We rescued Maggie from Ozzie and Friends a year ago. While we love our dog, over time we have discovered that they lied to us extensively during the adoption process. At the time, they told us she was a 1-2 year old rat terrier, fully …

So disappointed to find out this rescue is fake and just trying to push puppies from unethically bred homes and passing them off as rescues. I would give zero stars if possible. Their website is mainly showing puppies and so called younger dogs (around 80 to 85 percent) which is highly unlikely for a rescue organization. Usually puppies rarely come up in rescue groups. Nicole who runs ozzie and friends directs you to a foster family and has little to know details about the dogs that she has on her rescue organization. For instance where they are from, what vet checks on them, or anything for that matter. She gave me two different stories about the same puppy then told me to just talk to the foster family about where it came from. Upon meeting the puppy it was apparent it had bouts of diarrhea and they told me her sister had worms but she didn't. They provided no medical paperwork when asked about what the vet had said and what shots the dog had received. Nicole from NK9 training academy is the foster home and she claimed she did the shots herself but failed to provide any records when asked on multiple occasions. They didn't request to do a home inspection or even ask what I do for work or who would be with the puppy. They said pictures of my place would be enough. A real rescue group does more background check and verify if you will have a good family and home. They also interview many applicants to find the best one. Nicole said I could have the puppy on the spot even though she had only known me 10 minutes. This showed she only wanted money. The application was through the foster company and not the rescue. Nicole has even changed her number multiple times according to other complaints and checks i did when researching her. Nicole said she had the dog for only a week but was already pressuring quick adoption without taking care of the puppy long enough to know if it had serious medical conditions and to let it get accustomed to a different style of living compared to the "story" she told about how she found the puppies. This showed she was out to make a quick buck without actually caring for the animals. This is appalling and disgusting. They send out emails from the rescue that they find boxes of puppies all over which is suspect and even said they are moving their business to Mexico to get their "rescue" animals from there. The business has moved locations many times yet was only established as a non profit less than 2 years ago and only filed taxes for one year at $57k which seems low with all of the animals they are finding and selling through the rescue. Especially since their "adoption fees" are higher than other rescue groups and medical checks/shots from a vet were not included. I hope people see this and think twice and look for the red flags. I almost bought a puppy through them because it was a sweet puppy but that would just further fund the unethical breeding and selling of puppies with no medical checks which just gives people heartache and sadness when they findout their dog is sick after purchasing it.

I would give 0 stars if I could. The speed at which I was pressured to "adopt" on the spot was astounding....I met the dog for not even 5 minutes when Nicole was ready to get the sweet little puppy off her hands to turn over the next profit $$$ dog. This is what you would call a fake rescue organization that is puppy laundering. Nancy jimeno, Connie, and Nicole Flores (nk9 training academy) all work together to profit off unsuspecting adopters who think they are rescuing animals. In fact, they were willing to let me adopt a 4 month old puppy who had ZERO medical checks, not a single vet visit, no shots done by a vet (Nicole claimed she did the shots herself...!!!!) for $675. Honestly I loved the dog ruby and still wanted to pay the money but I knew this will only CONTINUE THE CYCLE OF PUPPY ABUSE AND BACKYARD BREEDING. When I asked what exactly the adoption fee was covering she told me should could find a new parent. She just wants as high markup as possible while operating under the guise of a "rescue". Adoption fees always cover cost of medical attention and no dog should EVER be adopted without a vet check. Not to mention, the adoption contract was with the "foster" parents training business rather than the rescue agency. If you look on their website nearly 80% of adoptable dogs are puppies or "young" which is HIGHLY UNUSUAL AND A MAJOR RED FLAG for any rescue group. They are SUCH PHONY LIARS and will give you a fake story about how they obtained the dogs (. They have so many dogs connie initially told me my dog was from Mexico then hours later remembered the dog was actually a "stray" from Fontana but when I met the dog and "foster mom" Nicole she told me a phony story about seeing a free puppy sign and the man only spoke Spanish and she didn't understand but knew it was "a bad situation" and wanted to get the puppies out asap. When I question about why she didnt also "rescue the mother" who she saw at the mysterious house she completely ignored me. Nicole and her dog groomer partner will tug at your heart strings and make you think they are good people but be warned...this operation has ALL the red flags of puppy mills. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE. GIVING THEM MONEY ONLY CONTINUES THE CYCLE. also I got an email today from Ozzie and friends saying they're moving their HQ to Mexico....not a good sign. Many local rescue groups know about OZZIE AND FRIENDS SHADY DEALINGS. DO YOUR REAEARCH DONT BE FOOLED!!!

