Got assistance fairly quickly and got information about adoptable pets from the notes of volunteers and handlers. Peaceful environment and great areas to acclimate with a dog or cat

Just adopted our new family member a pitbull mix and she is just the happiest dog ever she loves giving kisses and is smiling and wagging her tail all the time. We originally did not go there to get a Pitbull we had other intentions to get a different dog. She just happened to be out for a walk and she just sat down and rolled over and wanted belly rubs and that's when she started giving kisses and that was it I had to have her. She loves to be everywhere that you are

We adopted Dove a little over a year ago. They brought her from Pinole, spayed, gave shots. We had to bring her in for treatment of neausea and vomiting and ear sensitivity for which they treated her at no cost to us.

It takes longer than it should to get through the adoption process but still giving 5 stars because the staff and volunteers are so friendly and caring.

Don't bring your ferals here unless they're about to die cuz they won't take healthy ones.they also claim that fix our ferals doesn't exist anymore when in fact it does they just aren't working with them. It used to be you could bring farels in to get fixed and potentially adopted, otherwise you would have to release them where you found them. (Thus reducing the number of farels cause they wouldnt make more) but apparently like I stated earlier they will not take healthy farels, which are more likely to have larger litters. I guess we will just have to let them suffer until cccacs will lend a hand. In the meantime thanks for the help on a farels population boom, your the best!

So many good things to say about this place. I got my dog from here 2 years ago and they made the process easy. They can get backed up, like any business but they are willing to help. They have volunteers they help you find the perfect new pet as well!

My cat run away and couldn’t find him for almost two years. One day I received a call from them stating they found him roaming the streets and that he was in bad shape, there was no other option than to put him down :( after all the denial and crying I asked if i owe them any money and they said “don’t worry about it” i went out of the country and just found out (after two years) that they sent me to collections. They claim they called but I never received any voicemails. They also said they sent different bills but no one updated my address when I was there saying bye to my cat. I wish someone would’ve told me how much I had to pay when I was there. They said they wanted to avoid me the stress but now I’m even more stressed since the bill went up to $1000 and now it shows in my credit. Train your employees better when it comes to billing!

I am an Animal lover and foster kittens for them. Trying to save lives of pets. You receive unconditional love from the animals. Donate, foster and adopt. Spay and neuter your pets!

No pressure to adopt, just friendly volunteers who had no incentive to help besides enjoying animals. I did take a cat home, but that has nothing to do with how I was received by the staff( paid and volunteer) Robin, sandy, and Jessica. All of them were awesome and the front desk helper with the gauges all made me feel welcomed and I was able to make new friends and take one home. Very happy very satisfied with the shelter

Thank you to CCASD, I had to surrender my pet and they did not judge me for it. Other shelters/re-homing places totally judged me for my decision, which was a heartbreaking decision. I sincerely appreciate their professionalism as well as their compassion for my situation.

I have been trying to adopt a dog from here for over a month. They didn't want to adopt him out because of "behavioral issues ", so they told me to contact a rescue to transfer him into their care, I did. After a handful of visits I'm finally allowed to meet the dog outside of the kennel and he is wonderful. I'm told that I can adopt him on my own if I sign a waiver, I come back another time and I cant see him cz hes sick but am told he really needs out of the shelter environment. I go back a few days after that ready to take him home and they say "no, hes being transferred ", the manager refuses to speak to me! She didn't even want to tell me where hes being transferred to and is just rude! This shelter does treat you/look at you like you are a child just wasting your time! I am almost 30 with a husband, house and career and yet I'm wasting HER time by trying to save a dog from rotting away in HER shelter! I am heartbroken but still trying to bring him (the dog) home. The volunteers are very kind though, but not super helpful because they aren't really allowed to be
