Great place for grooming. I’ve been coming here for months and they’re definitely getting popular.. good sign.

Bad first impressions often make for the only impressions. Unfortunately, this place’s poor communication cost them my business. My dog currently goes to an excellent daycare elsewhere but I was looking for a backup daycare that was in or at least closer to downtown for those times when it would be a more convenient location. I found DoozyDog with strong reviews on Google/Yelp and tried calling before scheduling a meet and greet to get some questions answered, as they weren’t addressed online. I called multiple times during their business hours and got no answer, so I left a voicemail. Nobody ever returned my voicemail. Despite the unreturned voicemail, I set up a profile online and scheduled a meet and greet two days in advance. Out of several appointments that showed as available, I took the latest available spot to allow myself time to go from work to my dog’s current daycare (about 10 miles away), and then come back to downtown for the meet and greet. I expected some kind of confirmation email or text but heard nothing. On the day of the meet and greet, just a few hours before the appointment, I just happened to check the online portal to confirm the time, and it showed my appointment had been canceled. I received zero notice of this cancellation so had I not checked, I would’ve done all of that driving back and forth for nothing. Again, I called multiple times to find out what happened with no answer, but finally reached Kristen. She told me the meet and greet spots had filled up, and couldn’t give me a clear explanation how that was the case when several spots had been available when I made my appointment. While I appreciate that she offered to find me another appointment for the next day, she did not explain, or even apologize for, the fact that nobody notified me of the cancellation. I ultimately decided this was not a suitable place for me to take my dog or my business and decided to stick with our current daycare. I just can’t trust a business to care for my dog when they barely communicate with me.

Just had the worst experience picking up my dog. We came here recommended by my mother in law. Specifically, knowing that Emily regularly grooms her large doodle, who is known to be anxious and unruly during grooming visits. We wanted just a touch up around his beard and eyes, his paws and his private area (the face/feet/Fanny trim service that they offer). When he was ready for pickup, Emily came out and explained that Arlo didn’t behave well and that the cut wasn’t perfect, but she tried. Arlo was brought out and the cut was so very far from perfect. She shaved down the top of his head -which we never asked her to do. It looked like a cross between a bowl cut and a mullet and I couldn’t even recognize my dog. The absolute worst part of the experience was Emily’s reaction to my feedback. I calmly explained that I didn’t like the cut and commented on how strange he looked. She responded that if “we” had decided to cut his body, that it would look way better. Well, you started the cut knowing you weren’t going to cut his body and we also didn’t even ask you to cut his head at all. I would have rather her call me and tell me that Arlo was too difficult, and she didn’t cut his face. I explained it was our first time to the groomer and tried to ask her the terminology that we used that made her think this is what we wanted- because I never wanted this to happen again. She continued to be extremely defensive and said “well this is the doodle cut”. I couldn’t believe how unprofessional she was and that she continued to blame us, even though nobody was blaming her in the first place. The conversation was going in circles and at that point we would definitely not be returning customers, so I just said okay and walked out. It’s a bit of a ridiculous thing because he’s happy and healthy, but leaving the store I cried. Such a horrible experience. I wouldn’t be leaving this poor review if Emily had taken our concerns seriously, tried to figure out where the miscommunication happened and attempted to rectify the situation. Absolutely awful first time experience. The place was chaos and they canceled my appointment without telling me. Very poor communication and didn’t even get my dog groomed there. They made a mistake and did not try to fix it. I called them for 15 minutes and nobody answered. Thank goodness I found a new place to go in such short notice.

My Nini looked and smelled beautiful. They did a great job with her hair cut.

My experience just happened two ago my dog went to daycare and I could pick him up in time so I have to board him for the night and they were really gracious and helpful I get him a two thumbs up and five stars

I definitely like the hours at this location, especially because I usually work later and other daycares close before I could get to them. The style of daycare is just a bunch of playrooms that the dogs hang out in, so it's less structured than some other daycares I have used.

I found Doozydog! on Google after looking for a someplace near Little Italy where we could get our 120 lbs. fluffy Bubs cleaned without lies and excuses. No one wants to groom big dogs. I don't know why these other places are even in business. We actually had a place lie to us about their groomer quitting because they didn't want to groom her anymore. We were getting concerned that she was a problem. No the problem is these other terrible establishments! We walked into DDC and got the best welcome for us and for Zelda. When we handed her over we expected pulling and shaking as we've had in other places but there was none of that. She went straight in with the groomer and stepped right up when instructed to into the tub/sink. It was like watching our baby on her first day of school. She was nervous but she was still smiling and clearly not scared. DDC has the fantastic, helicopter-pet-parent thing: VIEWING WINDOWS so you can watch your babies get cleaned up. They are the best thing on the planet! When we arrived to pick her up the groomer and the receptionist were both full smiles and couldn't wait to tell us how well she did. My heart totally swelled in my chest. They brought her out all dolled up with little bows and she was happy, bouncy, and clean as a whistle. Both of the ladies couldn't stop telling us how great she was and how much they love her and Zelda who is extremely selective (she's a DIVA dog) loved them. I don't care where we move to in SD, this is the only place that we will be bringing Zelda to for all things. Thank you, DDC, for being the best groomer in all of San Diego and for truly loving, caring for, and caring about our furry, tail-waggin', poop & treat-lovin' babies!

