I found the owner extremely friendly. Sometimes its hard for people to keep a cheerful attitude when they are dealing with many phone calls each day in regards to taking in so many animals. Its heartbreaking how many dogs are in need of homes.

Very rude. Unprofessional. Not even registered with the IRS as a 501c3 but claim to be, so that has been reported.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The lady on the phone was very rude. When I called she asked to give the phone to my parents assuming I was a child but I’m 18, I just sound young. My dad explained the situation and asked if they can take in our cat who we can’t take care of anymore. She assumed we don’t want him anymore because we have a kitten now which is not the case and started saying he’s setting a bad example for me. lady, I’m not a child first of all and who are you to even say that? We asked if you take in adult cats we didn’t ask for parental lessons. Our cat has behavior issues and constantly meows indoors and outdoors and we don’t know how to make it stop. He also doesn’t get along with my kitten very well so I can’t keep him.

I contacted this rescue as a last resort and was turned away. Was told I need to support my dog instead of “dumping” her. Well if they don’t want dogs actually DUMPED on the side of the road and they wanted to help them maybe they should be more willing to accept them rather than turn people away and be rude. They didn’t even have the full story before judging and turning a dog down. So now she is at high risk. She has to be gone in 10 days. If y’all wanted to help you would. Clearly you don’t. A true rescue would take a dog regardless so they don’t end up euthanized or in danger. I understand if it was an issue with available kennels but it was not. I will be reporting this as high as I possibly can. No rescue should be allowed to run this way and treat people the way they do. Looking at other reviews I have noticed I am not the first to experience this level of rudeness.

Rude, I don’t do reviews but they really need to work on their staff attitude. Humble yourself a little… ????

This is a great facility, a great place to adopt your pet. The people here really care and have a lot of information about the animals both cats and dogs that are ready to be adopted. This is a great place to rescue an animal and give it a forever home.

I got my best friend from 2nd chances. I volunteer as much as possible because the people have hearts of gold and work twice as hard because the rescue is small. They need and deserve everyone's support.

Second Chances Rescue has placed two WONDERFUL dogs in our family! Henry is my senior mom’s best friend, adopted four years ago (black and white dog) , and Oliver (red couch), adopted last fall, has become our teenage son’s right hand man. I appreciate how thorough the application process was, and how accommodating the staff was. It is so important for pets to be placed in the home that is right for both them and the family. Thank you SCR!

Jennifer is nasty, condescending and very rude! She thinks she is the only person that can take care of dog! Watch out!

I have 2 labradors I got from here, one black nearly 4 year old and one yellow that is two. I have had a lot off fun first fostering then adopting from 2nd Chances. A great bunch of dog loving people!

I wish I asked her name but the girl I spoke to on the phone the morning of 2/16/21 while trying to rehome my dog due to unfortunate circumstances was very rude, disrespectful and insensitive. I have NEVER left any sort of review on anything and never felt the need to take my business elsewhere but there's a first for everything, I wish it didn't have to be in this case because in an already emotional situation nobody should be spoken to the I was today by this person. They definitely need to have someone a little more considerate answering phone calls. I personally will never be contacting 2nd chances resuce again.

Called on the phone to have a simple question. Told her I have a little kitten. Lady on the phone cut me off and said I don’t rescue cats. And hung up. Very rude.

I called and spoke with a lady named Jennifer to put it in a nicer way she was a straight B-I-T-C-H with a lot of attitude. With reading all the reviews a lot of people have a problem with her sad that people like that work there.

Don't even bother. I called and not only got an attitude, but lectured. I found a lost dog and was trying to find a loving place for her, a random lady came up to me begging me not to take the dog there. I think we both can agree that it was a puppy mill. Not only did the people I call not know thier own address, but Sandy also cussed me out. So no, don't take any dogs here. They won't be loved or cared for

Whoever answers the phone is so unprofessional and disgusting. I literally was so appalled with the way I was being talked to. Didn’t help me at all, kept belittling me and kept making smart remarks.

We adopted the most amazing pup and could not be more thankful for everything 2nd Chances Rescue did for us and our girl Penny! My husband & I were on the hunt for a rottweiler puppy and found our little rottie / dobie mix through the adopt a pet website which linked us up with the rescue. I called Jennifer to let her know how interested we were, filled out an application & did a mini interview over the phone. Jennifer came over to do a home inspection & we were able to meet Penny at the foster’s home (Faith you’re awesome too!) and eventually bring her back to her forever home. Jennifer & Monica were extremely communicative and easy to get in touch with to coordinate all of her shots, spay & microchip. Everything was covered by the rescue, and the adoption fee we paid ended up being tax deductible. I also really appreciate that they take the time do home inspections & conduct interviews so they can make sure the dog is going to a good home that is the right fit! I can’t stress how amazing they were to work with and how happy we were with the whole process. We love our pup so much & feel so thankful to have her in our lives. Thank you for saving Penny, and thank you for helping to rescue so many other animals. You guys are amazing!!
