BEWARE! This vet hospital practices extreme UNETHICAL and ILLEGAL practices! DO NOT TRUST THEM! My dog was given to another person and I was told I couldn't have my dog after it being located by AVID Chip tracker to be at their location! I had my ID and was identified as the owner of my 18 YEAR OLD dog. They would not give my family our dog after he had been taken just hours before from our home, all caught on RING cameras! They said that the "owners" that brought him in authorized labs, chipping and imaging.That I could take the dog if i wanted to pay them what these people ordered....are you SERIOUS!!! ! I have filed a case with the CA Veterinary Medical Board whom oversees their license. I will also be posting the complete details to my entire HOA and local business reviews with my extremely large and local congregation this weekend! All with camera footage and facts of this horrific incident and blackmailing from this vet practice. They should be put out of business!

Hard to get the appointment and lack of groomer

My experience was good except the check-in process failed. I did the required telephone check-in with the front desk; however, they failed to notify the labs and vet that I arrived. Thus, I sat twenty-five minutes in a hot car with my dog and myself.

We had adopted a dog two months ago. He recently started scratching ear and we noticed that it was inflamed. We called our regular vet but they were booked solid for several weeks. I was able to get a same day appointment. The staff was kind, knowledgeable and caring. The vet was very thorough, and also kind. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost for the visit. It was reasonable and included our dog's medication. It was a great experience.

They were able to see us as a walk-in and I couldn’t be more thankful. In the morning our dog was attacked by another dog in our apartment complex, and although there was no serious medical emergency required, we still wanted to take our pup in as soon as possible to make sure nothing else was wrong. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the vet that saw our pup was very informative to us and assured us our dog would be okay. It was definitely a very stressful day but this pet hospital helped put us at ease and reduced our worries. We just recently moved to this area so I believe this will be our new vet for regular checkups. They are also affordable and not too expensive. Would definitely recommend.

Annie is the best she is always very helpful and and very friendly.

I've had many cats within my 32 years of life. Some have come and gone. I have brought all most all of them here and any time I havent was due to emergencies or laziness on my end and I've regretted every time. This place has always given affordable prices, treated my and my little ones with dignity and respect. With kindness and compassion and have made us feel important. They are never to busy to see us which realy counts. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. I've been coming here since I received my 1st cat at the age of 14 years. I'm sorry its taken me this long to give them the credit due. Thank you all

Great place to bring your loved pet. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Catherine (Cat) was especially helpful! Would definitely tell family and friends to bring their animals to this office.

They took such great care of my Lilo Bear...even when it was time to say goodbye. They made a terrible experience tolerable! They really care and it shows

Prompt and caring care given to our newest kitten , Hennessy ! They were responsive to our every concern and it was appreciated. Looking forward in the near future as we adopt another kitten, too. Wonderful place to rely on for caring care.

They're all very caring people, from the front office staff to the Drs. I always know my pets are in good hands.

Bad, receptionist wouldn't see my dog had bloody paw 15 minutes before closing

I had to do the worst thing imaginable today by helping my dog over the rainbow bridge. This office made it so less painful. The staff was so caring and compassionate and the doctor was gentle and kind. His passing was beautiful and it was all because of the love that was showered upon us.

The staff is caring and Denise is excellent. She always takes the time to answer my questions and always calls back.

Staff is great and they follow up with you days after to make sure your pet is doing better

Dr. Janet Myerhoff is one of the best veterinary diagnosticians that I've encountered. She goes the distance for her patients and even incorporates natural supplements. I have been bringing my pets to Porter for over 20 years. Annie is a gem! They truly love animals and care about the well being of their patients. They are good people and good pet health care providers.

They constantly make you come in for multiple test and are so vague when another problem comes up and wants you to pay more to examine it further. I took my dog to another vet and did everything in one trip and with a better price of almost half I usually pay here.

The whole staff has changed. I’m having trust issues with the current staff now. The old staff at least knew me and my pets. I’m really missing the old staff and the old vets who used to work there. Sadly, the good ones have left.

Best Doctor ever best staff of all time best care for pets hands down

Everyone at the vet is great! Very personable and friendly. I did not like that other services were added to my bill prior to discussing the charges. A micro chip charge was added to my bill, and when I advised I didn't ask for my pet to be mirco chipped they took the service off. When the young man came to bring me my bill, he advised that they had already Micro-Chipped my dog!!! I didn't bring my pet in for that service. He was sick, so why would you add additional services that are not related to the visit? They ended up removing the charge, but that's beside the point. I don't like these type of back door practices, especially in the currently climate where I was unable to go into the office with my pet. Before performing services, you should ask the pet owner!!

This is COVID time. Despite the not being able to have a face to face consult with the Dr., I felt that her communication with me concerning my two dogs was thorough and complete. I left understanding what I needed to do to take care of them. I feel that the veterinary service was excellent.

Awesome staff. Very helpful and friendly. Truly care for the animals in their care.

It was just my good luck that the German Shepherd that I adopted from the local animal shelter 15 years ago was automatically assigned to Porter Veterinary Center for neutering before I could take him home. Since they had his records, I kept taking him back. Eventually, I took the next two dogs I adopted there, as well as my cats because their just wonderful with animals. Even when it was time to put down two of them, the staff was so attentive and compassionate. I'll continue to take my pet to Porter Veterinary Center for the foreseeable future!

The only reason I am giving it 5 Stars is Dr. Mayerhoff! Since the Hospital changed ownership we stayed away as the service suffered dramatically and the prices are more than other places. Dr. Mayerhoff is very knowledgeable and my dogs love her. That is the only reason we are back.
