We’ve been going there for years with all our big and small animals. Recently I have a dog with ear issues and stomach issues. No matter what issues I have, I know Bader and Dr.Lopez are there with answers to all my questions, and Dr.Bader is not afraid to be honest when he doesn’t know, but he always finds out. I began to take my dogs there to become more comfortable with the vet and the staff love to see them come in and get on the floor and play with them. Now my dog perks up when he hears “vet”. I will be sad to see Bader retire

I have had used shingle springs vet clinics since 2017 when we moved to Shingle springs, Dr. Bader has seen two of our horses, both our Dogs and has answered many questions on the rest of our farm animals health over the phone through his professional staff. One of our Dogs had a bowel obstruction from eating a sock that required surgical intervention When we brought Kate our French mastiff home we got a phone call the next day inquiring how Kate was doing after being under general anesthesia. I would recommend shingle Springs veterinary clinic especially Dr. Bader to any of my friends with animals.

Awesome place!! It's clean, the people are friendly and professional and best of all, you can tell the vet is in this business for the animals! They helped us out when we had a Thanksgiving emergency and we are SO grateful to them for that!! Thank you Shingle Springs Vet Clinic! ????

Dr. Lopez helped when no one else would!!! One of my younger rats was clearly experiencing an URI and in need of antibiotics asap. I was too worried to wait for our regular vet to see my little girl during the week, so I called clinic after clinic looking for help. I called at least 10 emergency clinics which all said they "only help dogs and cats". Ugh. Called these guys up as a sort of last ditch effort, and they said "bring her on in". I could care less about the hour long drive and 3 hour wait, they were the only emergency care clinic that would see my child!! Thanks to the antibiotics administered and prescribed, she's already feeling so much better.

The staff are lovely and it was reassuring to see how they handled my dog and paid close attention to her body language. They were patient with us, and made sure she was comfortable as possible.

I have had a number of appointments here over the years, and at least 4 emergency weekend or after hour visits. Dr. Bader is a rare find and beyond competent. Extremely happy with the care all of our animals have received.

I drive 30 mins just to go to this vet. It is a small facility with a big heart. Also am always able to get a appointment within a few days.. you are able to go in with your pet even during pandemic. They love your babies just like you do...The vet is knowledgeable and informs you of cost up front...and the staff is just plain amazing ❤️ Thank you SSVC for taking care of my fur babies teeth. Other vets just don't compare to your one on one attention...

Dr. Bader is a great doctor. I've been taking my German shepherds to him for years. Many times I've had to bring them in last minute and he always helps me out. His prices are very reasonable and his staff is awesome. I would highly recommend him.

Horrible experience!! I called before I went in, explained what was wrong with my dog. Dr told me to bring my baby in, he looked at him and said he needed surgery because he had a hernia, that he would be with me when he had a room available. After waiting 45 min he said he was going home and I would have to take my dog somewhere else. He referred me to VCA in Sacramento and the service there wasn't any better. I felt like my baby was unimportant to them and it was clear he was in pain. Heartless

Worst experience ever my 10 week old puppy was hurt bleeding from nose and not one single employee cared enough to even ask his name. They do not care about you’re animal do not trust them.

The first pet I brought to Shingle Springs Vet was my late husband's cat that had been mauled by a neighbor's dog (in our backyard! - but that's another story). Staff immediately recognized the seriousness of the injuries and took the cat in (about 7:00) even though there were other pets in the waiting room, and performed emergency procedures to stabilize the internal wounds. Someone was with the cat all night so that when I called during the night, I was able to get updates. The following morning, the doctor determined the cat needed more intensive care than could be provided at the clinic, and arranged for additional treatment and surgery in Sacramento. Two weeks later, our cat came home for a long recovery. Despite his massive internal injuries, he is alive and walking today, thanks to Shingle Springs Veterinary Clinic. Since then, Shingle Springs Clinic is our go-to vet for three cats; thankfully just minor issues since then.

