My dogs were there for boot camp originally. They were trained by Perry and he did a great job. My concerns were they were exhausted and had lost several pounds. I understood the exhaustion. They worked with them diligently to get them where they needed to be in the time we agreed on. We were informed on a regular basis of their progress and health. At the end of June they were boarded a week with follow up training. No follow up info was given like before and they lost the weight they had gained. We picked up our dogs and one was sluggish and "coughing". We took him to the vet, he had kennel cough, beginnings of pneumonia, and fecal toxemia. My vet said it was due to the kennel not thoroughly being cleaned. After speaking to Nikki, the manager, she told me they would do a thorough cleaning and they had checked the dog several times a day...but I don't believe this was the case this time. I appreciate the hard work in training my dogs and keeping them for a month, but I won't be using their services again. I've spent close to $500 and 3 wks caring for a very sick dog because of their facility not being properly maintained.

I absolutely do not recommend this facility to anyone for boarding. I have to say they did a great job of convincing me that boarding my baby there was a good idea but that was not the case at all. I've boarded him elsewhere before with absolutely no issues. Everything leading up to his stay went fine. I visited the facility a couple times, had all my questions answered, got a tour of the facility showing me the nice long indoor/outdoor kennel he would be in, and I even brought him in the day before we left for daycare so he could get to know them and vice versa. Everything seemed great and I felt confident in trusting them with my baby, I thought it was going to go so well. However, my experience at Pacific Pet Resort was so much the opposite that my friend had to pick my dog up TWO DAYS EARLY because of how bad it was. We dropped him off on Friday morning and gave them his food and they assured me everything would be great. I called later that day to check up and was told everything was going fine, and called again the next day in the morning and again was told everything was fine. A few hours later I get a call from one of the managers saying my dog is showing food aggression and they think it's best he be taken home. It isn't until now that they tell me he hasn't eaten either of the meals they fed him, he just tried to hide it and then showed some aggression when they took it away and is now not letting any of them handle him at all. At this point I'm so confused and worried about my baby because he has NEVER acted this way before. But I didn't think too much of it at this point because they were so nice on the phone I believed they were genuinely concerned for the well-being of my dog and not their own convenience. Regardless I'm so upset because I could only imagine how scared and insecure he had to feel to act this way, and I felt helpless as I was out of state and couldn't get back to him. They insisted that it would be best for him to go home so I had my friend pick him up. My friend told me she did not trust the way they treat the animals in their care. The kennel attendant that took her back was thanking her over and over again for coming to take him away, didn't say a single positive thing about by dog except the fact that he was leaving, and she could hear workers in the background telling the dogs to shut up because they were barking. Then, when they got to my dogs kennel she said it was WAY smaller than the ones they showed me. Then she said my baby was shaking so bad and so visibly stressed out that she knew something wasn't right, she said she'd never seen a German Shepherd shake like that. THEN (and this is the part that made my blood boil) she said the second the guy put his hand on the latch my poor baby PEED himself because he was so scared. My dog has NEVER EVER done that before so I knew right then that something really was wrong. After seeing that she demanded that he let her in the kennel and he questioned her like he was concerned my dog would attack her or something even though Duke recognized her by now was was jumping up on the gate and licking at it because he wanted to see her. She just grabbed the latch and opened in and she said he immediately was so happy she was there. Then they gave her a slip leash, which they were informed to use with caution because he HATES those, and she even brought up that I told them that and the guy just said "I don't know, maybe" well excuse me but isn't it your job to know that?! And on top of that they wouldn't have given his collar, leash, and harness back if she hadn't asked about it. When she asked the guy said "oh do you want those?" OF COURSE. Why would she not? And they didn't give any of the three days worth of food back, claiming there wasn't any left even though he'd only need there one day and hadn't eaten anything as I was told. Overall I was not pleased with my experience at all. The office staff is very nice but the staff that handles the animals directly seems incompetent and inexperienced and I will never be going back.

We sent our rescue dog for some boarding training to get him used to being in a crate with less stress, they were great with him and he also learned some great new skills for going out to restaurants with us. Highly recommended.

The facility and staff were great. My only hesitation to taking my pup back is the sad reality of the resorts neighbors, the humane society. The whimpers, barking and crying that came from nextdoor made my pops anxiety rise a bit. We will try it once more in the near future as his anxiety could have been from being at daycare for the first time.

I absolutely love Pacific Pet Resort and Specialty Dog Training.... everyone there is wonderful with our babies, and I have some difficult dogs. They are patient and understanding. I left my border collie heeler mix with them for boot camp training and everything was awesome. My Corgi loves to stay and they give him so much attention. This is the only place I trust with my babies for boarding and training.

We have been boarding our dogs here recently and I feel very comfortable leaving my fur babies while we're away. The staff is really informative, professional, and really care for the well being of pets.

Our bullmastiff was at another place but for some reason it just didn't work out and thank goodness I found this place. Immediately took our dog here and she loves it. They take all breeds and they understand big dogs, they train them and love on them and when my dog gets home she is exhausted and she loves that place as well, staff is wonderful and they make you feel like your family and treat your dog like they're their own!!! So grateful to all the staff at Pacific Pet Resort!!!! Annie loves this place!!!!!!

Fantatic. I boarded my female Labrador for one week to receive personal attention for basic obedience training. She came out a new dog (in a positive way). We'very begin going back for some fine tuning in preparation for the CGC. 7 months old and she'll be tested for the CGC. Boarding was excellent, training was and has been excellent.

I've had (Manu) my Pit/Mastiff here since he was about 4 months he turned 2yrs on Nov 1st (today) and these guys run this place with very high standards by the way they handle the dogs to how clean they keep this place inside and out! They have the utmost professionalism I've seen which means a lot to me as a retired Marine. I can always see the love they have for not just my dog but every dog/cat that comes through here! Larry and the rest of the staff do a superb job on a daily basis! Highly recommend!!!!

They support the ignorance that is automatic breed restrictions, although they don't seem to advertise that on the website anywhere. I had thought that a pet friendly place would know that the breed isn't an automatic indicator of aggression. My pit has never shown any aggression toward any person or animal but they aren't even willing to give him a behavior test before immediately assuming that he would fight every other dog at daycare. Even if you don't have a "dangerous breed" please look for and support a better daycare.

My dogs love it there and they're well taken care of; I have tremendous peace of mind when we leave our boxers at OPH.

I have taken my dog here in the past and we needed to drop him off for the day. I had my wife call in ahead of time. They said that we just needed an updated shot record for our boy. No problem. She emailed it to them. They also had record of him being there when she called cause he has been there previously quite a bit. When I get there, immediately the girl who was working there had what I would call an attitude. She asked for his updated records which I knew they probably would need so I had it ready on my phone email because they probably hadn't checked their email, and no offense but the girl working the front looked like she wouldn't know what a power button would look like, much less be able to work an email inbox. After giving over my phone, showing her the slip that showed the updated shots, she proceeds to tell me that she can't find a record of him ever being here, also that they have a new policy about breeds and she wouldn't be able to let my dog play in a group. My dog can have been left at home alone. That's not the point of dog day care. My dog is a 40 lbs terrier mix, the friendliest animal that I have ever owned. Loves people almost as much as he loves ALL dogs and babies. I would NOT recommend you taking your animal here.
