This place sucks so bad. First every time i try to get through I can’t. Second i called them multiple times over my concerns for my dog. They never have any available appointments until its to late. I ended up having to bring her to the emergency room where she now has been for over 24 hours due to kidney issues. They are not even sure she will make it. I only came here for one vet who no longer even works here and that means i am done. They also lost all the paperwork to my new puppy that i had to give them on his fist visit. Who looses paperwork?!?! This place is awful do not waste your time!

We have two bichons that we treat like children, one is very old, and this was our first visit to Dr. Lee. He was very good with our dogs and he knew which one of our dogs was the 'smart' one. Lol. He was very professional, kind, and quick with our dogs. We would highly recommend this vet!!

While the appointment wait time is long, as are ALL vets right now, the doctor we saw (on a Saturday nonetheless) was kind, patient and compassionate. My 80lb dog is a bit anxious and skittish around new people and Dr Lee immediately recognized this, sat on the floor with him, gave him treats and was extra patient with him while he warmed up. He was great in answering all my questions and walking me through the options he suggested for treatment. The vet tech was also so great with our dog and explaining the medications/treatments that Manny had that day. Thank you VCA!

This Vet has to be the most Unprofessional Vet in LA. Anyone who has given this place a good rating has to be an employee or family member. Trust me, if u like your pet u will AVOID this place

This animal hospital and doctors and staff have been wonderful! I have seen them for many years and trust them dearly with my furry babies! They have helped me with an older family dog, one poodle mix rescue, and one very rambunctious golden doodle pup! I recommend them highly.. I am calling today to schedule an appointment for my rescue who had allergies snd has been stressed since the July 4 fireworks ! Please trust them with your furry babies !

I usually don't write negative reviews, but we have had a few issues in the last week in particular. We have a cat who has pretty severe IBD, and she can't really function to her fullest without her two meds. We travelled to upstate NY for two months for the summer, and I forgot one of her meds like a dunce. We have our prescriptions set up with Mixlab which is super convenient, and they said they could ship us the med no problem once our vet got back to them to refill her prescription. This turned into FOUR DAYS of waiting for the vet to sign off on a med that is necessary for the well being of our pet. When I called VCA the second time, they told me the vet that prescribed it was on vacation and that they were very busy, and they would try to get the other vet to approve our med ASAP. Four days of myself and Mixlab repeatedly pestering them for an answer finally got the med approved that should never have been a limited refill med in the first place, as she needs it daily to function. I'm understanding of every person needing time off as it's an extremely important part of your quality of life, but I also think that when there are people that are depending on you to help keep their pet healthy (especially in a pinch) you need to have someone that can help your patients whenever they need it. I wasn't calling at 4am asking for help, I was calling within normal business hours asking for a perfectly routine thing (a prescription refill). That same week right before this, we had issues with them getting our prescription approval over to Chewy for a prescription FOOD of all things. It took 2.5 days and Chewy reaching out to them 3 times to approve that although the prescription was already standing. We genuinely just needed them on sign off on a piece of paper. I feel bad complaining because I'm not that kind of person, but my cat had to deal with pain and discomfort because the office couldn't act in a timely manner for things that THEY PRESCRIBED for her to live a normal life.

What's the point of having a Vet for two years at your location if no one can't see my dog when he really needs it ? Don't you have special time slots for emergencies like a normal Vet or Doctor or I'm being too demanding? When it comes to getting blood tests, vaccines and routine checkups, no problem, but when we really need you, no one is there.

I recently moved to Santa Monica and needed a new vet for my Sphynx cat. Took him for a visit to VCA Broadway today, and even though I wasn’t allowed to accompany him inside due to Covid restrictions, we received great care. The tech was careful with carrying him inside, and Dr. F took time to go over his health concerns on the phone. Most importantly, she didn’t try to sell me into any unnecessary treatments or medications. I look forward to taking him back for any future needs!

This is our third appointment with VCA Santa Monica, and we can only assign the highest praise. Our family’s first dog experience would have been considerably more anxiety ridden without the guidance and services of VCA. Dr. Parks, in particular, has been exemplary in her knowledge, guidance, and overall encouragement. VCA’s fees seem fair as well. My wife and I could not imagine a better vet and hospital to kick off our first family dog experience.

