Always accommodating, friendly and great service! My dog is a scaredy-cat when it comes to grooming, having been injured by a groomer in the past; this is one place where I know she’s in good care.

Best groomer in town! Cage free and they let the dogs play in an enclosed area while they wait to be groomed. Staff is amazing and super friendly!

Our standard poodle comes out looking like a champion every time she comes here. Lisa and Andrea take good care of her, and I often get stopped walking her after I pick her up, with people asking about my beautiful poodle. I highly recommend House of Dog.

Terrible business model, substantially overpriced, bad communication. I wouldn't recommend. Many annoying things stand out about this experience so I'll stick to the one or two I disliked most. I hated dropping our 2 dogs off at 8:30am, at the exact same time as several others (5 or more) only to have them wait around until mid afternoon before they were attended to. This is entirely unnecessary and is a terrible experience for the dogs. Imagine a human showing up at their appointment for a haircut and having to wait around for several hours until it was convenient for the business to start work on them. It would never happen. We live less than 5 minutes away so I even asked if they could just call when they are ready to see them and I would bring them back. "No" was the reply. My 2nd largest annoyance was that the main and only employee at drop off, was so busy that there was little to no chance of her relaying instructions to the groomer. Of course, nothing was written down. I was a little worried about this and even provided a picture to work from for one of our dogs. This made no difference and had zero benefit, if it was even seen at all by the person doing the grooming. Our dog came out looking nothing like the picture we provided or the instructions I left. 15 seconds of communication could have prevented that. It's a dog grooming so it's not a big deal and it didn't ruin the day, just annoying, especially at those prices.

We have used house of dog for our tibetan terrier since he was a pup and he is now a year and a half. HOD really knows their stuff about proper cutting, cleaning and brushing our pup. We tried another groomer and it was a terrible experience and made us appreciate the attention to detail at HOD! The care, fun for our pup, detail and perfection of HOD makes it worth every penny!he is always happy to go there too! They are not cheap, but they are excellent, and worth it!

My Samoyed was a rescue , which required 6 hours to groom his matted coat. Beautifully groomed and happy at the end of a long day. Their generous drop off and pick up flexibility makes the drive from Mill Valley ia an added bonus.

I called at 9:45 to drop off my dog, Pele (French bulldog), for a wash and teeth cleaning. The front desk charged me $55 for the wash and comped me the $20 teeth cleaning for my first visit. When my girlfriend picked her up at 2, they said she wasn't quite dry yet and asked if she wanted to blow dry my dog. My gf said it was ok and asked if there was anything else needed to be done. The front desk person said Pele was ready to go otherwise. When my gf and dog arrived home, I noticed a few things: her nails were clipped very poorly and not filed, the wrinkles on her face weren't cleaned, and her teeth had some of her fur still stuck in her teeth and her breath still smelled (maybe less than before I dropped her off).

I’ve bringing my dog here for the past few years. She has a black lab border collie and always gets a bath, D shedding, nails clipped, and her teeth brushed. We’ve Always have had positive experiences. The work is always top notch. The staff is friendly and make it easy to drop off and pick up. It appears my dog enjoys her self while there. She’s always excited to be dropped off. She runs in without saying goodbye.

Lisa and the crew at House of Dog are real pros; grooming is the care of the dogs coat, not just a 'bath and a haircut' - I've learned much about dog care from them over the years and more importantly, my dogs like to go :)

My dachshund mixed with cocker got his poor ears cut super short, were I didn't recognize him. As well, his body hair was trimmed unevenly. Not only that but when I came to pick him up, the lady didn't want to show me my doggie before I paid her. Honestly, if I had seen his hair cut before, I wouldn't have paid $100 for the work. Worst experience and definitely won't come back.

I love the entire crew here! They take great care of my dogs. They recently discovered a potential medical issue with one of my furry babies. My vet said I should be very thankful to have such an attentive groomer. Great find in San Anselmo.

Well worth the drive from Novato to San Anselmo this little grooming salon is A much needed respite from those grooming salons in Marin County much so commonly chain the dogs up in a cage, their system as a more socially oriented one. A polite fun-loving staff and a detail oriented business owner who is there on most days. I recommend this grooming salon to all of my fellow Novatonians!
