I brought my dog Zeus in for a routine check-up and the technician was completely rude to me when I asked for someone else to help me, she left the room without a word. The doctor came in, and barely listened to my explanation, then snickered at me when I suggested the technician should be coached on dealing with customers. I was extremely offended and left. I've been bringing my dogs here for years but since they reopened it seems they've forgotten how to treat customers. The doctor didn't even apologize for the bad experience. I'm extremely disappointed and taking by business elsewhere.

We've been going to VCA Blossom Hill for over a decade even after moving out of the area Dr. Hare has been taking good care of our dogs (4 in total). However, during and after the pandemic, there are a lot of staff changing or other factors may caused by the pandemic. The communication with the staff has been a struggle. The girls who answer the phone can't understand the situation and constantly put me on hold. For example, I just called to ask for one dose of Nexguard for one of my dogs and will pick it up this Friday when I take the other dog in for a technician appointment. She was asking me what the pet's weight. When I told her you should have it in your system, she said "oh, yeah!". Then she asked if she is still the same weight. I took my dogs in specifically weighed in Apr. or May., the weight normally will be used for the next year? I won't risk to get them the meds that's not for the weight range. I had to repeat about 5 times to make sure she is getting the right pill and for the right pet. With all the clarification, she still said she was confused. It took me a good 10min. to ask for one pill. I brought this up with Wendy last time when we had the communication issue. I'm hoping some more training can be done and improve the overall experience for the clients. The clinic was so good before with McKayla, Dustin, Jennifer... back in the day. You barely needed to explain any more details, they knew what you needed. It's sad to see the service level going downhill. Please do something Wendy. Thank you!

The staff here at VCA are such kind & knowledgeable people. I adopted my kitten Sweetie in August of last year; my family has had pets all my life but Sweetie was my first time raising a pet completely on my own. I've been taking her to VCA since I first got her, & I would 100% recommend their kitten Care Club package if you can afford it. Being able to message a vet anytime & to also know that her spay and other important first year milestones would be covered under the plan has been such a lifesaver. Recently, Sweetie went in for her spay & managed to wiggle out of not just a cone but also the surgical recovery suit I got her, and chewed through her stitches the very first night. Bringing her back in the next morning was nerve-racking, but Dr. Eva, her vet, was completely understanding and was more than happy to go over our options for making sure she wouldn't reopen them a second time. I was worried about the cost of her second visit since she had to stay most of the day and this was definitely outside of her care plan, but the clinic was kind enough to discount her stay and as of today she's been resting and recovering wonderfully! My only complaint would be that, especially right now due to COVID, the staff can be a bit overworked and the location is very busy; but even then, they're always very apologetic for the wait and I've never felt unwelcome. Aside from her in person visits, the 24/7 messaging service offered by the Care Club plan has also been quick, professional, and so helpful for any questions I had about how much to feed her, what product to best use to keep her from eating our plants, and anything else that I was fretting about and sought advice on. Thank you again to Dr. Eva & everyone else at the Blossom Hill clinic for being rad. ????

I've been taking my pets to this location most of my life, and they've always been great! Dr. Hare is super patient and kind to both the animals and their human companions. This particular visit I was getting my 5 years old chihuahua mix Sirius caught up on his vaccinations. To say he was anxious is the understatement of the year! When Dr. Hare was listening to his lungs and heart he freaked out and started barking at the stethoscope. Really he hadn't stopped barking since we walked into the clinic save for a few moments he stopped to catch his breath so he could start barking again with renewed vigor. I kept apologizing to her for him barking like that, but she said it wasn't a problem. He barked thru the 3 shots they had to give him. When the vet tech brought him up to the front where I was waiting said the vet wondered if we'd be interested in something to calm him down since we have to go back in 3 weeks got a booster shot. Oh my goodness I was so grateful that she asked, because I was dreading having both my pooch and I having to deal with all the stress and anxiety again in 3 weeks.

The website is fantastic but when I called to try and get my dog an appointment for a check up and allergy test the woman on the phone had the worst attitude. We had to take our business elsewhere.

Going to a new vet , is usually pretty stressful! I had NEVER gone to this vet before. But once I met the staff & the vet, I started to feel very confident! The vet started to explain Tiny's situation , in away I could understand! Once. the conversation was over , I felt much more relieved, & I felt confident that Tiny's recovery would be better then I had anticipated! This staff was so great with Tiny's SURGERY & AFTER CARE. I would most Definantly recommend this VET to my closest friends, other INDEPENDANT RESCUERS & ANYONE who needs help with their pet!