Drs. Johnson, Lee and the whole staff at VCA Santa Monica are the best! They take great care of my cats, Penelope and Theo. I can always count on follow up calls to discuss how my cats are doing and how to best care for them.

Wow. The VCA team saw my pup in a pinch and I left so impressed by this group. Dr Parks was amazing; thorough, knowledgeable. She spent a lot of time with me and I know that’s despite having a lot on her plate. Allie was the vet tech/assist and spent a lot of time and was very caring and kind. I am so grateful for this team and impressed by their skill, knowledge and care. Highly recommended

We've been taking our rescue here since we adopted her a couple months ago and the care has been exceptional! Dr. Lee is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and responsive. Making appointments is also quick! I'm so glad we took our pup here and have these awesome vets & staff helping us to keep our girl in good health.

I asked 3 of my neighbors what Vet I can use for my new puppy and two of the doctors were at this particular VCA. I took my puppy there during the Coronavirus and even under those circumstances we had a great visit really glad we found this place. VCA doesn't always get a good rap I personally wouldn't have chosen that place had it not been for the recommendations of my neighbors.

I have two dogs and two cats and love bringing my pets here. I have a dog who is very skittish and dislikes vets due to a traumatic experience when he was a puppy. They did an amazing job with him and he doesn’t mind going. Still takes coaxing but they really go out of their way to make him feel comfortable. Highly recommend this vet (plus they are open on weekends, the only time I can go!).

Dr. Gina Johnson and her staff take such good care of my furry baby. He was in need of some pretty extensive dental work, and VCA Santa Monica provided me so much peace of mind during surgery and ensured I was prepared his recovery. He is home healing with me now, and I am beside myself in gratitude for their care. Thank you.

Just adopted a kitten and chose this VCA as her vet. The staff are so kind and knowledgeable and were patient with all of my questions. It was easy to get an appointment too, which was great. So happy I decided to go with them for my new kitten's vet.

This practice is clean, well-organized, understanding, and most importantly caring. They care for your pet as if it was their pet, as if they’re family, because they are. If I had to leave this review as one sentence, I’d say that this veterinary office surpasses expectations consistently and if they cared for humans, I’d be their first patient. There are so many wonderful things I could say about every individual at VCA Santa Monica. As a whole, this is the most welcoming, kind, attentive, and caring veterinary practice I’ve ever visited, and as individuals each employee shares those same qualities and so, so much more. Dr. Johnson, Dr. Lee, Patti, and the rest of the staff at VCA Santa Monica cared for our cat Princess Cuddle Bear from the day my significant other and I adopted her until the day we said goodbye, and we could not have imagined spending our last moments with her surrounded by anyone else; surrounded by individuals who we felt truly loved her like family. The staff is professional, flexible with appointments, attentive, and they will NEVER rush you out the door, or rush through an explanation. Through our cat’s handful of medical issues, we never once felt as if our concern for our pet was less important than their time- which is something I could never say about other veterinary practices we visited. We brought our cat in for oral surgery, teeth cleanings, nail trimmings, regular checkups, and emergency appointments, leaving each time calmer, with a healthier kitty, and with such a sense of genuine care that we knew it'd be okay. Whatever you're bringing your pet in for, VCA Santa Monica will handle it aptly. VCA Santa Monica is just the best of the best. I don’t know how else to describe it. If you’re worried sick about something that’s probably harmless but you’re worried about your pet? VCA has you covered. Accidentally double-dose medication and you’re trying to explain this over the phone between sobs? VCA understands, translates through tears, calms your fears and tells you what to do. It’s difficult to explain how much each employee at VCA Santa Monica genuinely cares for your pet, so I hope this review is convincing enough for you to find out for yourself.

Making an appointment online is easy and convenient, the staff are friendly and helpful, and Dr. Lee is great with our maltipoo puppy! There’s also a private parking lot, which is rare in Santa Monica. We’ve been to a few other vets and this office is our favorite!
