Fantasia Pet Resort Reno, California

Boarded dog here over New Year. We've taken our dog to another boarding company here in Reno for many years but this was a last minute trip and they were not available. Fantasia had good reviews and had availability so we figured it couldn't be too bad and it worked for what we needed. When we came back and picked up our dog, however, there were a number of issues. 1) His bed was competely destroyed. He has had that same bed for 5 or 6 years without any issues with chewing. We believe he was either placed with another dog (which he was not supposed to be) or he got extremely bored and got anxious which, again, has never happened during any previous boarding. We were told he'd be walked multiple times a day and get some interaction. At our other kennel he was walked 4 times daily and had dedicated play time during the day. 2) He scratched up his nose. It looked like a scratch from another dog but may also be from rubbing against the floor or door. Again, likely bored if that's the case. Goes back to point 1. 3) He has a bad case of kennel cough and he not been eating much since he got back. His shots were current and since we've taken him to the vet and they confirmed kennel cough. Again, this has never happened when boarded previously. If he was isolated we're not sure how he got kennel cough if sanitization was occurring regularly. Staff didn't seem overly concerned with any of the issues when he was picked up. Disappointed. Overall, not what we were hoping and considering the price is about the same as our other kennel we will try avoiding Fantasia as a backup option. Was really hoping to have a solid backup for our primary facility as they book fast and furious and sometimes life has last minute changes.

We like the place - have been using it for 8+ years. The dog seems to enjoy the stay. We also always ask for a bath on a check-out day as they do a good job here and it’s nice to pick up a clean and happy dog. Highly recommend.

I travel quite a bit and have a high energy and big dog and they work so well with him and never make me feel bad about having a high energy dog. The staff is so great and the prices are great. My dog always comes home exhausted and gets so happy when we pull into the parking lot. Always recommend here whenever people ask. I never have any worries while he's here and they have been helpful when needing to administer medicine. No complaints! We LOVE fantasia pet resort!!

I have been bringing my dogs to Fantasia for grooming for about 2 years now & every time I am so impressed. They do a FANTASTIC job with our long-haired German Shepherd mix. We live almost an hour away & go out of way to patronize Fantasia because of the great work they do & their super customer service.

Dropped off 2 dogs for grooming. Staff was great. Friendly and very helpful. Prices are good. We will be back. The facility is clean. They board dogs and other services as well

I took a terrible fall at 4am while letting out one of my dogs. I couldn't move, but was able to crawl back into house to call ambulance. I knew this was bad, I called Fantasia and thank heaven they were able to pick up my 3 rescue Greyhounds. I was in surgery hours later, and would not be home for several days. I called to check on them. No one can know what to do when something like this happens. I live alone, and Fantasia was fantastic and gave real meaning to Kindness

We had an emergency situation when, on the day we were to leave for my grandfather's funeral who died a year ago alone in the hospital from COVID, the other kennel we had made a reservation at in April for the correct dates had no record and no room for our dogs. We were trying to drop them off at 6:30 p.m. as our flight left at 11:00 p.m. My wife had made the original reservation and was now frantically crying and calling other kennels trying to get someone to watch our dogs so that we didn't have to miss What would have probably been the last time I get to see my last living grandparent alive and go to my grandfather's funeral as well as see the rest of my extended family and immediate family who have I have not seen in 2 years. To us, this trip had been a year of planning thousands of dollars spent 14 total days of PTO TAKEN And 3 life events I will never get back. When we called this location the staff member was almost immediately rude and told us that they probably had room but it was getting close to the end of her shift and she did not want to stay late. We did not have our dog's vaccination records with us at the time but we were on our way home to get them and we explain the situation but at this point the staff member started talking over my wife and my wife hung up in tears as I could hear the staff member talking non stop. I called back and offered to pay her $200 to stay a few minutes late so that we could go on this important trip. I explained the situation with my grandfather and what had happened and why this was so important and why my wife was upset but the staff member said because my wife was "rude" by hanging up she wouldn't even consider it. She even had the audacity to Completely negate the importance of seeing my family and attending my grandfather's funeral by saying she had had a family member "die recently". I don't want to overstate my own importance but I do work in high level surgery and I get paid salary to put other people's lives ahead of my own life, time, and well-being without getting paid overtime and sometimes I work more than 20 hours in a day even when I'm not scheduled to. At some point I will most likely care for some one(or already have) that this staff member knows or is related to. If this is how they treat human lives I have my doubts on how much they care about K9 companions. These are my fur children and now because I have to take care of them I will miss one of the most important days of this decade for me aside from the money and time I've already dedicated and now lost. I am always Leary at leaving my dogs at a kennel because I have seen and heard so many horror stories of dogs being neglected. If she won't stay 15 minutes late to take care of our dogs in an emergency when they have space for them will she stay 15 minutes late if she hasn't taken all the dogs out in the afternoon?