Best vet I’ve ever had for our dogs. I recommend them to everyone I talk w/about animal care. Dr.Bader very caring @ animals & their owners, as is his staff. He combines traditional & holistic methods. We have never had a bad experience w/him or his staff. The only thing you should be aware of is, you may experience wait times when you have an appt, but it’s usually because they take emergencies 1st, of course. But the care your animal gets is worth the wait. Michelle Soria.

The staff is so compassionate and professional. They were there when other places were closed during a potential rattlesnake bite around 9 pm on 4/26. They got our dog in and out efficiently and quickly.

Wow, one of my cats was bitten by a rattlesnake. No one was around in Amador County, so I rushed him to Shingle Spings and he was taken care of right off. I love this clinic! Great response and everyone was so nice! He healed up in no time.

We had our puppy less than 24 hours when he fell extremely ill. Thank goodness for the Shingle Springs Vet Clinic being open late on a Sunday. Our little guy was quickly diagnosed with Parvo. He was immediately treated and then we were given antibiotics, a powder, Slippery Elm, IV, anti nausea medicine and a deworming shot to give him at the end of treatment if he made it. (We decided to treat him at home) Our puppy survived this horrible grueling illness! I want to thank all the staff at the Shingle Springs Vet Clinic for helping us save our puppy. Thank you for getting back to us in a timely manner every time we called with a question. I also want to note the fee that was charged for everything received was very reasonable ????

We came to Shingle Springs vet clinic for their after-hours service due to one of the dogs in our care getting very sick during the previous evening. They were able to see her the next day in a timely fashion, diagnose her issues quickly and get us some food and medication (slippery elm) which made a huge difference almost immediately. In follow-up visits they were very helpful getting us a prescription for the gastro-intestinal food the dog will need long term as well as the best place to order it online. Very appreciative of their service and extended hours.

So my pup was having an emergency issue. When we got there, they made us sit outside for almost 30 min, before we had to walk in and ask where the nearest emergency vet is at. They responded by saying “fine just bring him in”. So when we brought him in, the vet looks at the pup and says I’ve never seen this in this type of dog. He then tells his assistant to look up some YouTube videos. She questioned him by asking what he wanted to look up YouTube videos for. He says: to see if you can find this type of dog having these issues. We grabbed our dog and walked out. Do not ever go here!!!

The Doc is an excellent. In my perrsonel experience the admin staff is simply scary, admin mistakes wrong medications which could leave your pets at risk.

Took my dog here for a foxtail removal out of his ear. The old doctor with white hair gave our dog too much anesthesia because he told us the first dose didnt work fast enough. Then my dog laid there for about an hour not moving or really reacting at all so the doctor decided to kick my dog in the head and slap him around to try to wake him up. Ended up taking him to a different vet the next day because he was still acting so looping and just not himself. My vet said they have heard multiple stories like that about this older guy. I will never go back there again I would much rather pay double at marqueen animal hospital and have my dog treated with loving gentle hands

I discovered them when my dog was bit by a Rattlesnake. They took amazing care of her and she is back to healthy. After that I kept finding myself needing a doc after normal vet hours (I had 3 dogs). I switched to using them as my normal vet at all times. It’s a little drive since I’m in EDH but totally worth it. They have been there for all the scary pet owning moments and at the worst moment when one of my dogs passed away. They are significantly more affordable and really care about animals. I trust them and they are always available. I highly, highly recommend them and wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else.

**BEWARE** Bait and Switch We just moved to the area and based on location chose SS Vet Clinic. We scheduled an appt just to have to wait outside (in the smoke) for almost 30 minutes - in which time not only did they forget about us, they took walk-ins. At the time of scheduling appt for non-emergency exam we were quoted one price, and then after our 10-min exam w/no required prescriptions, the price was doubled! They claimed the exam conducted was a different exam than scheduled. Entire experience was extremely frustrating. (Vet did seem knowledgeable tho - thus the 2 stars vs 1 star review)
