Dexter the foxhound had heartworms, now he doesn’t. It was a first time ordeal for all involved. It was a long process, but all was well explained and scheduled. Dexter was always happy to go to his appointments even when they called for painful shots. Communication was excellent. His vet was available for the odd off hours phone call. The biggest praise is that Dexter is now worm free and living the good life again.

I just called in to get my pet seen for a tumor she has. They refused to do a biopsy because they said they needed to aspirate it first. Which didn't make sense to me because she had two tumors removed two months prior and they did a biopsy and didn't aspirate it. After the biopsy then we moved forward with the removals. The person answering the phone was rude and wouldn't listen.

Everything was handled very well, and we especially appreciated the phone call follow up a couple of days after our visit.

The whole experience was great. We were able to get a new patient visit immediately. The staff were super nice and helpful. We did a fecal test in the evening and got a call the next morning with the result. Overall no complaints from us!

They fit us in quickly to get a last minute travel certificate - our regular vet is booked out too far for our trip. They were super nice, thorough and went beyond by making sure I knew that I should look into dental work for my bad-teeth rescue.

Quicker service than the other places I tried for a pet emergency.

Terrible service. I called to ask a simple question about appointments and the lady who picked up the phone gave me attitude and was extremely rude to me. I would never take my dog here.

Yesterday I took my cat to SAGE Vet for emergency care because of a urinary blockage. mThey gave me a Px for special urinary care cat that he needs to eat for the rest of his life. I called Midtown Vet to see if they had the food so I could buy it for my kitty. The receptionist I spoke with was not friendly, even a bit rude, and she told me they would not sell me any food until they saw my cat first. I just spent a ton at SAGE Emergency Vet yesterday and left with a Px from them, which they told me any Vet can fill, provided they have the food in stock. So I called 3 other veterinary offices and all of them will fulfill my cats Px, but only one of them has the food in stock. Thank goodness I can feed my kitty the food he needs today. I will never give my business to Midtown Vet and I warn others to be wary of a place that seems to not care at all about the welfare of a pet but rather making maximum money off you and your pet.

Refused to give my dog a recheck appointment after he had a bad reaction to medication they prescribed a week earlier. The manager literally drew an analogy to walmart - "if you had side effects from a medicine you bought from walmart, would you call walmart and ask for your money back". They said they only provide a recheck on "services they performed" and said that they only "dispensed" the medicine which they don't consider performing a service... Note that I literally have a prescription from their vet with a recommended dosage etc.. I'm not an expert but pretty sure most medical offices would consider prescribing medicine an example of "performing a service." Generally whenever I've interacted with Midtown -- they are always extremely busy, their staff makes mistakes like forgetting your pet's name, not capturing full records etc.. but I've looked past these things because their location is very convenient for me. It got way worse this time, to the point that I want to strongly recommend other pet owners do their business elsewhere. It's never pleasant having a debate like this over the phone, but my tone was measured and I was really just trying to make them see my perspective. I didn't make statements directed at the individuals I spoke with, or speak in an accusatory way; I went to pains to state that I was trying to get what I believed was a fair outcome from Midtown as a business. Unfortunately, both the vet tech and the manager I spoke to seemed to equate "not agreeing with them" to "being rude". Every time I tried to make a point on my/my pet's behalf, their responses would become more heated, accusing me of being rude, being difficult, entitled, hanging up on me at one point etc. It was a bit ridiculous to keep trying to bring the conversation back to a reasonable, measured debate, and having the person on the other end continuously getting upset, but then accusing me of being rude. Super unprofessional and frustrating.

I love Dr. Hila! I will definitely refer her to my family and friends. She is the only vet that I have experienced will call in the early morning to follow up on KiKi's condition. She is very detail and careful, she is a great doctor. Also, overall I I think their price is a bit higher than any vet that I have been to, but as long as they can take care my babies I am willing to pay for a bit more. What I DO NOT like about this PLACE is the wait time. It usually takes a good 5 - 6 hours from dropping off my pet till the time I picked them up, sometime even longer. I think it is very stressful for animal (my cats) to stay in a confined space with both cats and dogs together, it is going to make them very nervous, and let alone they might be hungry without food or water the whole time they were there at vet This is the only concern I have, and already thinking if I will need to take my Cats else where, because they get nervous very easily, always! I really don't want to add on any additional stress if I don't have to. Hopefully, they can make some adjustments of their practice and somehow can shorten the time they kept with them at the cage.

