VCA Care Animal Hospital Redding, California

I had to bring my dog in at 2:00 a.m. after it was attacked in its own yard by a pit bull. After speaking to the veterinarian we both decided that it would be best to put my poor dog down, due to its injuries being to severe. The veterinarian and the staff were very polite and courteous. I absolutely can't thank them enough for helping us through this very difficult time.

It was my dog's time to go (West highland terrier with lung problems) and I could not have asked for a more professional, caring staff. They genuinely helped me get through what is always a difficult experience for pet owners. This happened quite some time ago and the kindness of the staff still sticks with me.

Did not give me the first visit free as they advertise. Brought this to their attention and gave me the run around. I even called their corporate office which told me it was the clinic's responsibility, not theirs. I don't mind paying, its just if they advertise the first visit free, then they should keep their word in doing so. They did show my pet love and did a great job getting the mats out of her fur. Would be 5 stars if they would do as they advertise. (Edit: This is a review for the person I caregiver for. Nonetheless, the names are not important for a review, it's the service provided that is in question.)

Such a kind and understanding staff, on a very tough day. These wonderful folks definitely provided some "extras" to ensure the best care for our furbuddy, and us too. Compassion... that's what we found. Thank you all.

They make the covid restrictions more bearable for the animals. Love the veterinarians here

we have used them for over 10 years when they were bought by vca i wanted to take our pets somewhere else had problems with vca only care about money not your pets but my wife wanted to keep them we usually boarded our dogs with them when out of town but because of covid they would not board them we found another place wonderful place that we will now use one of our dogs had someting with her eyes and needed a vet asap to look at the boarding place took her to care since we had used them for 10 years on our request they wouldn't see her said to busy and she needed a vet so they then took her to a vet in cottonwood another wonderful vet call us multiple time about dog i complained to vca care person on the phone about service and longtime customer asked for a call back from manager STILL waiting find someone else for you pet needs

For low cost spay and neuter I can't believe in is outragiously high compared to the city.

Our dog was attacked by the neighbors two dogs. VCA took very good care of our dog. They were great. And he is doing great.

Our dog got into the Lysol when she was a 6-month-old puppy and they took her and immediately gave her an ultrasound got the charcoal in her they did everything they could and they saved her life period and I know this doesn't mean a lot but you have to bring it up price is a concern we don't like to admit it, but it is a concern when you're dealing with pets. Our pet is a German Shepherd and just turned 1-year-old. We wouldn't have her if it wasn't for the quick thinking of this hospital and for that I will always be grateful.... ????❤️

This place is really great!! I don’t trust anyone with my 10 year old Angel pit bull named Halo, I have had a lot of dogs in my life that never last that long and this dog is the one that just stole my heart forever I just wanna thank everyone there for your great care and love for halo! Really means a lot! Recommend to everyone????

Absolutely wonderful experience. I’m trying to catch and spay some feral cats in my neighborhood. Jamie was more then helpful! She had great advice for catching them, very caring demeanor and I could tell the staff truly cares for the animals. I’ll definitely be back, they’re so nice!!

They really care about your pet.

I'm not going to go into my experience; but I will tell you, that after I had my experience with them; and started complaining; I was told all kinds of scary stories about this place! And Still herring them still today!!! Let me tell you this though. About a year and a half after I lost my little dog, I went in t tell them about my experience with their vet. In the hole overall thing; I was interrupted to be told a huge whopping lie! This actually caused me to become very emotional, to which I did warn their, way before I ever came close to being able to talk to them about my experience. Over all. This experience was one of the most traumatic experiences in my life! After asking 3 times if he was going to dye. Infact the vet smarted off with the comment; it's not like he's gonna dye! Called me on the phone and spoke to my sister, apologizing for not being able to call, saying she'd been in meetings all day; and would call as soon as she could! She never did! Turns out. The blood work she did and said she would pay for, out of her own pocket; was never shown to have happened! And a month later, while still trying to figure out what killed my little dog; I asked the father to please let me know what killed my little boy, and I was given the answer! The test she said we didn't need; turned out to be, exactly the one that was needed; and I was witness to my little dog; bucking and kicking, trying to come back to me; 3 times! I kept this short, leaving out a lot of details, to be able to get this out there. This time to when I actually went in to talk to them. The lady that said she was the owner; actually had the nerve to tell me that she told me when I first came in, that he was going to dye... How cold and catalyst, and so totally untrue! I will NEVER Be Desperate enough to ever take any of my animals here again!

They are great too deal with. All our pets go there.

The staff at Care Animal Hospital has been taking care of my French Bulldog since I received him as a gift almost 3 years ago from my son and daughter-in-law. I could not be happier with the care and compassion by the entire staff. I was very careful about which Animal Hospital I chose for my CJ. I did a lot of research to find the right fit, given he is a Frenchie and Frenchies can have health issues. I can honestly say all of my research paid off! CJ loves his trips to see his friends at Care...including the groomer Stacy. Without question, I would not hesitate to recommend Care Animal Hospital for all of your pet's needs. It would be difficult to improve on perfection! ❤️