We have been boarding our dogs at Fantasia for over 7 years and have always had an excellent experience. Our dogs are always happy and excited when we drive down the driveway which is a great review! They love to participate in the Doggy Daycare. We also have them groomed at the end of their stay and they return home so clean with a cute bandana. Their prices are very reasonable. The staff at Fantasia is very accommodating and caring. We will continue to use Fantasia whenever we need to board our pups. Thank you, Fantasia!

I've boarded my 2 dogs for a week twice and each time I've been very happy about it. First when we first moved here and another on vacation. The price is very reasonable and they don't charge for any extra fees or activities like walking them or playing or kennel size. The good thing is that they separated the big and little dogs so my anxious boy dog is fine because he gets nervous and overwhelmed with bigger dogs. I've also groomed them twice and they charged $50 each for everything for under 25 lbs. Due to covid, they are only in the office at certain times but they will always return your call or email you back. I feel I needed to write a positive review because they've been very supportive and accommodating with me!

They took 4 hours and her fur is not done right on her face. 15 minutes after doing the review, Kristi called me had me come back and she is fixing it. Thank you for the fast response Kristi.

I have never boarded my dogs before and a co-worker had mentioned Fantasia... They were absolutely amazing! I got lost and they were kind enough to get my from the gas station down the road, and showed me the pet resort. They are all so nice and truly care about my animals. They explained everything to me on what to bring and the pickup and drop offs times. I will definitely be back....in fact they are staying the night tomorrow night! Thanks Fantasia!

My dog stayed here a couple months ago for the first time. Unfortunately, we will not be going back. First of all, I never actually saw any dogs playing in the yard which is a bit concerning to me. What was most frustrating though was that when dropping her off I asked them give her medicine with her meals. They told me it would be no problem to do that. When picking her up, I specifically asked if they gave her that medicine because they had called me to report symptoms she’d had while on my trip that made me question if they gave them. They told me they had. When I was on my way home I checked the bottle and it was filled to the brim, exactly how I had left it. They get one star. First, because if a company that is supposed to specialized in dogs can’t even carry out a simple request, then that company isn’t doing their job. And second, above all else, I was lied to straight to my face and I REALLY don’t appreciate that.

My dog Mac seemed to have a great time! They accidentally gave my dog food container to another costumer, so they went out and bought a new one for me and hand delivered it to my door that day! Above and beyond with customer service.

I have brought both of my dogs to Fantasia, ever since I have been living in Reno and I am ALWAYS pleased with the service and with my dog's response when I pull up to the facility! Honey is ALWAYS excited and happy when I pull into the driveway which is a GREAT recommendation for me! When I call on the phone, they always remember my dog Honey and have nothing but good things to say about her. This last visit, I explained that my dog was getting older and was getting arthritis and the person at the counter courteously explained all of my activity options for her. I really appreciate it! Staff is friendly and accommodating, facilities are clean. I have boarded my hunting dog here and bring my little dog in for grooming monthly. Good people, good place.

We are very happy with our experience at Fantasia Pet Resort! Friendly staff and great communication. We have boarded our pup there twice for extended stays and have been happy with the experience both times. She also received grooming treatment and looked beautiful when we picked her up from her stay. Thank you, Fantasia!

We have used Fantasia Resort for about 7 years and have always been happy with them and their services. After the first time we took our dog there (ofcourse I worried) but he loved it so that put my worries to rest. This last weekend we had to board our dog for 3 days and 2 nights. I had my husband drop him off and when he got home he said he had a weird feeling, the guy at the counter who checked him in and took our dog to the back just seemed off to him and like maybe he wasn't a dog person. So that immediately made me uneasy. We always provide our dogs food prepackaged for him during his stay. And for the first time ever our dog didn't really want to go with the guy which was odd because he's always so excited to be there no matter who works the counter. Anyway, we ended up coming back early because we couldn't get over that uneasy feeling. So our baby only spent one full night and I guess technically 2 days. We had asked for play time for him each day as well. When we picked him up the guy said they had just fed him dinner (4PM) so he should be good for the night. When we got home there was 2 bags of his food left and if they fed him like we asked he should have only had one. And they didn't charge us for play time so I'm assuming he didn't get any. I am really sad and disappointed because Fantasia was the only place we would trust with our baby besides family. After this experience we won't be going back. Perhaps it was an oversight on their part or a new employee, either way not happy about several things and more so wondering what really goes on behind closed doors, they used to give us a report on our dog when we picked him up, now it's pay us and here's your dog. Always trust your gut. Just my opinion and concerns.

I wish I would have known about this business sooner! After spending so many years arranging for dog sitters and stressing to make plans for my furry best friend, I appreciate Fantasia Pet Resort so much for making the process easy and awesome. Knowing my dog is in safe hands is priceless, but Fantasia's great rates are nice too ;)

We have been taking our dogs to Fantasia for over 5 yrs. Their outdoor play yard is clean and well attended. The boarding services are also very good. If you need GROOMING, look no further...the best groomer around❗❗

I am very glad they were able to groom Ella. She gets very scared of the groomers just from past experience so hopefully she gets better coming back. I know she gave Laurie a very hard time, but she very patient with her. She came out very soft and majority of her brown spots on her face from tears were gone. Love the addition of the bandana.
