I just called today on a Friday at 3:00pm with the receptionist Esther or ether? I wanted to schedule an appointment for my bird and she was in a super bad stressed out mood and very reluctant breathing angrily heavily when answering me you know when they are super stressed out. She said I’ll put you in a brief hold and she kept me on hold for like 20 minutes I even screenshot it cause come on no matter how much you hate your job they are paying you and you are not indispensable. I had to hung up cause she absolutely forgot about me. I call back and explain her that she gave me a brief hold of 20 minutes. She immediately said sorry and gave me an appointment... there’s people who can do a better job.

my friend went there for emergency, ended up waited for 7 hours, and they placed emergency appointment to urgent care, if the waiting time make sense to you, the misinformation about their overpriced visit is unbelievable. unless you have nowhere else to go, i will never seeking any treatment for my pets here and not recommend this place.

Pro exotic animal help. The main place people go in LA as far as I can tell. Helpful

We took our parrot ????. We were given options for his care. We were very pleased with his care. Covid-19 protocol was thoroughly followed. We were also presented with the itemized options with pricing so we could make an educated and financially secure decisions as well.

Today I took in my Blanquita, a 3 y/o hen recently diagnosed with lead poisoning, for crop stasis. She was found to have pneumonia and egg yolk peritonitis. She was very critically ill and died in the clinic. However, I cannot say enough about Dr. Sophie Rushing. She displayed enormous compassion, clinical skills, and humbleness.

Took my hamster here a while ago and the staff was incredibly knowledgeable, sweet, and reassuring. They had to sedate him to check his cheek pouches and he came out just fine! Love this place!!

Very nice place. Staff was professional and genuinely seemed concerned about my baby. Doctor Wills was extremely knowledgeable about birds and I felt very comfortable discussing my concerns with her. She gave me several treatment options and her opinion on where to start. Great place♥️

They took very good care of my Greenwing Macaw rescue bird who had trouble breathing. Found a way to give her her medication. Showers are Leahs Zen Zone.

They made my bearded dragon get lethargic and when I tried calling with my phone number they kept hanging up on me until I called with a different number! Pls do not bring your pets here!

Called to put my hen down because my vet was not available. This place quoted me $175 plus $90 which is highway robbery... I’ve NEVER in my chicken owning have ever paid that much money to put a chicken down and I don’t care how good they are, they obviously don’t care about the animals- it’s just about how much money they can put in their pockets. Grr....

I debated writing this and made sure to wait a long time to make sure my emotions didn't come through too much. My bird Kevin died alone in their care while a vet tech did a routine blood draw. We weren't allowed to be there due to Covid, which is reasonable. I get that animals can die during procedures and it is not necessarily the fault of the vet. But everything else about the situation and the follow-up made me decide to never take my other birds there again. I don't think you should either. In the aftermath the vet called and told us what happened even though she wasn't in the room (why not?). In a later conversation the vet said that they would normally sedate that species of bird before a blood draw but for some inexplicable reason they did not do so for Kevin. When we went to pick up his body a receptionist came out with Kevin in a box and didn't even say a word. If that had been my last interaction with this clinic I would have probably accepted that it was a fluke and that, while things could have been handled better, it was what it was. But recently another one of our birds needed a check up for something and we decided to give them another shot. When I made the appointment I explained what happened to Kevin to the person taking my call and emphatically requested I be able to speak to the vet before I drop another bird off in their care. I just wanted to go over what they would be doing to put my mind at ease and try to avoid a repeat of what happened before. She said that she would ask the vet to call before the appointment that we made. The vet never called. I seriously can't understand what would be so hard for a vet to give us a call based on our prior experience just to walk us through what to expect if we brought another bird in. I'm not really sure they care much about birds at all. 100% of their newsletters are focused on bunnies and every time I ask if they have an avian vet they just say something like "our vets can work with birds." I won't be going there again.

Today was the first time taking my Bunbun to the vet and I am so very happy with choosing Exotic Animal Vet Center. All the staff is very friendly. No doubt about it they know their work and their experience with rabbits is noticeable. Very nice. Made sure I was well informed during the visit and they even gave me a coming home bag with goodies and lots of info! I will be coming back soon for my next appointment there for sure! I like a little far but the drive is very well worth it. Thank you for everything.

Best Chinchilla vet I’ve ever been to, Dr. Kanfer is AMAZING. The whole staff is so kind. This is the best place you could ever take your chinchilla! I live in San Diego and it is worth every mile to drive to this clinic. They are so communicative and willing to answer any questions. Leaving your pet at a vet is always nerve wracking, and they make it as easy as any one could!

I'm constantly calling this place because I'm a paranoid parent of two cockatiels. They always respond and do a good job of explaining things over the phone. They are busy, so schedule your pet's appointment well in advance unless it is an emergency.

Phenomenal experience ! At first I was a little annoyed by the fact that I had to drive almost 45 minutes to Pasadena for the sake of a teeny tiny leopard gecko. LOL. But I’m glad I did. I am a little OCD when it comes to information and details and typically have lots of questions. They were SUPER DUPER patient, answered every single one of my questions, and extremely thorough and informative, more so than I could ever have imagined. Beyond grateful!

I was very pleased with the doctor and some of the technicians. At the end of the visit a young lady brought me my pet in a cardboard box, with a few holes and it was taped up. She said it was required that I bring my pet in a carrier, it wasn’t what she said but how she said it. Not every veterinary has the same policies and rules therefore, I think it is imperative that those things are mentioned when booking a first time appointment. Instead of mentioning the carrier policy, they were interested in taking payment. Other than that incident, I loved the communication with the doctor and other staff.
