My dog was literally dying in my arms. Beckwith is his regular vet. I called them and begged them to see him and they said they couldn't fit him in until January. He's been going to this vet for 5 years. They have an emergency vet there too. But clearly my dog was not a priority to them. I found a new vet the same day.

We just saw Dr O'Brien with our two chows. I was so worried because so many people are afraid of chows and I have a nervous male. Dr O'brien was so confident and my dogs did so well with him. It was like seeing an old time vet, where they are concerned with your animals and not about making a buck. I LOVED him. Do you watch Dr Pol? This is what he's like!

Best Vet in town love all the Doctors there. They care and handle all with love.

We have used them since they were Maze Animal Hospital and have had good experiences with all four of our dogs

For those of us whose dogs are literally part of the family; I really wanted to find a spot where I felt my dog would be surrounded by lots of love & folks who truly care about the wellbeing of my dog. This is that place, so happy this vet is near home.

. I used to go to the branch on maze, had a tumor for my pup removed there. Once they closed we started going to this location. Peter (my pup) had a tumor removed at this location about 3 years ago too. Successful surgery. The nurses and doctors were SO nice. I live in San Jose and have continued going to this vet throughout Peter's life, because I've had great experience. Just recently he started having seizures. So I have been taking him in for check ups. They put him on a medication, and thankfully his seizures have stopped. As I call to refill his prescription, the nurse informs me he needs blood work to make sure the medication is right, and that he is getting the right amount. We schedule the appointment, which is perfect because he is almost out of his prescription. (So I can do this all in one trip) We get to his appointment and see the nurse, the nurse asks when the last time he had the medication, which was the night prior because that was the end of what we had. So they took him and did blood work. After she brings him back she explains to me it the results might not come back clear because he didnt have his prescription today... so we might do it again in a month. I'm kind of disappointed they didnt explain this to me before they did the bloodwork...... I go to the cashier to pay, the new nurse ringing me up, gives me the medication and explains to me, Peter needs to take his medication 4-6 hours prior to the appointment so that we can have clear bloodwork results, and they will need to do the bloodwork again in a month. So after this, I'm upset, and feel used/ taken advantage of. We went through with bloodwork when it was unnecessary, when they knew the bloodwork wouldnt come back accurate. Not only did they waste our time, money, and are putting my dog through more uncomfortable experiences. I went back to complain, the nurse that did the blood work explained the vet still wanted to do the blood work and understood why I was upset, explained to me the nurse that set up the appointment should have explained this to me on the phone and that he should have aknown we were going to be out of the prescription based on Peter's file. She did explain to me she would talk to that nurse. Thankfully the doctor called me the next day. She explained Peter's levels were fine on the medication, and that he doesn't need to be tested again, thankfully. This whole miscommunication was such a huge headache. I appreciate the vet calling me and explaining the situation to me.

They took care of my dog so they're great.

Beckwith has cared for our aging dog for years. We were in denial leading up to his end. Once we decided it was time, Beckwith was quick to act on our request. They made accommodations for us the same day. They were empathic, patient and allowed us time with him before and after. Just days later I picked up his ashes, paw prints and a clip of fur for us to remember. I never bothered to ask the cost assuming it would be a lot and I didn't care. But to my surprise, it was reasonably priced. The staff is great. They love our pets and treat them with care. Our boys never showed an ounce of fear or dread when going. We plan to continue taking our little one and any future pets. Thank you Beckwith for everything.

October 2nd 8:05am Dog has bloody diarrhea and I just moved to the area. Called into Beckwith today and spoke with “Chelsea.” Unfortunately was unable to schedule an appointment until November because I’m a new client. So trying to save someone time if something urgent comes up and your dog is feeling well and you’ve haven’t been here before don’t waste your time calling.

Trust. Biggest compliment I think any vet could get. We have been taking all of our furbabies to Dr. O’Brien for YEARS! The staff and all the doctors are incredible! We had a Great Dane, Apollo, a few years ago who we lost suddenly (before getting these little crazy guys!) and I have never seen a team work so hard to save a “dogs” life. (Dog seems to not fit!) before we lost Apollo, we already had established a deep respect and trust with Dr. O’Brien, but afterwards the level of compassion and understanding during our loss was above and beyond what you would expect. Years on now, I would never trust my furbabies with ANYONE else. The whole facility is super clean! All appointments are kept, on time and always a great experience. Everyone is polite and fun! Couldn’t imagine TRUSTING my babies with anyone else.