Our friends were fostering a 6 month old puppy and we were over at their place during Memorial Day 2021. The puppy was scheduled to be picked up by the shelter that same day to get spayed. At the time of pick up, the dog was walked happily until the leash was handed over to the shelter rep, named Nancy. The same dog who was overly excited to see me earlier that day, and at the park countless times before was absolutely scared as soon as the leash was handed over. The dog tried to run back into the house upon realizing what was about to happen. This could just amount to fear of kennels but the worst part was seeing Nancy yank the leash a few times and eventually she needed to pick the dog up. That transition is everything to the dog, what Nancy did instills fear into dogs. Instead of comforting the dog and eliminating its fear positively the dog was shown that it should be afraid and that her fear did not matter. That brief encounter alone is a huge red flag and anyone looking to adopt from this shelter should be aware of their handling of animals.

Ozzie and Friends is a wonderful rescue organization! They go above and beyond to get their dogs into the right homes and then to support those placements by assisting with training both in obedience and behavior if needed. They go out of their way to help to assure success and are there to re-assure and answer questions along the way. They are true angels. I recommend them wholeheartedly. Thank you for bringing the love’s letter Finn into our lives and all you’ve done thus far! Mary & Steve

Updating our prior review from 5 stars to 2. We adopted a shy female dog from Ozzie and Friends. She was reportedly a rescue from Mexico, spayed, approximately two years old. This was 7 months ago. Since then we have spent thousands on trainers and vets, to find out several new things- that she was not properly spayed (she went into heat so she underwent exploratory laparotomy and removal of two ovaries that the first "spay" missed), she is extremely reactive to strangers (dog training continues for this), and according to the vet doing her dental today her teeth indicate that she is 8 years old. I suggest anyone adopting from this organization have the animal examined by their own veterinarian. While we still love our dog and will continue to provide her with a forever home, the stark contrast between what was reported to us and reality has been a shock.

I am so grateful to have found Ozzie and Friends. My fiance and I had been ready to add a new member to our family for a while, and had been searching for months with no success. Luckily, we showed up for an in-person adoption event at Ozzie and Friends. We didn't find our new pup that day, but we connected with Alice, who was SO helpful in doing everything she could to match us with the right dog. Alice eventually called me to let me know that we should come in, as she had a few dogs in mind. We met Luz (previously"Dora") and fell in love. Unfortunately, Luz was pretty sick as she had literally just been rescued two days prior. Nancy and Joe made sure to vaccinate, microchip, and provide Luz with medications AND a cute harness, collar and leash. Nancy let me know that Ozzie and Friends would support us in getting Luz back to good health, and they did! Nancy helped us navigate Luz's vet visits, medication, and the stress (and worry) of being a new pup parent. Alice and Nancy check in here and there even two months after our adoption, and are ALWAYS available for help, a chat, or just to share cute pictures and videos with. Thank you Ozzie and Friends for helping us bring our new baby girl home!!!

Words cannot express how grateful I am for the staff and owners of Ozzie and Friends Rescue Organization. My husband and I headed there Saturday to adopt a new dog, we had just put our 17 yr old down a few days earlier, and they brought us two of the gentlest and loving fur-babies we could have ever hoped for. They let us spend as much time as we needed and only offered positive encouragement, answered all of our questions and let us make the decision to adopt. Since adopting our two girls I have received multiple texts and calls from the owner and staff at Ozzies checking on us and none of my texts or calls has gone unanswered for more than 3 minutes (not an exaggeration), the support has been invaluable to us feeling confident transitioning the girls to our home. If you are looking to adopt a dog (or two!) in need, Ozzie and Friends is where you will find dogs they have saved and loved until their new families come and find them. I am eternally grateful to Ozzies. Please check them out! -The Robinson Family

Can’t say enough about Ozzie and Friends! We first participated in their volunteer dog walk and now are a proud Ozzie family having adopted one of their puppies. This place is standout because 1. They clearly love their dogs! These are very caring dog people who want to put great dogs into great homes and 2. This is a rescue that homes dogs effectively and quickly. So many rescues hold onto dogs for far longer than needed because they are unresponsive, low-staffed, etc but not Ozzie. Awesome organization and we’ll stay in touch with them/hope to continue fostering.

