Banfield Pet Hospital Santa Clarita, California

I got nickel and dime for tests and medications to figure out what was wrong with my dog. Thousands of dollars and they still tried to prescribe more antibiotics, which didn't work the first time, tried to get me to buy countless shampoos. They stopped working with chewy.com, where I was getting my dog's prescription from. Would not recommend because it's all about getting as money as possible. They noticed some people would pay whatever to get their pets better and they're using that information to their advantage.

Where do I begin? First they are always booked. Booked like 3-4 weeks in advance too. Plus when you wait that time period, they have very very slow turnaround times. Expect your pet to be there for a minimum of 2 hours. Then I scheduled an appointment for vaccinations 4 weeks in advance. On the day of, i got an email saying the appointment had been cancelled and I needed to call to reschedule. Just for me to reschedule and see the next available appointment for a check up or vaccinations, was not until Another 3-4 weeks out. I’m glad my pet wasn’t in need of any urgent type of care for this place is the last place to call.

Great vets and caring staff.

I showed up for a 3:30 appointment to be turned away at 3:30 for being 15 min late. I even had the email to show them my appointment time and they didn’t care and told me I needed to reschedule. The receptionist had a poor attitude and was completely unhelpful she didn’t even take my phone number down for the manager to call me back

I highly recommend Banfield, as a company they're incredibly compassionate. Dr. Sara Faraci is the best veterinarian I've ever been to. We drove all the way from ventura to be seen for a serious ear infection. While we were there, Dr. Sara Faraci found an aggressive cancerous tumor. She immediately removed it. Had we waited any longer, the prognosis could have been much worse. I'm very grateful for Banfield, specifically santa clarita for their wonderful staff and brilliant doctor, Sara Faraci.

I love this place for my dog. They are very nice and attentive. They take great care of my dog Cinnamon everytime. It's an hour drive for me but is well worth it.

Lack of communication between staff. Different estimates from multiple staff within the same facility. Told different things by different staff. Wasted money on unnecessary medication

My dog are well cared here, but I pay a plan, and almost everything I have to pay extra.

Called and was placed on hold without a word. Then the line was picked up on speakerphone with the staff apparently not knowing it and I listened to their conversation (between the vet and an employee) nothing professional was being said almost as if the animal they were discussing was a nuisance. They must have figured out the line was open and just put me on hold again without a word. This is 11 minutes into my call and no one has acknowledged the call. When the gal finally answered the phone, she was less than professional, couldn’t be bothered and hung up after I asked one question. I then read reviews and apparently this is a common occurrence. Good luck with this establishment.

Just moved around this area, so happy to have found a better vet for my baby. My cat is always so calm and treated so well here. The treatment I recieved work immediately, I'm eternally grateful.

They aren't on time in their appointments!

Always great service. All the ladies here are very nice n sweet and eager to help. I definitely trust my dogs are in good hands here. Very grateful to all staff.

I am so sorry I moved to a city where there is only 1 (one) Banfield hospital in the area and because of this, the service is bad, the front office staff is not friendly, and whenever I go I never I feel welcome and I feel I cannot trust leaving my dog there. When I arrive I cannot speak directly to the veterinarian regarding my dog’s issue, the front office staff take my questions to vet, then they return with an answer, which could be inaccurate because you cannot repeat word for word. The next Banfield is nearly 30 miles, unbelievable!! I have been an Active Wellness member for over 5 (five) years and I don’t get the same treatment as I did when I lived in Orange County, CA - the Brea Banfield Hospital located in the Petsmart Store, which is an hour and 30 minutes drive for me now, I sure hate I don’t have the luxury of them anymore. I also want to mention Brea has a 4.4* rating. Santa Clarita has a 3.8* rating. I do not understand why they don’t have more Banfield hospitals in the Santa Clarita area, they are building and have built many new homes in the SCV and the population has expanded to nearly 200,000 people with only 1 (one) banfield hospital, doesn’t make sense. There are only 3 veterinarians in this Banfield and I’m sure they are overworked. I am really upset with Banfield as it seems they should have more Hospitals in this area. There are 2 Petsmart stores in the Santa Clarita Valley Area and it would make sense to utilize one to open a Banfield Hospital. One more thing! My dog is on daily medication and receives a monthly injection for her condition, I picked up her prescription they gave me the incorrect one which is for cats. I immediately returned the medication and got the one that she’s been on for 5 years. THIS IS WHAT I MEAN THIS STAFF IS OVERWHELMED, OVERWORKED. Making mistakes like this could cause deadly consequences for my pet, I do not trust them at all.

Fantastic facility with a very kind and patient staff! They did a lovely job of making my dog as comfortable as possible while dropping her off (due to COVID, appointments are done this way). They have a wide range of very affordable wellness plans, and I am confident in putting my trust in the care of my princess pup in their loving hands. I will recommend them to anyone and everyone who wants efficient, quality care that won't break the bank.

Worst service I have ever got in an Vet. Appointment times means Nothing to them. You just get an appointment to wait behind 10 more customers for 2 hours. Constantly push you for UNneccessary preventative medications. You go there for one $30 vaccine and come back with $200 bill for things they are not even sure if the dog is sick or not but push you and scare you to take it because they think she Might be sick!!!! Can not even do a clear diagnosis. Expensive for No special service. Go anywhere but not here!!!

We came in to lay our lovely girl to rest.. The staff was very kind and sympathetic to us. They were very thorough in explaining what to expect and gave us the time we needed without feeling rushed. They made a heartbreaking time a little easier.

Definitely shouldn't have switched from my previous Vet.

As friendly as the staff is I really will be looking into going to a different vet I made an Apt to get my pups vaccines at 8:30 3 hours later she’s still not ready for me to ask how much longer and then tell me 1-2 hours more then what was the point of the Apt. I really do love the staff they are amazing with my pup I’m just not from Santa Clarita so staying in the area for almost 5 hours is a waste of time