At Midtown veterinary clinic, you are sure to get, most importantly, a response! The phone is picked up, unless you call on Monday, which is their day to stay closed. A small setup, Midtown staff are friendly, supportive and reassuring. We have taken our dog there for routine care( vaccination), as well as emergencies ( a broken bone in the foot), and have felt supported as the staff step up. Even when they did not have the infrastructure to set a broken bone, they splinted the limb, gave the pain killers, and called the appropriate hospital after checking with me, to fix an appointment with the specialist. This is real care. All the way. Although History is always asked carefully, carrying recent records really helps. Questions are answered promptly. And you are called as the doctor examines your pet and decides on the course of action. We really appreciate that, because it keeps us in the loop, and at every step you are told the charges, and are able to take a call on whether or not you want to go ahead. It matters- because it does get expensive! Every step carries a charge- a look over, a test, a prescription.. We have encountered rude and uncaring staff at another setup, made worse because it was an emergency and we are ourselves far from discourteous or pushy- so it meant a lot to have staff that walked the talk and showed their care. The bill at Midtown is the one thing that pinches, because it tends to be higher than anything we get at Sage, which is a big hospital setup. But then getting an appointment there takes time, so Midtown is the best short term option I would think! The last one? They call back the next day, to check on how their patient is progressing! So barring the big bills, I place my trust in Midtown Veterinary Clinic.

We've had nothing but good experiences at Midtown since we started taking our 4 month old puppy there 3 months' ago. They treated him for Giardia and took care of his vaccinations, etc. Very friendly and professional. I have come to trust their services for our new puppy.

When my cat was sick at 5:30 on a Friday, this was the only place that would see him right away. They put him on a fluid IV, figured out what was wrong, and found a 24-hour animal hospital that could treat him after they closed.

Many veterinarians prioritize selling tests, services and medicines over taking care of animals and their owners. I really appreciated the vet this weekend laying out the options while honestly discussing why some options would be a waste of money. Rare find in my experience and I wanted to reward it with a positive review.

We are very happy to have Midtown Veterinary Hospital as part of our community, knowing that they are always there all day and late nights in case there are emergencies. Dr. Arman is very caring of the animals, and always spends the time to explain the situation and options patiently. The nurses and technicians are super helpful and professional. I can trust them to take well care of our dog. Thank you so much!

Out of town from San Diego visiting when my 10 year old lab developed an ear infection. I was hesitant after reading the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised by Dr Camille Virtucio and her staff. I can see why reviews characterized the staff as young, but they were very nice and professional. As a pet owner on top of my pet’s care, I found Dr Virtucio very reasonable and committed to her practice. They do present you before a diagnosis, a pricey treatment plan but only you know your pet so you elect what treatment is good for them. I felt very fortunate to have located Dr Virtucio 500 miles away from home. Her treatment plan was to clean the ear and to start topical therapy. She was very pleasant and I really appreciated how she explained everything. I will definitely go again to her.

Dr. Hila is a fabulous vet who unfortunately has a terrible office staff who neither have the competency, professionalism or maturity to be trusted with having anything to do with your pet. As good as the doctor is, so many mistakes , lack of integrity, bumbling and miscommunications from the vet techs and staff make it a dangerous and unsafe place to take your pet.

My cat was limping and I couldn't get in to see my regular vet. Midtown was open Sat and Sun until 10pm! I called them and got an appointment same day. I was a relief to get a diagnosis, and they worked with my regular vet to get the x-rays and records to them. Everyone was very patient and took great care of my kitty. A Lifesaver!

Terrible place. If you want to let your pet live, you don’t wanna come here. They will charge you $1000 bucks for wrong medical tests and won’t give it you after it’s done. They will give vague updates, too generic to diagnose anything. I am not wondering whether they even have any veterinarian there. AVOID at all cost. We almost lost our Kitten taking her here.