tldr: Love Dr Mike Obrien , this is hands down the best vet office in the central valley. Where do I even begin... I have been going to Dr Mike Obrien for several years now. I have visited almost every other vet in this area and nothing even compares to the care we get at Beckwith. I used to work for a nonprofit animal shelter and then I started my own animal rescue, plus I had 6 dogs of my own. So its safe to say, I am not your avg dog owner and have been to more vet visits on a wide variety of cases, than I can count. Dr Obrien and his team, care deeply about animals and even used to run the saved spay and neuter clinic down on maze. I have been to more vets than I can count and I can only count on one hand the ones I felt genuinely cared for the welfare of all animals to the level Dr Mike does. They have an excellent office and are very reasonably priced. If you want to be price gouged and be charged for things you dont need, go elsewhere. They run an honest, reliable, ethical practice and their standards of care are excellent. I recommend all my adopters to Beckwith and anyone else who will listen. Additionally, I found Dr Obrien when I had a difficult rescue case and he diagnosed the dog spot on almost instantly when another vet in the area couldn't and recommended things we didn't need. Time and time again, no matter the case I am exceptionally impressed with the care they provide and what an excellent diagnostician Dr Obrien is. I am down to 4 dogs now and will be going to Beckwith forever. I will have a hard time moving away from the valley because I cant imagine trusting my dogs with anyone else. If you are looking to switch vets or just looking for a vet, I highly recommend Beckwith! They are the best the valley has to offer ! Take it from someone who has cared for thousands of dogs and tried a lot of vets before hitting gold.

My dog always experiences anxiety when going to the vet for any reason. A friend recommended Beckwith Veterinary Hospital to me and I am so glad that I brought my dog there. My dog loves being walked around the grounds of the hospital when we arrive; it really calms her down. Every staff member I have met has been nothing but kind and genuinely concerned about doing what’s best for my dog. Beckwith Hospital is beautiful and clean and the doctors are knowledgeable and caring. The cost for their services is fair.

I have gone to Mike for many years. I would never trust anyone else to treat my dogs. He is an amazing person as well as the best Vet Modesto has to offer.

I wouldn’t trust any other place. All the doctors are amazing. One time they ran behind but only 30 minutes and Dr O’Brien said he wouldn’t charge me for the visit. Very clean on the inside. Walked me through each step and spoke to me using medical terminology then explained what each word meant. My dog loves them and they are very trustworthy. Even following up with me when there’s been a few weeks and they didn’t need to, just to make sure everything is going ok. They recommend medicine and offer other places to get the medicine if they’re too expensive. I will never take my dog any where else.

We love love Dr mike and Chad we're like 30 yr customers they have kept our animals in tip top shape And they care not an act, they take the time to explain all you need to know .

There are knowledgeable, caring and compassionate people that work here. My pet received top notch care, all the options were explained to me and the Dr. and I were able to make a tough but necessary decision. Treated my pet with great care and love, and were incredibly caring and professional. I can't thank them enough.

This still stands 3 years later now. This is my first review. we took our pet to Beckwith Veterinary Hospital and this is our third time now. I feel that I need to write this review because in my 64 years, I have not seen such professionalism, quality service, and friendly personnel. They are professional, there on top of things, but most of all the Doctor listens and he ask us to come look in her ear with the scope and explained everything that we saw. Dr Mike O’Brien was courteous, he sat down with the dog first at eye level and got a know Misty before starting anything. When I ask him to fill out a bunch of insurance paperwork, he was absolutely fine with that. I have to say that if you are going to take your animal anywhere, take it here. When I went to pay the bill it was reasonable all three times. It is such a beautiful brand new high Tech facility. I recommend them wholeheartedly and I wouldn't take my pet anywhere else and I have tried almost every Vet in town. Sincerely Mike, Sandy and Misty Simpson

They have been our veterinarian's for about 20 years. We wouldn't trust our precious pets to anyone else. They have saved the lives of 2 of our "dogs" (babies). The diligence and effort they put in while doing so was nothing short of heroic. Their staff are so kind and helpful, we don't have one bad thing to say about any of them. Considering their staff size, that's saying a lot! Heck, I've been in places that don't have their numbers and could honestly say that isn't the case most places. I could go on and on, but think pet owners will understand without me doing so. Thanks to all for reading this. It's all true!

Everyone here was so kind and caring when I had to have my baby girl put to sleep. I was able to pick her remains up a week later and again very kind and caring.

Beckwith Animal Hospital far exceeded my expectations. Shout out to DR. PAM she is so awesome. She told us more in one 15 minute visit then our other vet told us ever. The staff was so caring. I really expected to come out of there having payed a lot also and that is not the case. They were very fair and reasonable. I can't thank Beckwith hospital and Dr. Pam enough for the service we received. I will always recommend you guys.

We have had many vets over the years with our 2 dogs and cat. Beckwith is by far the best place and the only place we will take our animals now. We actually travel all the way from Sacramento because Dr Chad is the best. They truly care about your animals and they extremely reasonably priced. You never leave feeling broke and bamboozled. You leave feeling educated on your animals!

My Great Dane, Moose, had a torn medal collateral ligament and Dr. Chad O'Brien did the repair. Here we are 4 years later and his leg is strong and we are still walking daily and going for hikes. Dr. Chad has been our vet ever since. Your animals are in good hands with these guys.

My choice for best care. Chad O'Brien my preferance.
