Started volunteering here recently. The people really care for the animals here and also gave me great advice as to my future. Will be coming back a lot

The only reason Jellys no kill gets one star is because they hired my daughter (an animal lover)fresh out of high school.Only 4 days into the job the staff blamed my daughter for a puppy getting sick.REALLY?! The staff then told my kid she had to hold the puppy down while they euthanized him!!!! It appears as though Dad needs to make a visit to these kind hard working folks!

Not much to look at, but the people that work there, including all the volunteers, make it one of the nicest rescues I know. They care for the rescues like they are part of their family.

Not very excited to show us any pups, and seemed a bit pricey for adoption.

Jelly's Place is a no kill shelter that saves dogs and cats from around the world. It's an awesome place.

In April 2021, I had to surrender my 8 week old kitten because my daughter was allergic. I called jellys place to see if they would take him and they did. Although it was very sad for my son and I. I am very glad that jellys place was there for me. I hope she gets over her allergy because I would love to adopt a kitten in the future. I do wish I can get an update about him. Thank you Jellys Place.

We had a great experience with the folks at Jelly's Place. They are largely (if not all?) volunteers, and, having been in touch with other rescue groups who also run on volunteers, we knew it might take some time. Our experience was consistent, helpful communication back and forth over a few weeks. That was good because it gave us time to really think about our decision. Once you meet the people of Jelly's Place, you'll feel how much they are giving of their heart and soul to help all the animal companions in their care - you can tell they love what they do, and they love the animals they are helping to transition into forever homes. In the end. we decided it wasn't the right time for us to adopt, but we ended up donating anyway based on our positive experience with them, in hopes that what we were able to give would help the animals in their care. Thank you Jelly's Place!

The volunteers here are trying hard to take good care of the animals that are there.

INSTEAD OF ADMITTING THEY MADE A MISTAKE, OR INTENTIONALLY MISLEAD ME , LIED TO ME, TRICKED ME OR WHATEVER THEY WANT TO CALL IT THEY ARE GIVING ME THE RUN HOPING I WILL GO AWAY. AFTER HAVING OUR HOME STOLEN AND SOLD WE FOUND OURSELVES LIVING IN A HOTEL LOOKING FOR HELP FOSTERING OUR PETS I TURNED TO JELLY'S PLACE WHO SOLD ME A LIE MADE ME BELIEVE I WAS GOING TO GET MY BABIES BACK BUT THEY ADOPTED THEM OUT BEFORE THE DUST FROM MY CAR LEAVING SETTLED. NOW THEY ARE NOT GIVING ME ANY ANSWERS LETTING MORE TIME GO BY THAT I HAVE NO WORD ON MY ANIMALS!! SHAME ON THEM!!! #JUSTICE FOR US, SWEETIE, ONIX, KIMBA, CARAMEL & SIMBA #WHEREDIDOURKOBYREALLYGO NOW I DOUBT THEY WERE HONEST WITH ME ABOUT OUR DOG KOBY EITHER! THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF MY DISADVANTAGE TO MAKE A BUCK!! THOSE DOGS WEREN'T NEGLECTED OR ABUSED THEY ARE LOVED AND MISSED BEYOND MEASURE

IMO Worst rescue in the Bay Area. I've communicated with many of the rescues in the Bay Area and this one did by far the worst job of communicating. Numerous times I'd inquire about dog only to be ignored on multiple emails, only to see the poor dog still on their website months later. POORLY RUN! Grew tired of having my inquiries ignored! Don't donate to this rescue, lots of far more deserving rescues in the Bay Area that can use your support. Reply to Organizations Reply: I find the reply, funny at best and incompetent at worst. 1) You have time to reply to a poor rating, but not time to reply when people email you multiple times, simply asking if a dog you have listed is available, and if they can schedule an appointment (after they have already taken the time to complete the application). 2) Perhaps your contact us form should be more specific on process and communication, say something like... "we may or may not get back to you regardless of what you ask us because that's how we operate (at least then I'd know not to waste my time trying to email to ask if a dog you have listed is still available, and if I can schedule a meet) 3) So let me get this straight, you say I should setup an appointment, even if I don't know if a dog you have listed is still available, and no one will responds to tell me if the dog is available, and how I can schedule an appointment to meet???? LOL This happened to me numerous times and finally i gave up with your rescue and felt so frustrated I ended up here wanting to post my experience... IMO lamest rescue in Bay Area!! I really do hope you change your processes, and how you treat peoples communications in the future!

Did you hear the one about the woman who went to the pet store for dog food and came home with a dog? That was me! It’s been almost 4 years with our sweet pup and we couldn’t love him more, the sweetest little guy! After reading other reviews, I should add that I didn’t actually walk away with my guy at that moment. Jelly’s was super professional and scheduled a home visit. I was totally ok with that. They take pet placement seriously. They wanted to see the fencing in my yard and probably other things. I had (still have) another dog so we coordinated a play date at our house for a day to make sure the two pups got along. I think I made a $400 donation and I was totally ok with that too. This isn’t a well-funded place like ARF. Jelly’s is a total labor of love. I continue to happily make donations to Jelly’s. Dogs are not an inexpensive endeavor. My other pup is 12-1/2 years old. Has been on medication for epilepsy since he was 4. Recently had a back issue that totaled upwards of $2k in exams, tests, X-rays, medication. He’s recently developed a skin issue, again ongoing and expensive. So if $400 or so is a hit to your budget, really give getting a dog some thought since you will become their lifeline... time, energy and money. But the payback is 100%.

Super friendly and dedicated staff at this organization. There pet adoption listing were shared by The Patch and we were interested in a kitten but they told me that he had some behavioral issues (super appreciated) but that we were welcome to see the cats and kittens they had available. If you’re serious about adoption review their website and complete an application and call or email to schedule an appointment. Julie and Fiona as well as all the staffers were very friendly! And the adoption process was all electronic and contactless.

I was a visitor/volunteer/donated here and I will definitely be back during my available time in the future. These are lovely people who work here, they really do value and strive for repairing humanity and the innocent souls of Animals in it. Their hearts are in it, God bless them. They never give up hope on those babies. (NO KILL SHELTER) They really need volunteers different times, necessity donations like blankets or food. Give them a call and try to help out as much as possible if you can. They have a lot of furry friends , cats, dogs, pups, kittens, ready/getting ready to meet their ~FOREVER LOVING~ Families and Homes. This a non-profit. You may also donate funds so they can continue saving lives of the animals. ???????????? ☀️????????

Jelly's Place is a good place trying to adopt out dogs. But adoption costs $100-300, roughly. And there are mutts here. I saw the cutest mutt and fell in love, then asked how much she was. They told me she was $450. That is seriously unreasonable for a rescue dog, that you don't know about. You don't know its age, medical conditions, or breed. And that's $450 out of pocket. I walked away and found plenty of other great shelters.