Our family was looking to adopt our first dog. Ozzie and Friends Rescue was the perfect place for us to get him. Nancy treated us like family from day one. She answered all of our questions by email, in-person, and by text. She was very friendly. You can tell that she loves what she does and takes very good care of her animals. When we arrived at Ozzie and Friends Rescue we witnessed other dogs being taken for a walk. Some are allowed to foster to adopt, which we chose to do. Nancy helped us by referring us to a great vet and suggested healthy food & supplements to keep his fur soft and shiny. After adopting our Ollie, we followed up with Nancy by text and she always asks for us to keep sending more pictures. We even took Ollie back for a visit and he was so excited to see Nancy (one of the pictures attached). A little about Ollie, he was rescued from a hoarders house in Mexico who had 40 other dogs. He was only about a year old. This was a crucial time in his life to make sure he was treated with the appropriate shots and received good care to prevent him from getting a lifelong illness. We quickly learned that Ollie was house trained, healthy, and just needed a lot of love. I have suggested Ozzie and Friends Rescue to several friends and will continue to do so. We're so grateful that Ozzie and Friends Rescue does the work they do and take such good care of animals that need the most love.

This is a local great rescue organization. They work hard and do everything they can to help dogs in need. I adopted my first pittie through them 2 years ago and I can’t imagine our family without her in our lives. Forever grateful to OAF for saving her so she can be in our lives.

I can’t say enough good things about this rescue. We had been looking for a pup and this was the only place that would return my inquiries about dogs. The others took about a month. I got to go down and see pups right away, and then even attend an adoption event where we found our little guy. The pups come chipped and they provide the first set of shots, along with paying for rabies shot and spay or neuter. Our little guy is thriving and Ozzie rescue has been available anytime we needed help or had a question. I’d recommend you go see them right away for your new pup.

One of the most amazing rescues... Nancy and Joe put their heart and soul into all their rescues making sure they are placed into the perfect safe Furever home...they have never hesitated to take into their rescue a dog that I’ve been ask to help find rescue for no matter what issues or medical they may have...their ultimate ending is a Happy Tails into a safe happy home and environment...I am truly blessed that they were highly recommended to me!!

I'm currently doing foster to adopt and this has been an incredible rescue. Everyone has been kind and helpful, but I've had the most interaction with Alice and Nancy. They are always quick to help whether I have a general question or need a vet appointment for my dog and you can tell they are enthusiastic about whatever they're doing. I highly recommend this rescue!

Ozzie and Friends made the adoption process SO smooth and covered all of Mari's expenses before getting to me. Nancy is beyond helpful at making sure the pups are taken care of and the rest of the team is passionate about giving these dogs a second chance. I couldn't get Mari's ear infection medication since I was too far and the team went above and beyond to physically bring it to me, showing how attentive they are at ensuring their medical needs are met. If you're looking for a trusting adoption organization to find your new best friend, you've found the right place!

My family and I had a wonderful experience with Ozzie and Friends Rescue! We recently adopted “Bianca” and the whole team was incredibly supportive and gave great care to place the dog with the right family — and we couldn’t be happier! She is the sweetest and most loving dog! Thanks again Ozzie and Friends!

Despite the negative reviews below, my husband and I had a great experience at Ozzie & Friends. We met our senior dog, Bud, there and the adoption process was smooth and the owner Nancy, is very kind. They truly care about the dogs and also helps ones that are feral, sick, or that other places will not take. I definitely recommend checking them out if your looking for a new dog, just make sure to make an appointment or go during one of their adoption events!

Nancy from OAF has gotten rescued dog's perfect homes with loving families who take them on adventures, give them human and doggie siblings and and the type of love they probably have never known before. She saves dogs from questionable fates in the shelter or on the street and finds the perfect families for them and I am very grateful for her for that. She shares the happiest updates and it makes me so relieved and grateful.