I have a great experience! I called at 9:30 in the morning because my dog had been vomiting blood. At first they said they had no appointments till the next day. I asked them what I should do and if I need to see the emergency vet. They put me on a brief hold then came back and said I can bring in my dog now. It was a short wait (less then 20 minutes). My dog saw Dr. Hare who was kind, understanding and answered all my questions. I was offered different options on what do do for my dog (xray, blood work, hospitalization with monitoring, IV fluids, antiemetic drugs IV and oral and antacids and dog food for $1,200) I first went with the xray and they found no obstructions (and the xray was seen by a radiologist) so they monitored him for the rest of the day and did subQ hydration and antiemetic another xray that showed improvement. All in all my dog got 2 xrays, radiologist interpretation, antiemetic medicine, exam fee and bland food for a total of $580. I think that was affordable, quality medical care. This place is good quality, no hidden fees and I had the impression that they cared for my dog and wanted to help him. Thank you so much! I will be back next time one of my pets needs help!

Their new location is nice! Sadly though they have no specialist for reptiles, but they are very lovely and attached to your animals. Covid-19 update: Our appointment for shots took ~2 hours from the appointment time. We had to sit in the car, also, we had to pay extra because our cats scratched each other while there and we were not allowed in there to ease their stress.

I have never left a review on an establishment before, but I feel I need to. I recently adopted cats through the silicon valley shelter and was instructed to take the trip out to this veterinary clinic for neutering. The neuters went smoothly, no problems there. But I had informed the vet about gingivitis in my kitten, and how uncomfortable he was looking. The shelter had told me to bring this up with the vet when I took him. They said they'd take a look at it. Upon return of this cat they told me, quote "sometimes kittens just have this, it'll probably go away, you just have to wait" with NO TREATMENT!!! NONE!!!! I had asked for treatment, I begged for antibiotics! Because I knew this would get worse, I've had cats in the past with this condition. And in response they told me "i've seen kittens with gingivitis just heal later on, keep an eye on it and bring him back if needed." Which I cannot because it's a three hour trip and they're booked and currently not accepting new clients in other locations, and the shelter was paying for this specific visit but would no longer afterwards. And so this all wasn't taking into account that kittens can also easily develop periodontitis? Like, what? Are preventative measures for animals in discomfort really that hard to prescribe? Despite my reservations, I tried to assure myself I was ignorant and take the vets words to heart. I spent a good sixty maybe seventy bucks on over the counter preventative dental treatments like water additives, food additives, and toothpaste which I can't even use because my early attempts at brushing have been so uncomfortable for him that he won't even stomach eating any toothpaste plain as a treat, the pain was so bad it traumatized him. And I was instructed to stop brushing. I hoped this serious dental infection would "just go away." Now? Now it's gotten SO BAD in barely a month. The entirety of his gums are bright red, with black streaks in his teeth. He hates being touched even when he's trying to cuddle. He's in so much discomfort he yowls while eating. The flesh in his mouth smells of rot and decay. And now I have to find a vet that will take him and personally pay for treatment for such a now very serious issue myself, which was the shelter's responsibility to begin with, all because this vet said NO to treating my kitten. I am infuriated. I'd even be fine purchasing the 80$ antibiotics myself at the time but now he likely needs dental surgery which no pet insurance covers and I'm out thousands I don't have, and worst of all my cat is suffering. I don't know the merits of the other vets at this hospital. But whoever refused to treat my kitten should be ashamed of themselves, whoever told me that a dental infection would "probably just go away" in a five month old cat should not be practicing animal care. I mean, christ? Now he probably needs near unaffordable surgery and is in crazy wicked pain that leaves him yowling for something that could've easily been prevented with antibiotics. That's medical neglect. Will never ever recommend this hospital to anyone.

Avoid this place, not all VCAs are the same. Take your pet to Almaden Expressway VCA. Horrible experience with this place, no follow up on my pet for her critical tests and charges you for services you dont need under their "wellness plans".

This hospital is amazing - I took my first and second cat here and my parents took their two pugs here for years and the only reason we stopped going is because we moved away. Every single person on the staff, including the vets are so warm and friendly. I have met most of the vets but Dr. Steele was my favorite. The technicians were genuinely fond of my parent's pugs and were always excited to see them and I cannot express enough the gratitude towards the entire team for when I had to put my beloved 18-year old cat to sleep - from the girl who sympathetically listened as I grieved over the phone in making that decision, to the techs who treated me with such sympathy and discretion when I arrived and to Dr. Steele who performed the process and cried with me as I said my goodbyes. I am getting teared up just writing this. Thank you to all of you at VCA Blossom Hill.
