We just finished our Good Puppy Program with John and we couldn't be happier with the results. Due to Covid-19, our training sessions were done through Zoom, but we still had great success! John is patient, knowledgeable, very responsive and a nice guy. Our Lulu is a little over 4 months old and is doing really well on her commands and is potty trained. I highly recommend John!

John Knight is the consummate professional! Though my roommate did not follow up with him, (ego issues) the hours he spent with her dog, really imbedded a couple of commands she still follows!

John Knight helped me with my minpin yorkie mix. The results were quick and lasting. He is so knowledgeable of dogs and is very observant to you as an owner as well as environment. Hes honest and gentle in training techniques. This was a concern since my dog is only 8 lbs. He offers phone questions for post training help too.

We rescued a challenging corgi mix that has been bounced from home to home. It was apparent early on that we needed a professional to help us get Gus comfortable in his forever home. You really hire someone like John to train you, then the pup will respond in kind. The reason we contacted John was that we knew he was straight forward and only work with us if he could help Gus improve. He is a stubborn dog and we believe had some trauma as well as separation anxiety. His trust issues play a lot into why he is resistant to training. John is very patient and helped us to have a calmer home. I'm happy to say that we can start another set of sessions for the next steps in getting our little Gus to a happy place.

Jeff did an awesome job of training us how to interact with our two beagles. After following his advice, our relationship with our dogs has improved and is more fun!

We have a 5 year old standard Schnauzer named Prince. He's my first dog and I needed help guiding him in the right direction! I was apprehensive about getting a trainer, but know there's no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners, and I owed it Prince to the best for him! I spent several hours on-line searching for a suitable trainer, and eventually came across Sit Stay Come Dog Training. I read all about John Knight, his training methods and the great testimonials and knew my searching was over! I rang John and explained about Prince pulling on his leash, barking on the balcony and jumping on everyone he met! John immediately allayed all my fears and said all of these things were fixable! We arrange a first session and John finished the conversation by asking me to convey to Prince "there's a new sheriff in town" :) John duly arrived at the appointed time the next week, and on meeting Prince determined he's great dog with a lot of energy! The problem with Prince pulling on the leash, was immediately resolved by him not wearing a harness, but a prong collar instead! A verbal command "no" to stop Prince barking and jumping on people, reinforced if needed ,by a clap of the hands and failing that a squirt from a spray bottle! Simple but effective advise! My training continues in dealing with other aspects of Prince's behavior, but I've come along in leaps and bounds! Johns methods are clear, gentle, fair but firm and have given me the confidence, to ensure Prince gets the help he deserves for a happy life! A big thank you to John. I highly recommend him to everyone.

As a first time dog owner adopting a rescue dog, I didn't quite know what to expect. In the first day or two of taking our dog, Tucker, home, it was pretty clear he had never had any obedience training. Never having owned a dog before, I wasn't confident enough in myself to teach Tucker everything based on YouTube videos and online articles. Based on reviews, I decided to give John a call, something I will never regret. From the first visit (where John confirmed what we thought - Tucker never had any training prior), John was patient with me and Tucker as he explained the work it would take to get Tucker to a good level of obedience. He carefully showed my exercises to do with Tuck and gave me detailed instructions of what to do each night. 2 days after John's first visit, Tucker was sitting, staying and coming consistently. Further visits with John led to more and more obedience from Tucker, including sitting and staying outside, fetching, returning and dropping and learning to quell his barking. Anyone who visits our apartment is very quick to note how well behavior Tucker is compared this dog or that dog they've encountered. I can pretty confidently say that would not be the case if we hadn't met John.

My dog and I started working with John a little over three weeks ago. My dog has severe anxiety, which has limited many normal activities for us, such as going for walks. After our first training session with John, I was able to take my dog for a walk without her having a meltdown. Not only has John helped me to build my dog’s confidence, he’s built my confidence. We still have a lot of work to do, but in the past few weeks, I have noticed significant improvement. Even my vet said, “WOW, she’s a new dog!” John is straightforward, sets expectations, and has reasonable prices. But most importantly, John gave me hope that I could rehabilitate my dog. I appreciate his patience and kindness. He is amazing!

My family and I recently moved to the San Diego area where dogs are welcome almost everywhere. Our problem was our dog was loud and leash aggressive and most people were very uncomfortable with a lunging and barking German Shepherd! She …

John was a great trainer! We had recently adopted a puppy that had severe separation anxiety and called upon John for some help after our pup was tearing up carpet when we would leave and following us everywhere we went while we were home. …

I have a bulldog/lab (10 years) and a lab pit bull (4 years). After two days in a row being dragged through the street by cat-crazed dogs, and being horrified that they might finally catch a cat, I called my vet for a recommendation. I was feeling pretty dejected. Then there was John. He spent a lot of time with us, interviewing us, explaining his training methods, and teaching me, in particular, how to be the "alpha dog" and lead my pups. We went out the first day and practiced walking by cats, over and over. No shock collars, no choke chains, no overindulging in treats (important with lab mixes). By the time John left, both dogs were learning and I had the tools I needed for the next several weeks. Actually for a lifetime. Not a single cat incident since then, and the dogs are more relaxed in general. Today we worked on sitting, dropping, and heeling. It has been a great experience so far. It is amazing to go from hopeless to good behavior in the same day. I've been to other trainers, but John's training is finally working after years of trying other methods. I wish I could express just how fantastic John's methods work and how much better we all are now!
