My dear poor 19 year old cat wasn’t doing well. Her jaw was very swollen on one side and she couldn’t walk well. She even stopped her routine 5am meowing wake ups. My regular vet of 20 years didn’t have availability for 2 weeks. I called VCA Wiltshire and incredibly Kathy got me in next day for an 8am appointment with Dr Deborah Wallen. Dr Wallen is amazing! She is not only is very professional, efficient, a fast diagnostician, compassionate, but a great sense of humor! She had me cracking up! She understood my anxiety as she told me she is a crazy cat lady as well. A quick diagnosis of a mouth abscess, which she drained and I was given an Rx for antibiotics. A diagnosis of arthritis; which we discussed steroids wouldn’t be advisable because of Alleys age. Alley is now doing well thanks to Dr Wallen’s wonderful care and VCA’s squeezing me in ASAP. Many thanks!!

Very good vet, but they don't have an appointment available for minimum 4 weeks for and emergency situation. They make no exceptions.

We brought my son’s very ill 8-year old bearded dragon in. He was very close to dying. The exotic animal vet was not available but Jim, the technician supervisor provided us immediate support. He was incredibly compassionate with my son and spent a lot of time talking through the options. He even welled up himself when we decided it was most humane to let our dragon pass away. I myself am a physician - a cancer doctor- and felt the care Jim provided us was simply stellar.

Came here with a friend to help their puppy who was seriously ill with tremors and uncontrollable urination only to be made to wait without updates and the turned away after a long wait saying they were overbooked. Even worse was the level of rudeness we experienced. DO NOT EXPECT HELP FROM THIS PLACE IN AS EMERGENCY.

They are compassionate and still matter of fact about treatment options and costs. We also really appreciate the great communication. Our dog has had several tumors, one of which turned out to be malignant and needed surgery. VCA Wilshire vets were great throughout the whole process and took great care of our pet. ♥️

Been coming here for years. It's always been good, but after it became part of VCA it got pricier. However, you get good service and staff is friendly and the vets are very professional.

It has been very tough during Covid time, I work full-time and they have limited staff... my dog has to see a technician every month for her shots. Thank God for the very helpful Jose and Dr. Lavac.

Bad experience!! ! Gave them our puppy for check, and they gave extra vaccine , with not asking promotion . They said that usually you should give it in one year, but they gave to our 3 months old puppy with not asking. Off course we got charged for that. Also , The vet was terrible, didn’t like to explain anything, just wanted to finish fast. and posh for more thing to do.

You know a vet is great when your dog loves them. They consistently go above and beyond for my dog, follow up to make sure he is doing well, and treat him like a king. Even after neutering, he looks forward to going back and seeing his favorite vet tech Lulu and Dr Castro. I couldn't be happier for them to be our vet.

We have been going to this vet for a couple years since our old one closed. They are compassionate and still matter of fact about treatment options and costs. My beloved pigeon, Clover, died on Thanksgiving Day, 2017. I hoped a full lifespan of at least 20+ years, but I am thankful for the two, amazing, but short years that she shared with me. I loved that pigeon in the same way that Nikola Tesla described his love for his pigeon. I was speaking to my relief officer about Clover when my wife called me at 6:31 AM. "Clover died!" She wailed... I think the blood must have drained from my face because my coworker gave me an odd look. Death is always terrible for the living, but life goes on and we have to take care of business. I wanted to get a necropsy (an animal autopsy) for Clovey because there didn't seem to be any reason for her to die. I placed her body into a box in the fridge, and I began calling veterinary clinics and hospitals. It wasn't easy to find an aviary specialist on Thanksgiving Day, so I left messages everywhere. The first to return my call was VCA Wilshire Animal Hospital. They scheduled a necropsy with me on that day. I delivered Clovey's body right away. I received a call from the director, Frank Lavac, DVM - who is also an aviary specialist - to talk to me about the procedure, and to discuss the follow-up. . The doctor mentioned that the initial findings showed that she was very healthy and showed indication of trauma, and that from all initial findings there was no reason that she should have died. Too much to go into, but pet guardians often feel like no one takes them seriously when it comes to grieving. The doctor seemed very empathetic and concerned for my well being. The staff also seemed kind and understanding when I came to pick up her remains. Pax tibi, pulcher columbae...

I took my dog GG 1year 8 month pup to vet to get X-ray. She is frisky pup and had to be put under anesthesia. Dr Chae phoned 2hrs later to tell me results would be ready in 24 hrs and to pick up GG, I asked her if I should drive to pick her up and Dr Chae assured me GG could walk home. Bad advise. We walked a block before she stumbled and collapsed I had to carry 45 lb dog 10 blks, not good for me or the dog. I was not impressed by Dr Chae who tried to upsell all of her services. The girls at the front desk are nice and professional but Dr Chae wants to make it all in a day. Sad really.

We were evacuated from our home relatively suddenly due to a fire, so I packed up the animals and kids and headed to meet my husband at his office. We had no idea where to take our animals because 2/3 were not up to date on their vaccines. I called around and VCA Wilshire told us to go ahead and bring them in and they could house them. Every single person we spoke to was exceptionally helpful and kind and very obviously caring. They took wonderful care of the animals, gave them exams and made sure the vaccines were updated. They called every day to update us, and ask any questions they needed answered and made sure to ask how we were doing during this time as well, which was so thoughtful. I would absolutely bring my pets here again in the future.