I was hesitant to bring my sassy senior 14yr puggle to doggie day care she had always had in home pet sitting but it was the best decision I could have made for my puggle. I thought she would be sad in a corner it was the opposite she had so much fun. I truly feel I got more months with her from her having social interactions. She sadly has passed away but the card I received from the staff shows just how much they care for your fur baby like their own. I’m forever grateful to the staff at Doozy dog San Diego

Best doggie day care EVER!!!!!! My little dog Ozzie has been going here for about 2 years. He loves the staff and the other dogs. The staff always make them feel loved and treat them as though he is a little king. He is safe and the facility is clean. They are responsive and always look to keep his best interest in mind. I even have had them groom him and for 5 years Ive never let anyone else groom Ozzie they do a wonderful job. I love DOOZYDOGS!

Groomer Emily is the best!! She took her time as much as she could to detangle my dog’s hair and make her awesome! Thank you so much for your effort and kindness. ????

These guys are great for boarding and daycare, they are open between 7am-9pm daily and have multiple webcams. They also have a staff member overnight so no dog is left alone. Look into their packages and the rates become quite affordable.

I have been taking my dog, Sunny, to this location for the past 7 months since I moved to San Diego. He has regularly attended doggie daycare and done boarding as well. He loves it there and is a happier dog. On a day when he can't go, I can tell he misses it. They do an excellent job in matching dogs in the play areas and I love to pick him and hear about his day and what new friends he made. When I have been able to catch him on camera, I see that the areas are kept clean and monitored well. When he leaves, he has kisses for all the staff, especially for the manager, Kristan. :) I especially am grateful to her as he is mildly handicapped with weakness in his back left leg and she has led the staff in personalization of care. They keep an eye out and have been known to give him little breaks if it seems he is over-exerting himself. I have seen similar comments and notes for other dogs, too. Every pup feels like a true V-I-P. That sort of personalized attention is unheard of! I don't know how they do it, but keep up the good work, Doozy!!

Great place for the pups with an authentic caring attitude towards the animals

Doozydog rocks. The staff are kind and gentle with my girl who is a little skittish and their groomer is thorough and sweet. We are leaving the area and I doubt I will find somewhere as awesome so wanted to leave a review as a thank you to them.

Love this place! The people working there are so amazing.

DoozyDog Club is wonderful. The space is so inviting, our dogs LOVE it. The staff is kind and caring. We feel really comfortable knowing our dogs will be safe, cared for and happy when they visit DoozyDog! The parking is a little tricky downtown, but it's worth the extra time and trouble to know the dogs are going to have a great time!

Our puppy loves coming to this place! They split up the dogs by size and are very caring and sweet with her! They offer a complimentary meet and greet to make sure you dog is a good fit, awesome place would recommend

I boarded my ten month old Westie for the first time at Doozy Dog and was very pleased with the experience! I could watch my dog on the webcam and knew he was enjoying his stay! The staff is so friendly and good with the dogs! I will definitely board my dog there again!

This was our first contact with Doozy Dog Club. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was professional, communicative, pleasant, caring and simply nice people. On top of that, our PuppyFace was groomed beautifully. Will absolutely return for more services.

We took our dog here for the doggy day care service and loved it! They were able to get us in the same day for a meet-and-greet, offered us a full tour of the facility, and the staff was very friendly and responsive. We were able to watch our dog the entire time using their live webcams, and there was always someone interacting with the dogs and keeping the areas clean. Our dog had a great time, and we plan on going back soon!

I absolutely love this place! My dog is always so happy when she arrives. We've even bumped into staff at Starbucks and my dog goes nuts! Place is always clean and staff is attentive when you arrive for drop off and pick up. You can tell that staff is selected very carefully as it is obvious they all love dogs. This facility makes sure pups are up to date on vaccines and cameras are on at all times in all play sections so you can log in and view activity which for me gives me assurance that my dog is in good hands. I have a 3 yr old husky (she'll be 4 in October) who has been going to doozy for the las 2.5 years. I have millions of pictures of her and still find it so cute to see pics they take of her and post on their social media.

Super loving caregivers for your fur babies! And the grooming services are awesome. Love the report cards they give. Highly recommend.

I brought my shihpoo in for his trim here for the first time this past weekend, and he looked amazing! He went from a poor scruffy thing to a pampered and plush teddy bear. The groomer was excellent with him, and the prices are extremely fair and the time it took was pretty fast. Will be coming here now for his cuts always!

I had seen this place before I hit my puppy and always thought it would be great to sign a puppy up there. I recently called to ask about daycare now that I have a puppy. I got great customer service! Friendly and professional. Best of all they truly seem to enjoy having the Pups around. My puppy took the assessment test and stayed for 6 hours playing. I will definitively take him back soon. Specially because they don’t have way too many dogs so I feel like my puppy is still cared for closely.

I recommend Doozydog! constantly. Their staff are always warm and welcoming even on those crazy busy days, and they handle Sherlock and Watson so well (they're hard to handle dogs). I usually use the groomers, but even when I drop them off for daycare, they always come home happy, healthy, and well-cared-for.

Highly recommend Doozydog! Club. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. It was my first time bringing my dogs here to get groomed and the groomer i had did a fabulous job! Definitely taking my dogs here from now on.

The staff was so nice and my dog had a great time. I went in initially to just check it out and before I knew it my 1.5 year old French bulldog was signed up and loving his new friends. Seems clean and safe. Happy to have this nearby.
