Wonderful place for my Belgian Malinois and me to learn behavior modification and training. My maligator has been going for almost a year..and he always gets excited when we get near and he smells Metro Dog

Metro Dog has been a lifesaver in socializing and caring for our pup. We've been going to them for daycare 1-2x/week with our 5 month Husky for the past few months. She used to be "a lot" with our preschool age kiddo and with other dogs--she just LOVES to play and needed to learn how to do so appropriately. Now she and our kid love each other, she is regularly the pup at the dog park who helps more timid dogs warm up without overwhelming them, and she has learned how to independently take breaks when she needs them. These skills would not have come so quickly if it weren't for the folks at Metro Dog. They do a great job of gradually socializing so dogs don't go past their threshold and especially when in the puppy program, give regular updates on progress. We also boarded her there once overnight and had a very positive experience. Finley sings her praises of MetroDog in the form of an excited howl from the time we hit the exit on the freeway until we get to the front door.

Staff are knowledgeable and take excellent care of the dogs. Diane has many years experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. My dog has learned how to appropriately socialize and loves coming here

The amazing team at Metro Dog is largely responsible for my pup being the saint he is with our two-year-old daughter and for him being an all-around good boy. We have relied on their care and advice for six years. I am an ICU nurse and my husband is a paramedic. They have worked with us to accommodate crazy hours and long shifts so that our dog could get the care and attention he needs. They are a compassionate and dedicated group of people who genuinely love what they do; this love shows in how they care for your dog. Metro Dog is a second home to my pup. If you have adopted a dog recently, or are just looking to get you dog more exercise during quarantine, please consider bringing them to join Metro Dog.

Our pup, Harkness, LOVES Metro Dog. She is so excited to pull into the parking lot and she would probably jump out of the moving car if we let her. She loves all the people there so much. No kidding, one time at the off leash dog park she sprints off like a bat from hell, and obviously we go running after. Turns out she's seen one of her human friends from day care and she needed to go say hi! We moved from El Cerrito to SF and still take her to Metro because we love it so much.

I rely on Metro to provide my dog with other humans/friends to relate too. They do an excellent job as she is very happy to see them. Comes home relaxed and tired.

Hands down THE BEST DOG DAYCARE in the East Bay. The owners really care about the dogs more than they care about numbers etc. This is the only place I have not worried about my dog while in someone else’s care. Fabulous inside and outdoor facilities. SUPPORT THIS LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS you won’t regret it and your dog will be happy. Honestly my dog tries to go back inside each day I pick him up.

Metro Dog has been great! As a business they are good to work with. The people are friendly, flexible and professional. Most importantly, Harry, our little dog clearly enjoys his time at Metro dog, likes visiting his Metro friends and I know he is taken care of and loved while there. He wiggles happily when I drop him off.

Absolutely the most unfriendly interview experience I ever had. The person who interviewed me obviously knows dogs but his people skills are the worse I have ever seen. The management should keep him in the back room where he doesn't have to deal with real people.

I had heard good things about MetroDog initially, so I thought I'd give them a shot. I travel every month for work so I was looking for a good place to come to consistently. I took my dog in for an assessment, and everything seemed fine. They required I leave her there for daycare a couple times before an extended stay so should could get used to it. Also fine. I can understand the need for that. I saw some signs for the future from these visits. When she came home from daycare, she seemed lethargic and unhappy. No wagging, walking slowly, sleeping for longer periods of time, and avoiding food more than usual. I thought she was just tired from all the play she had gotten. Fast forward to the extended stay, I drop her off and began my trip. Upon my arrival home 3 days later, I inspected her as I picked her up and noticed a few worrying things. Her body had raised scratches down the side and her tail was kinked. The scratches I can understand; play can get rough sometimes. The kinked tail looked like it had been stepped on or slammed in a door, though. I asked if anything of note had occurred during her stay, they assured me, "just good things! No issues!" I take my dog's health and safety to heart. I consider a kinked tail to be a big red flag. Now if something had happened, say a handler had accidentally closed her tail in a door and caused the kink, again I could understand. Accidents happen! But do NOT tell me everything was okiedokey if there's clearly an issue staring all of us right in the face, right in front of us. My dog has a tail that normally doesn't quit. The week following her stay, it never raised up, and hardly wagged besides the sway from her walking. Lethargy, sleep, and avoidance of food dominated her personality once again. On another note, they don't provide updates unless there is an issue, like when my dog caught a mild case of kennel cough at their facility. She also returned home with fleas, but I can understand that. This could have been a very costly visit without pet insurance. I want my dog safe. I want my dog happy. I want my dog to be taken care of. I expect a certain level of integrity. For these reasons, I will not be taking her to MetroDog ever again.

I have not used the boarding or day care services but gone several times for the puppy social. The trainers are wonderful with the dogs and make sure they play well. They have a large room where the puppies can run around and my puppy is very happy to come here.

Owner isn’t as polite as I expected. Place is not always clean. There used to be one really good trainer but she left. Workers don’t know what they are doing or which dog is which.

This dog daycare is very accomodating, great hours (6am-9pm) and can accept late drop offs and early pick ups. They do take in a lot of dogs, but the play rooms are separated by size of dog and playful level so that your dog is in the best environment possible. The workers also obviously care about dogs and have gotten to know my dog by name when we walk in! Only reason it's 4 star and not 5 is because the rooms and outdoor area are all a little small. I understand that this is because they are operating in the bay area where real estate is super expensive, but Texas doggy daycares have spoiled me into expected wide open running spaces. They also do house calls for a pretty low rate and offer lots of extra services if you're into really spoiling your dog.
