DID NOT CREMATE MY DOG. DOG'S CORPSE SITTING FOR OVER 2 WEEKS DESPITE PAYMENT HAVING BEEN MADE. My beloved animal who I cared for over 12 years died on the road as I was visiting Santa Cruz. I dropped her off and paid for their more expensive than average services for a private cremation. I was told to come back today (over 14 days later) to pick up the remains only to just be told that SHE HASN'T EVEN BEEN PICKED UP. This place is callous and uncaring. EDIT: they have now responded in such a way that should be clear to all who they are. They have also opened themselves up to a civil suit as a result of their comments. AVOID

They're incredibly caring, gentle, and thorough in their checkups and procedures. Very friendly staff that is compassionate especially when tough decisions need to be made.

The staff was helpful, professional, and kind the whole time. Their COVID precautions are very careful, which I appreciate. I brought in a very skittish cat and he was calmer after the visit than he was going in. I got an email a couple days ago about a new policy that anybody who yells at the staff gets banned. Can't imagine why someone would want to be so mean to these folks, and I'm glad the management is standing behind their employees.

Dr. Logathetti is awesome with my dog. She is conservative with tests & treatments - while making sure that my dog will get the best care & an accurate diagnosis. She's incredibly down to earth.

I have been bringing my cat and dog here for around 5 months now, and the service from Dr. Shuman and staff has been nothing short of amazing. Their COVID protocol is clear, smooth, and easy to follow. Dr. Shuman is patient and empathetic and will guide you to make the best decision for your pets health, but will also go over multiple different treatment options to cater to your financial situation. I am so so thankful for the quality of care both of my pets have received here and would recommend them to anyone in the Santa Cruz area.

Staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. Dr. Martinelli is our preferred vet because of her close care and communication.

Dr. Sheila Locathetti is awesome! She's a top-notch professional with a big gentle heart. She really does care about the animals and the owners. It's evident in her work. I don't go anywhere else!

I'm new to this area. My cats were hit with an emergency and I dreaded finding a vet because it is so hard for me to trust anyone. I feel God delivered this vet practice to me. They are all kind and the Drs are amazing and gentle and kind. They didn't talk down to me. I 100% recommend this place. They even dealt with my difficulties in the beginning with grace because I was so upset. Also, please get insurance for your pet. You never know when tragedy will strike.

Dr. David Schuman and Dr. Martinelli are phenomenal. I've never had anybody take such good care of my pets. They completely understand how there are children and members of the family. They explain everything that we need to know and I trust them 100%. they always have time to talk and make sure you are well informed on your decisions. II couldn' find anyone better to take care of my lovely pets. We have been going to them for over 10 years and never had a bad experience. If you want somebody to take care of your pets that you can trust this is the place to go.

Great veterinarians at affordable prices

Westside Animal Hospital is the best and we won't take our fur kid anywhere else. We drive pretty far to get here and it's always worth the trip. Our large dog had knee surgery and the staff was nothing short of exceptional. Our dog is our baby so we appreciate everything they do. They are extremely compassionate and patient. Thanks guys!

They have no idea how to treat cats! Incompetent and money oriented.

Our dog Aki has been a patient at Westside Animal Hospital several times for different problems and every time the problems were solved, even when a diagnosis was difficult. Dr. Shuman saved Aki’s life when he ate a sock that Dr. Shuman retrieved through endoscopy in his stomach. All staff members have been always nice and supportive, and have always taken care of our needs. My husband and I have just left California for Italy, and we have brought Aki with us. We had to go through a lot of bureaucracy in order to comply with the US and EU rules about international transport. We received invaluable help from the manager at the clinic, who prepared all the documents that Aki needed. We have been very impressed with the professional and human skills of Dr Shuman and all staff, we are very grateful, and we will never forget them. Thank you! Mariachiara & Hal

I've been going to Westside Animal Hospital for just short of 6 years now. My pooch had double knee surgery there, after my getting a second opinion, as I wanted to avoid the cost and pain for my dog. Well, after double TPLO/knee surgery, my dog's knees have been miraculously good considering what he went through. My experience of Westside Animal Hospital has been nothing but one of great and caring service. Everybody there cares about what they do and the owner, Dr. Shuman, is a very warm, caring and competent veterinarian who I would recommend to any pet owner who wants the best for his/her pet. I trust the work and opinions of Dr. Shuman 100%.

I was recommended to this animal hospital from a friend who is also a cat owner. Even after my first visit, I can tell that this place is absolutely incredible. The staff and doctors are highly knowledgeable, kind, patient, and welcoming. All my questions as a new cat owner were answered. I was provided with great recommendations for flea issues, behavioral training, and the nurses even showed me how to clip my kittens nails! I'm thrilled that my fur babies will continue to be under such great care. Highly recommend this place to anyone.
