I would bring my pug here almost every week to get her nails trimmed. I bring her one time when the owner is there and she refuses me service, citing my dog is too stressed! The other groomers have always helped me, but the owner can't handle a nail trim? Anyone that has owned a pug or groomed this breed knows they hate having their nails trimmed! Ridiculous and I won't be back. I was happy to support this small business, but I'll just have to start giving my business to Petco again.

I loved the shop! The atmosphere! The owner (I believe it’s the owner) and everyone else was super welcoming to us and sweet to our 2 month old husky. Our puppy Dallas came out of the Barkhouse looking like a million bucks????????????! I loved it there! Great prices! Professional! Reliable! And responsive! I called that morning and they were able to see our pup a few hours later????⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars! For sure!

0 stars. I am very upset with the haircut my dog received at the Barkhouse in Hillcrest. This was his first haircut and his groomer did not follow my directions. He is a scrappy little terrier with the cute tuffs of hair on his legs, face, and neck. I said they could trim those down to blend in better with his body. Well, one leg was trimmed down, the other wasn't. Next, his hair was growing faster on the neck than on the body. I asked for the groomer to blend it in. He shaved it down. He looks like a completely different dog on his body. I emphasized that the main thing I wanted was to trim his eyebrows. That was done half way. So, he still has those hanging down. I also asked for his under chin be trimmed all the way down. That was not done. Lastly, the trim around the face is choppy. It looks like a very unfortunate bob. I called Barkhouse to let them know what was going on. I talked to an employee and asked for a refund. He said he would ask the owner. She did not call me. I had to call again. She said, "You are just upset about the price". Um, excuse me, I paid the higher amount to have the salon expertise. She quoted back what I had asked for. I corrected her and said that I did not ask for an uneven leg trim and an A line haircut with a shave. She was very rude. She said she wouldn't refund the charge, that someone at the salon could fix it. Needless to say, I am not going back there for anyone to fix it. She also said, "When you left, you were happy about with the cut." People, how many times have you had a bad haircut and walked out, and then cried in your car? I was too embarrassed to say anything when I was there and also in shock. I didn't see how uneven legs were until we were home. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Regardless of the bad cut, the owner expressed 0 compassion. I should also mention that she put down my dog food, like it was the most terrible thing on the planet. Two veterinarians have recommended it, so that was very condescending. There are so many great reviews here, but that was not the case for me.

Very disappointed once again unfortunately. Been here a few times, friendly staff but overcharged me again and again.

My two chihuahuas ALWAYS get the best nail trimming here. Everyone thats helped me so far, is always nice to me and my furry babies as well. I moved from hillcrest to Lakeside, and O still make the drive because of how great they are at the Barkhouse.

My mom was in the hospital so I had to pick her dogs and bring them to San Diego. The guy on the phone, David I think, got me in the same day and the hair on coco was soft for multiple days following. Everyone was so happy and smiling. They kept my moms dogs separate because I wasn't sure about how they were with other ones. This place was amazing and I wish I had better picture with the bandanas on but they destroyed by the time we got home. LOVE this place, dogs love the tooth paste too

I have been going to this place for the past six months with out incident. I had an emergency and called 2 hours out to say I won’t have transportation to get my dog there. I get yelled at by the owner and told that I will be charged a fee when I book again. I was trying to be honest and call but they would rather a no call/no show. And that woman had the audacity to say good don’t call back. That attitude was uncalled for and so unprofessional.

Bobby did such a wonderful job giving my dog, Luna, a full groom today! Luna is not the easiest pup, but the crew at Barkhouse were so accommodating and patient with her. She has a beautiful new cut and even came home with some new CBD treats to try for her anxiety! 10/10 would recommend going to Barkhouse!

As a first time dog owner, I was recommended to Bark House by a friend. She did not share much about the place, only that it was better than taking to Petco or any other big pet shop with grooming services. I did a bit of research and immediately connected with Bark House when reviewing their website. There was a personal note from the owner, Dina, which I liked. Upon arrival, I had an even better experience. Dina and the entire staff were so attentive and friendly. Dina spends time with every client making you feel very welcomed. Their prices are fair and their service far exceeded my expectation. I am lucky to live nearby but even if I move to a different neighborhood, I would continue to take my dog to see Dina and her team. I highly recommend Bark House to anyone looking for good service at fair prices.

I absolutely love this place. I have been taking my beagle here for more than a year and cannot say enough good things. The staff truly love the pooches, all the services are completed on time, and everyone is just so friendly. If you’re looking for a great place to take your dog for grooming, your search is over.

This place is the absolute best you can get if you are looking for a grooming service!! The owner and staff were the nicest people and took the best care of my dog that you could. They really treated us like family and my dog like one of their own. My dog had been half cut by PETCO and mistreated so I came here and OMAR really impressed me with how kind and gentle he was with my fur boy. I can't give this place enough stars. They have even created a happy environment where dogs can walk around freely and be themselves! When I came to pick up Spud (my son) he was simply laying down watching the other dogs get groomed. I couldn’t be happier as a pup parent. I hope everyone reads this because I just became a customer for life. The picture on the left is what Petco did and on the right is after we went to barkhouse.

After having such a disappointing groomer experience with petsmart, we tried Barkhouse and we're amazed by their results! Our groomer was Omar, and he did such a great job with my puppy. Can't say enough good things about Barkhouse!!

My old pup has issues with her paw and nails and these guys are able to get into the tough spots and do the trimming I'm not comfortable doing. Bailey didn't even know her nails got trimmed and she's very anxious when it comes to her nails usually, great job!

I just bring my dog for a bath, and they are so good with him! He's a short hair so I don't need the grooming services, however they thoroughly wash him and clean out his ears and trim his nails. He always looks so handsome afterwards, and smells wonderful. The staff is very friendly and my dog always runs into the store.

Oh my Lord. This place is amazing!!! I have a 5 year old husky who isn't keen on baths. He cries a lot, shakes, is impatient, and overall quite a handful. I've had groomer's turn me down because of his attitude or because the amount of work that goes into grooming a husky, but this place was a miracle. On my first trip they not only groomed him, but they gave him a deshedding treatment that made his coat look BEAUTIFUL!!! And he smells so good! Highly, highly recommend!!!

We love barkhouse! We own a bullmastiff, and It was hard finding a reputable groomer for our dog Hooch. Many groomers couldn’t handle him because of his weight at 130 lbs but we are very fortunate to have found Barkhouse and our amazing groomer Sal! We are definitely loyal customers from now on and will only take our dog here.

I'm sure this dog grooming place is awesome, because a great friend of mine works here. His name is Vaughn. One of the best dog groomer I have ever known. His love for animals is simply second nature to him. He will take good care of your pet, if you end up getting your pet groomed by him.

The owner is a liar and rude. She told me on three separate occasions that they specialize in Portuguese water dogs, but then the groomer told me they have never seen one. She only lied to get me to bring my dog there and then they didn't shave him short enough and wouldn't let me watch because of covid-19. I believe they don't cut them short enough so you have to bring them back sooner. The owner over books everything and it is completely mismanaged. I was treated horribley. The owner basically told me she doesn't need any new clients because they're too busy after I told her I didn't like being treated that way and would not be returning.
