My friend and I brought my dog Bleu (1.5 years old) on Sept 1st for the doggy daycare. He was up to date on his vaccinations and had just received his annual check up. I dropped him off at 8:30 am in the primary day care room and was made aware from a friend at 10:30 am that the facility had 3 little sick dogs and had advised her not to drop off her dog. I was never contacted by the staff at the facilty. After I heard from my friend, I contacted the facility and was told my dog Bleu was not in contact with the 3 sick dogs and had not been in the same room as them. The lady at the facility informed me they had isolated the 3 sick dogs and that Bleu was happy and safe in another room and advised I could leave him there for the rest of the day. She ended up comping the price of Wednesday daycare. I brought him back Saturday from 12-5:00 pm and asked about the sick dogs. They told me the lab results were pending and they had not heard of any other sick dogs from any other dog owners. On Monday morning at 4:00 am, Bleu woke up coughing (almost choking) and could not stop. I brought him to the vet Tuesday for tests and was told by the vet that he most likely has influenza and a respiratory infection from the sick dogs. When I called back to the daycare on Tuesday, I spoke with a man saying they had still not heard about the lab results and that only 2 dogs were sick. When I asked more about the sick dogs he seemed to downplay the severity of the situation. He also reassured me that only 2 dogs had been sick and my dog Bleu was the third dog they had been notified was sick. Now, my dog Bleu has had to recieve 3 antibiotic shots, 3 days of fluid and had to spend the day at the vet under critical surveillance. I have now spent over $1000 on vet fees and have not been contacted by the daycare at all. Their response to this situation is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Please keep you pets AWAY from here!!!! It is not worth the pain and suffering your dog will endure.

I have an 8 year old Lhasa apso that loves Sam’s! We’ve used all of their services; grooming, daycare, and boarding. We’ve never had an issue in the past five years that we’ve been going. Everyone is super friendly and it’s obvious everyone loves the dogs they work with. I would highly recommend them. We can’t say “daycare” at home anymore because our pup gets super excited and thinks he’s going to Sam’s to see all of his friends!

They don't accept pit bulls. Even the sweetest least aggressive of dogs... if it has even a little bit of pit in it... forget about it. Find somewhere else.

They are rude and even refused my sweet dog, because he is a pitbull. Absolutely pathetic. Not to mention all the horror stories of people leaving their dog with them. DO NOT LEAVE UR DOG WITH THIS PEOPLE.

These people don’t accept pit bulls. They were so rude and let an aggressive husky in but denied my sweet 1 year old pit bull. Sad, really.

I brought my dog here to get his nails clipped a few times. Two out of the 5 times he came back with bloody nails. The last time I went and brought him home I noticed he was obsessively licking his paw. They cut one of his nails so poorly and in such an awful angle that there was blood gushing down his fur. I liked that they had a la carte options, but it seems like they're too rushed to do a good job. Not coming back here.

Walked up, got our pup's nails trimmed. They did it fast, extremely cheaply and he wasn't any more traumatized than when we try to do it ourselves, which is all I can ask!

I boarded my golden retriever for a week at Sam's a little over a month ago and had a terrible experience. I would highly discourage anyone from boarding here. My dog contracted Bordatella / kennel cough while at the facility. Sam's management handled this situation very very poorly, and it not only speaks poorly about how they do business and their character, but more importantly how little they care about animals. Sam's is supposed to check that all dogs have their Bordatella shots before boarding them and failed to do so (obviously because my dog was healthy before he got there). After taking my dog to get diagnosed at the vet, all Sam's did was offer to pay the vet bill, which was like $60 (which they still haven't reimbursed me for). And there's not much the vet can do with kennel cough unless the dog has respiratory issues bordering on pneumonia. Sam's should have offered to refund the boarding fee as well, which was about $300. I was stuck the next two weeks and it was raining outside and I could not board my dog at K9 or another boarding place obviously because I didn't want my dog to pass along what he got at Sam's. I could have elected to just board my dog at the veterinarian and passed the bill to Sam's, which would have cost thousands. All I asked was my boarding fee to be refunded. I eventually rejected the charges through Amex. Makes a great small claims case.

Our dog is always extremely clean when he is finished with his grooming here. I knocked off one star because our dog hates it, which I don't think is necessary- dislikes Sam's even more than the vet.

I took my dog Jasper here every month for the past 6 months or so and everything was fine and I liked that they didn’t take all day to groom him. Every time I take him in I very specifically tell them to clean his hears because Jasper, being a standard poodle, doesn’t shed at all, so his ear hairs need to be plucked. We took took Jasper to the vet today because there was some dirty substance in his ears, like crude oil. The vet found out that there was hair clumped up deep down his ears and the ear wax turned completely black, all that causing an ear infection. We trusted them with the well being of our pet; for $115 per grooming none the less. The only thing I personally really insisted on—cleaning out the ears—they didn’t do, causing us $280 vet visit. AVOID THIS PLACE

Our dog is old, blind, diabetic and has a hearing loss . He comes out looking like a puppy every time. They also brush his teeth. When Jeter comes home, he acts like a puppy again!

My first visit to SGP was rather surprising... I think most of us don't want to have to research -- let alone worry -- such places. That was 5 years ago. Six years later... we're back in Cali., and needed a grooming appointment for our Shih Tzu, Kitty. With the exception of the indifferent, Curt rep in front...things went just as before. My little girl is beautiful. Good work guys. Lose the Biotch though!

I love Sam's!!! Their grooming and boarding is excellent. I've never had an issue with their service. My dogs look fabulous after they're groomed and they're always happy to go. In fact, they pull the leash to get in the door! I trust the staff and highly recommend their services. FYI, I did not get a discount by writing this recommendation as some local groomers offer. My advice: be very careful when researching the local grooming shops.

We have been going tti Sam's for over twenty five years. He treats your pet with the same love and care as you would. One of the best groomers in the city. Plus now there is doggie daycare and overnights also.
