Mike is by far the best cat sitter we have ever had. We have been working with Mike and Sparkle Cat Sitting since 2015. You can tell he is good by how well our cats respond to him. We always joke that the cats are going to be disappointed when it’s just us at the door and not Mike. He gives them special treats and individual playtime. We also like the fact that Mike is certified in pet CPR. He always sends daily updates with pictures or videos and you can tell how well he has bonded with our cats by how much they trust him. Pure & simple, Mike is a top-shelf cat sitter. He just got done caring for my formerly feral cat Dennis for 10 days, and even managed to get the guy to come out of the closet while he was here ... something I did NOT expect would happen. I received daily updates (with pictures) the entire time I was away and did not worry even once whether things were okay back home. Mike was our cat sitter for our old lady Kitty in the Inner Richmond. He is very reliable and I never needed to worry about Kitty while out of town, sometimes for up to two weeks. He'd send great reports after each visit, with photos and details on how Kitty was doing. I would absolutely recommend Mike for cat sitting!

Mike is a PRO. I feel incredibly lucky that we found him -- we live in Inner Sunset. I had adopted two senior cats and they were settling into our home. I had a weekend trip planned, and I didn't want to move them into a new place for the weekend. Mike came by -- fed them, played, and even alerted me to a medical issue that had popped up (ear infection) which helped me get my kitten into the hospital earlier and treated. He took photos, was on time and dependable. We are so lucky to have found Mike and it released a lot of stress and guilt for us to enjoy the trip. Thank you Mike!!

Mike has pet-sat for me many times, and I feel really lucky to have such a great professional looking after my cat. I have a very shy kitty. She has so much personality around my fiancé & I, but sadly shuts down & hides in front of strangers, particularly men. It's been tough finding people we can trust to care for her when we're out of town since she requires a lot of patience & understanding. It's also tough to trust friends to care for your pet since they mean well, but usually don't have the most experience caring for a shy cat or are preoccupied with their own busy lives. Mike has alleviated all our worries! Our cat Celia is still a work in progress, but she's starting to warm up to Mike! He has taken a lot of time to just sit quietly near her and create a safe space for her. He's also given us great advice to help create a calmer space for her. Finally on one of their last visits, she came out to greet Mike! I can't recommend him enough. He cleans the litter, even vaccuums, changes the water bowl, spends actual quality time getting to know your kitty instead of just feeding him or her & leaving, and sends pictures and daily reports of them so you don't feel too homesick for them or have to worry. He is such a professional & the best cat sitter we have ever had. You will definitely not regret using his services!

I used Mike as my cat sitter for about a year before I moved away from San Francisco. He is a unique blend of super professional and phenomenal with animals. Mike really is a cat person and you can tell right away. Not only will he take care of the necessities for your little kitties but he will bond with them and look out for their comfort while you're away. Highly recommended! We first reached out to Mike about a year ago to watch our new kitty who was only about 7 months old at the time. My boyfriend and I both had cats growing up but this was our first one on our own and we were definitely nervous to have someone new come in and look after him, but after meeting Mike the first time we could tell our little guy would be in good hands. Mike is one of the best cat sitters I have ever had! He is great with my cat, who usually dislikes strangers, but she somehow seems to like him. Mike is very accessible and easy to get in touch with, and he sends detailed email updates every day that you're gone. He's also really observant and knowledgeable about cats in particular and has a lot of great tips about which toys and play time activities my cat liked best while I was gone. I especially appreciate how thorough and professional Mike is. He thinks of and prepares for every possibility, making sure there are multiple key copies, an emergency contact, that you've made it home safely, etc. There's absolutely nothing left for me to worry about when I leave for my trip!

I feel extremely fortunate to have had Mike's services for the past 6 weeks while I was out of state. My husband was at home but he is disabled and needed help caring for our two cats. Mike was absolutely reliable and concerned about the cats and us humans. He kept the litter box and area clean, monitored the cats health, played with them, watered plants and took out trash on pick-up days. He spent time visiting with my husband and did errands for him. I cannot recommend Sparkle Cat Sitting enough! Mike is pleasant, professional, and quickly responsive. Even more importantly, our cats love him. We have one that runs from basically everybody (including us sometimes) but Mike quickly won her over and she now greets him when he comes to visit! His daily updates with pictures and tales of his visit are a welcome reassurance when we are travelling. On the one occasion that Mike was not available to cat sit for us he was very helpful in providing recommendations for another sitter, who also was a joy. Mike did an excellent job cat sitting for 11 days while my husband and I were out of town. Our cat Lucky warmed up to him right away during the orientation visit which put me at ease. Mike e-mails every day to report on the cat, and he always sends photos and sometimes videos. The photos and videos made me feel assured that Lucky was being taken care of. Not only did Mike take care of our Lucky's food, water, and litter situation, he also took out the trash and brought in Amazon packages for us. Prices are reasonable too.
