The staff at Scout's House is incredibly professional and very nice. Our foster dog is so happy with his sessions that he can't wait to get out of the car, and he sits by their door waiting to be allowed in!. The initial evaluation was very detailed with a great explanation of current issues and possibilities for improvement. They also gave us a home exercise program with clear instructions, and they have been great in answering questions as we go along with their program. After 5 sessions, our foster dog that has mobility issues is already getting stronger, has less pain, and we are very happy with the results!.

My dog who usually resides in Puerto Vallarta had TPLO surgery in Mexico City on 12/3/19 by reportedly the best Veterinary Orthopedic Surgeon in Mexico. The surgery was a complete botch job causing irrevocable internal joint damage. Her Revision TPLO surgery was performed 2/13/20 in Ventura by top U.S. Veterinary Orthopedic surgeon who specializes in TPLO, double Board Certified in Rehabilitation/Sports Medicine. He recommended post surgery rehabilitation. We initially went elsewhere for Rehab but after several sessions found her program did not align with Revision Surgeon. I then booked at Sam's Clinic but before our first appointment, they cancelled due to COVID-19. I (my dog) was SO fortunate circumstances brought us to Scout's House. Coffee's Rehabilitation Therapist, Krista, has been phenonemal. Her program and medical philosophy completely aligns with Coffee's revision surgeon. I am results oriented, Coffee after all she has been through is walking normally. She is next to never limping on her operated limb as she was previously and now bearing weight on operated limb. Her 8 week post-surgery follow up appointment by Board Certified Veterinary Orthopedic Surgeon in Lafayette who researched CCCL, raved about her recovery, giving high credence to her Rehabilitation. When I first entered Scout's House admittedly was not impressed, it looked like a clinic office not rehab gymnasium facility as I expected. The rehab facility is in the back room, it is full scale equipped with professional level equipment including water treadmill. Coffee LOVES going to Scout's House. Their team is cohesive. They are committed to safe, positive, effective Rehab. I recall first Rehab clinic informed me Krista teaches Veterinarians in the Bay Area rehab techniques so by coming here going straight to the source. I am so grateful they are open during COVID-19 SIP but even more so the expertise received here. Rehabilitation

Scout's House treated my 14 year old beagle for symptoms of arthritis. They worked wonders with her during the sessions to build up her agility and muscle mass, and recommended homework for us to try at home. After weekly visits for 5 weeks, she had gained a considerable amount of muscle mass back on her leg and after a total of 10 visits, she was pretty much cured. Thank you Scout's House for providing a healthy alternative to surgery and allowing Cinnamon to live a happy normal life well into her old age!

Wanting all the best for my dog after TPLO surgery I was referred to Scouts House and if hindsight were 20/20 I would have fought harder to get in at Sage or even driven further to Oakland and Holistic Veterinary Care where I had a great consult before having surgery. I think that with the uptick in economy that businesses like this are thriving more than they have in 10 years and sadly we lost several in the late 2000's. I have been to other rehab for my other dog so I felt I knew what to expect. Sadly my expectations were far too high for what Scouts could deliver. So coming to Scout's is a 3 hour ordeal for us with the drive. Never did anyone at Scout's take that into account nor work with us to try to schedule a routine for us. More frequently than not we had to work around Scout's and miss work or other activities to do so. But we did commit to the dog so we were really trying... By visit 9 after some setbacks we finally were from 3 minutes in the treadmill to 7 and by visit 10 we were to 11 minutes - I digress - this was a truly minimal improvement overall. Let's just say that at no time did the schedule of the visits and the type of advancement we needed get put into the picture holistically. More of a wham-bam sort of approach, I felt lost in the commotion of just trying to get an appointment let alone to stop and question their approach. I always hated that I was not allowed into the treatment area and instead watched her from an outdoor aquarium view (when that wasnt too distracting). I have always had the opportunity in the past to learn and watch and participate as well as collaborate rather than drop off/pick up and go. There was no real desire to get us into a plan, to work as a team. What we needed was to take some time off. Let the setback heal. Seek out healing sources locally and then return for more therapy. I did finally figure that out only to be told by Scouts that to finish her uptick they could get us in in 3 months for an appointment. Seriously? This dog is an established patient and your inability to communicate effectively caused us to be where we are now! So I tried one more time to give them another chance saying if you can get me in for 5 weeks in a row I will make the time and financial commitment and we can all see her through to the finish line...yea uhhh no - so much for "Team Fxxxx" Overall: we were lost in the commotion and while they said they were on our team - at the end of the day they aren't because they cannot get her into a schedule to finish out her therapy which was completely mismanaged and underdeveloped. I did speak to the practice manager at great length and she seemed engaged and that is where the term "Team Fxxxx" came from but they are not on her team because they can't be bothered to take care of the existing client. They need to turn and burn on the new ones too. If you do go please be prepared to push them for what they do and how long they do it. It seems that people with means and location are just happy with what they get there but in the grand scheme it is not a well run business for the patient.
