Love the studio and the staff

I have a dog whose coat mats very easily. When she was a puppy it was easy to brush her and remove the mats. Over time, she developed a fear that removing the mats was going to be painful. She became so fearful that we could no longer brush her or have her groomed. She developed mats in her feet that needed to be removed. The only thing I could think to do was to have the vet sedate her and shave her feet. My vet refused to do so unless we received behavioral training for her. Our vet recommended “Follow My Lead”. I was skeptical but desperate. I signed my dog up for 3 sessions. At first, the process seemed so slow and I remained skeptical. By session 3 I began to see some improvement and signed up for 3 more sessions. We completed the 2nd series today with remarkable outcomes. Jennifer, her behaviorist, was able to actually use an electric grooming-shaver on her, something I didn’t think was going to be possible. My dog has come a long way and I believe we are well on our way to regaining her trust that we are not going to hurt her. The process will require my dedication to continue working with the dog for optimum results. We would not have gotten back to this point without Jennifer’s guidance. The time and financial sacrifice was worth the results.

Can’t say enough great things about Follow My Lead and Jennifer. She mixes the right amount of love, respect for the pup, and education for the owner into her lessons. My daughter’s 8 month old puppy is the best trained dog I have ever met after 6 months of classes (She is training her as a service dog.) Jennifer is professional, compassionate and knows her stuff. We will be bringing all our pups to Follow My Lead from now on.

Follow My Lead has far exceeded my expectations when I signed my puppy up for training. We started her at 9 weeks old, and she's now 5.5 months and has completed 6 one-on-one sessions, 3 group sessions, and many more puppy play times. I've watched her transform from a bit of a wild puppy into an (I might be biased here) absolutely perfect dog. We learned all basic commands including sit, down, come, loose leash walking etc., and have since gone onto more complex commands such as emergency recalls, staying with distractions, etc. Outside of teaching our puppy, I've also been able to shed many bad habits that I had in terms of training. The classes definitely have structure to them, but the trainers also allow enough flexibility where they're sure to address any issues that you're having, or will take time to focus on a specific command that you're interested in. I'll definitely continue our training here and wouldn't even consider going somewhere else. Liz is incredibly knowledgeable and great at what she does, our puppy loves going to class and makes a huge fuss when she greets her. I've met Jennifer on a few occasions as well, and it's clear that she too is incredibly experienced.

Jennifer clearly knows her profession. She has worked with my personal dogs and I’ve observed her in class with several other dogs. More importantly she works well with the owners to explain the logic behind her methods to ensure profess is made outside of her studio. I love that her studio is clean and not too big.
