desk is completely incompetent, rude and EXTREMELY unhelpful.

I had the best experience at this Vet hospital. I'm from San Diego, CA. By far this vet is better and more affordable than any vet in the area. My dog was bit in the face by another dog and her face swelled up after I had went to an emergency hospital in San Diego. When I came to TJ The doctor immediately knew what the problem was and explained it to us with detail. The procedure went well and we picked up our dog after she woke up from anesthesia. She had an abscess that needed draining. We came back for follow up check ups and every time we were attended immediately. Dra. Belen and her team are great ????

I’m sharing this for those who are interested in going here for orthopedic surgery. More specially, my dog got FHO surgery for hip dysplasia. I’m from San Diego so I checked the reviews for this place and checked out the surgeon who is supposedly known for orthopedics so I thought this would be a great place (specially the price). We got his surgery done and they recommended we go to physical therapy to help his recovery. We took our dog to a rehab center with vets and surgeons, and they took at look at his post-op x-rays and said that the surgery wasn’t done right, they didn’t cut a big chunk of bone that for this specific surgery was needed to be done. We took the x-rays to another place and they told us the exact same thing. I talked to Ron and he said they “stand by their products” so basically wouldn’t get a refund or anything. If anything they would probably try to go in and “fix” it but I didn’t trust them to go inside my dog again at this point. I still wanted to talk to the surgeon for an explanation and I have not heard back from them. We got his surgery fixed here by a surgeon in San Diego and they said they found a piece of bone flying around in there that they missed. I know the price may seem super nice compared to US prices but you really do get what you pay for. I would not recommend or trust them them for any procedures.

This was first time visiting this vet, honestly I would not recommend it for lack of communication and making you do unnecessary services to get your money. At the beginning I thought they had good service as they did squeeze me in with a same day appt. My apt was at 3 I ended up getting seen at 4:30pm, bc they saw me last minute I was ok with the time delay. The vet checked my dog, i took her in bc she had thrown up all night; the Vet recommended to do ultrasounds and blood work. I told her i just gave her blood work and ultrasound recently then she said she needed to keep her for observations. After two hours of observations I didn't hear a response and started to get worried (they said they were going to keep her for 1.5 hrs.) After coming in to check on my dog they told me the vet had left already, I was NOT informed of what was wrong with my dog and on top of that they forgot to give me her meds. They did offered to ship them over but what was really upsetting was THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION. My dog is my world so of course I was worried. My dog did get better and I did get a small refund - which i was expecting more than that. SKIP THIS VET.

I want to share my great experience at the Vet Playas Veterinary hospital in Tijuana. From the moment I contacted Ronald Richards and his professional team and expressed to them about a surgery ordered by a clinic in the United States and that I should do as soon as possible to my miniature poodle since Diamond could not walk due to problems of bilateral medial patellar dislocation in which this hospital advised me that she should be operated on, and a titanium plate was going to be placed on her knee. Throughout the process the hospital staff including the receptionists knew exactly what my pet's procedure was as well as her name. Before and after surgery I receive text messages and videos letting me know the state of health and stability of my pet. I am truly happy with the wonderful work everyone did at this hospital in treating my pet with kindness and compassion. Dr. Josely Orozco was very kind and clear in explaining the surgery procedure. Before coming to Tijuana, I had many doubts and uncertainty about what could happen to my pet since I read comments from many other veterinarians in which many people had had terrible experiences and had even lost their pets due to the bad practice and negligence of both the doctors and the professional group. I recommend Vet Playas Veterinary in Tijuana if in any case you are in a situation that your pet needs orthopedic surgery, this hospital has excellent surgeons. I travel from Cape Coral, Florida for this procedure and I am very pleased with Diamon’s recovery process. Sandra Pineda

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience and had we not changed our mind and brought our dog home, Vet Playas would have made a mistake that would have affected our dog negatively. The doctor didn't call us after the exam as promised, they didn't send x-rays, the x-ray equipment isn't what's required for tooth x-rays, they didn't get our permission to remove our dogs tooth, but instead went to surgery and started to remove a tooth that could have been saved, and then we found out that they gave our dog shots we didn't request. We do not trust this vet company with our pets and so we won't every go back. A more detailed account of what happened is below. Our dog is 14 months and chipped one of her canine teeth. It was so bad that she either needed a root canal or the tooth pulled if it couldn't be saved. Both options were very expensive here in the US and so we decided to have Vet Playas in Mexico do it. We used a service in San Diego that took our dog across the border and brought her back so that we didn't have to drive down in Mexico. I talked to the owner of Vet Playas and the scheduler and they both knew that we wanted to save the tooth if possible because she's young and it's a canine tooth. They also confirmed that after the doctor examined our pet, the doctor would call us to explain what they had found. If the tooth needed to be pulled then they would send x-rays so that we can see the damage ourselves and verify the tooth would need to be pulled. Instead, we got a call from someone at the front desk that didn't speak very good English. It was very hard to figure out what she was saying but eventually I understood that our dog was now in surgery and the tooth was being removed. I was shocked. We never got a call from the doctor and we never saw x-rays. I told her to stop the surgery and do NOT pull that tooth until the doctor calls us and sends x-rays. I asked why they hadn't called me for permission to pull the tooth when I was promised that they would and she said that the ok was given by the pet transport company from San Diego. But I'm the owner, why would you ask them?! When I talked to the pet transport company, they said that they did not give permission for the tooth to be pulled. They said "we're not the owners and we knew you didn't want it pulled, we would never give permission for that." When I talked to the owner about it, he said maybe it was a language misunderstanding. But it turns out the guy that works for the transport speaks perfect Spanish and the owner knows that and so I don't believe the owner was being honest; he was just trying to blame someone other than the staff who royally screwed up. I also explained to the owner, even if the transport company did give permission, why were they asked?! They're not the pet owner! We ended up getting the x-rays but it was very hard to see if there was a problem or not. By that point we lost all faith in this Vet company and decided we wanted our dog brought home ASAP. We took our dog to our local dental vet and we showed the vet the x-rays. Our vet here said that the x-rays weren't dental x-rays which are required to see the tooth well enough to make the correct decision. The vet here said that based on these images, there was no way for her to decide if the tooth could be saved or not. Today was the appointment for our dog. They put her under, did proper x-rays, and then called to tell us that her tooth was in great shape and that it could be saved with a root canal. That was great news. Thank God we left Vet Playas because they would have pulled a canine tooth on our young dog when it could have been saved. Then we found out that they did things to our dog that we didn't ask for. They dewormed her, they gave her flea and tick medicine (something we had just done), they gave her a rabies shot, etc. I have no idea how they stay in business but our pets are part of our family and I would never risk anything happening to them by a vet company that has proven themselves to be very irresponsible with the care of our pet.

We took our cat who had previously been operated elsewhere, from the minute they took our cat in they were caring and attentive. Unfortunately, our cat did not make it due to an infection from the previous vet, but vet playas gave our cat the comfort during his last moments. During his stay at the hospital the doctors had great communication via what’s app. The cremation services were also a plus. I only wish I had found them sooner

I love this place, my dog's teeth fixed at a cost of spend $300 over $3,000 in the United States. Today I took my dog in and they were super accommodating as he had an injured leg under $100 including medication. The office is nice, the people are nice and speak English very well. My dog loves coming here, no lie. This place reminds me of what the United States was before there were so many pools in laws to make everything expensive and ruin everything good.
