I like that they have responded to Covid, not by closing or reducing services but by eliminating clients coming inside. They come get your dog from the car when it is your turn. I really like this and hope they keep this practice after Covid.

My vet would not respond to me about an ear infection in my 15 year old dog, so I called Victoria Animal Hospital and they got us right in. They were so kind to my dog and so professional. Their prices are better than my regular vet's prices. I will definitely recommend this business in the future.

I appreciated their willingness to get our dog in quickly & perform surgery prior to us needing to leave town for the holidays. The Dr. was very thorough and explained everything happing with our pet meticulously. They also called the next day to follow up on her status & check her well-being. They truly seem to care about their pet patients and it shows.

Just had the best experience here! Brought my big boy, Zeus, to Victoria Animal Hospital and I'm overjoyed I found our new Vet!! They are so wonderful, took great care of Zeus, taught me how to clean his ears, and even called the next day to check on him. Zeus loves them, too! Thank you so much!!

Great and prompt care. Flexible hours in a pinch. Doctors and vet techs are super kind, patient, and thorough--especially with regard to follow up.

New to the area, brought my dog in she is a poodle mix 4 years old for vomiting and diarrhea they prescribed her 7 Days of very very strong antibiotic I completed the 7 days but now she's suffering from acid reflux I believe the medications damaged her stomach lining, after I read about that medication is usually not prescribed for that many days I called them up and they wanted to do blood work and stool sample which was going to be another 200$ which I already had spent $200 on the meds and injections, you would think that they would know that prescribing the antibiotics would mess up their stomach but they wanted to do all these tests I don't have that kind of money... just proceed with caution and ask questions.

I truly appreciate the care and attention Baby received. He was not at all traumatized by his visit and started getting better right away. Also, the entire staff was beyond amazing, from the techs to the doctor. I will be taking my MANY other pets there, from now on!

Victoria Animal Hospital was awesome! You were able to get me in when 5 other veterinarian services (including 4 emergency vets and my own vet) had said they were too busy. I appreciated that more than I can say, and the care Liberty received was excellent. Thank you so much!

Such a disappointment since Dr. Robinson retired. I went to Dr Robinson for 40 years. These people are all about money only. They give you 2 treatment estimates which are insanely high so you can decide if you want good or neglectful, insufficient treatment for your pets. They put roadblocks up on every request for treatment. I needed to put my 20 year old cat to sleep which is extremely difficult any way. These jokers had to have a wellness check to assess his environment and then they would get back to me at some point as to whether or not they would consider it because the doctor is pro life and pro charging any way he can. We put up with their ridiculously obvious quest for money and strange ways to dream up high fees for a year or so. The fleecing is finally over. You have been warned.

This hospital is locked down due to the covid-19 restrictions again, which I understand. I just wish my first time experience was more personal. I paid for the doctors exam and there was not the four hour wait like other "popular Veterinary services". Drop off and pickup was more organized and gave everybody plenty of space.

We have gone to Victoria Animal Hospital since the 1980's for our cats and dogs. Took my dad's cat in March as her health started to decline. Did what they asked and she continued to lose weight, hair, and looked like she felt horrible. My dad recently passed and none of us could take her. His wishes the week before he died was to have her put down due to overall health and for ruining all of his furniture by peeing/pooping all over everything. Took her for an evaluation expecting that they'd recommend she be put down and instead they recommended antibiotics and another shot (steroids?). We arranged for a foster as vet recommended we re-home her instead of put her down, and she had gotten so bad by the time the foster took her that an emergency vet put her down due to a baseball sized tumor. How did the vet miss that 5 days before? How did they miss it in March? They never told me she had cancer. A beautiful cat who didn't deserve the cruddy last months she had to endure. So sad that I can no longer recommend this vet and heartbroken that their lack of proper care killed her.

A loyal owners cat was surrendered to our rescue because her owner passed away and no family members were able to keep her . She was seen by this Vet 6/22/21 and told the owners family member she was just underweight but overall healthy . You look at these pictures and tell me if she looks healthy ? How could they not Notice a baseball size tumor on her , how could they not know cancer was killing her slowly !!!! I don’t recommend this Vet at all!!!! To top it off we speak to the Vet to ask him a few questions he gets extremely defensive, rude and hangs up on us . If we can chose zero stars we would do so!

EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. VERY LONG WAIT OUTSIDE. (Never had issue with quality of care - but never had any health issues with my pets before either.) I made an appt for 8 am to get my 6 mos old husky vaccinated. I wanted to bring both of my huskies at the same time, but was told I couldn't. I was told I, also, had to purchase an exam. Ok. I get there at 7:58, and am the FIRST client there. Not only was the parking lot empty - the girl told me I was the first one there. She told me I needed to wait because the vets all start work at 8:30. What? Why make appts for 8:00 when there's not a vet there until 8:30? Ok. Whatever. She also said she would take my puppy inside to wait. I said no because I didn't want her waiting in a cage, and scared, that she could wait outside with me. At 8:47 they finally take my husky puppy. She was SECOND! (the 2nd dog came more than 10 mins after me). The girls response was "Well you didn't want us to take her in". A well dog check and some vaccinations SHOULD NOT TAKE LONG. At 9:11 I call in to ask when she'll be ready. The vet calls me back at 9:13 to discuss the vaccines. Then they call me again at 9:30 to pay and say she's ready to be picked up. I say "Great. I'm already in the parking lot." By 9:48 am, they still haven't brought her out. So I call and ask to talk to the vet. He said he's been done with her for a long time and am surprised shes still there. At this point I'm fed up! And I cancel my appt to have my other husky vaccinated the next day. I, also, cancel my appt to have my 6 mos old husky spayed a few days later. They brought my puppy to the car at 10:02 am. And said their printers are out of ink, that I would be emailed my proof of rabies and vaccinations. UNBELIEVABLE! I work the night shift, hadn't slept yet - and barely made it home safely. AGAIN ... A WELL DOG CHECK AND VACCINATIONS SHOULD NOT TAKE 2 HOURS! ESPECIALLY BECAUSE I WAS THE FIRST CLIENT OF THE DAY! I can pay another vet less than $750 to spay my dog and not have to wait so long. As stated above .... overpriced, and long wait! I would definitely recommend this place if you have extra money you want to give away, and if you love to wait for long periods of time in hot parking lots.

Initially I thought Victoria Animal Hospital (VAH) was a great vet. I was wrong. Here's the story: My cat woke up one day with low energy and a swollen lump full of pus. I was obviously distressed and gave VAH a call. On our first visit the staff (who were all very sweet) got my cat in several days after I called (which seemed long to me but they were busy, understandable), checked him out, and after an expensive blood test, told me he was fine, but seemed a bit anemic which explained the lethargy. The doctor kept asking me if he was an outside cat or had been in a fight, and although I told him several times he was a strictly indoor cat, he didn't listen and continued giving me advice on keeping my cat indoors. Weird, but fine. What was weirder was when he told me my cat had leukemia and should be put down. I kept asking how long cats with leukemia survived and what could be done to make him comfortable and happy for as long as possible, but the doctor wouldn't give me an answer. He kept saying he didn't know because "most people just put them down." This felt callous to me, because there was no evidence that he could give me that my cat needed to be put down immediately, and got annoyed with me when I kept asking. He also ignored two of the other issues my cat was experiencing until I asked the doctor to check again THREE TIMES. Fast forward several days. I take my cat to a second check-up with them and they said he was okay-ish, his RBC was still low, and had I considered putting him down yet. No one could give me a good explanation for why I should put him down immediately rather than trying to figure out what was wrong with him, and the doctor didn't seem to want to help. He wrote off my questions because he had decided my cat would just need to be put down. Frustrating! That same week, my cat took a turn for the worst and seemed at death's door. After frantically trying to find a single vet clinic that could tell me what was going on (VAH was closed) I finally found a local clinic that told me he was SEVERLY ANEMIC, way more anemic than I was originally told DAYS PRIOR, and that he needed a blood transfusion or he would die. The only place that had blood was California Vet Specialists in Ontario, so I drove. They were able to save his life, thankfully, but when they gave me the full detailed read-out on his vitals, I was horrified. When VAH said his RBC was "okay-ish," it was actually incredibly low and they should have known then that he needed a transfusion. Instead, they charged me TWICE for an examination and sent him home with superfluous medication. California Vet Specialists also told me that he didn't need to be put down ASAP because there were various treatments, medications, and other things we could try to stabilize him; putting him to sleep was their VERY LAST OPTION (and they were compassionate about it!!!) while it was VAH's FIRST AND ONLY OPTION. My cat, the cat VAH wanted to put down without a decent explanation and who they only provided reactive, rather than proactive, treatment for, is still alive today, several months after that first visit to VAH. If I had relied on VAH my cat would be ashes right now. I am so glad I went elsewhere. Oh, and another thing: getting decent care at VAH is more trouble than it is worth. The assistants are super sweet, but every time I've gone there they have forgotten to check me in and left me waiting for over an hour despite multiple calls and conversations with staff. The doctor is not careful with check-ups and seems to give every animal a cursory glance. One of the male phone assistants acted bored and inattentive while I was giving him important medical information, then got annoyed with me when I told him he'd gotten almost all of it wrong and needed to write it down again. To whoever is reading this: if VAH is the best care you can afford, PLEASE do your research on what's going on with your pets and ask the doctor to explain his medical decisions. Get secondary opinions. Or just consider going somewhere else altogether. It could save a life.
