Gateway Pet Grooming Mission Viejo, California

I initially came here due to reasonable pricing for cat grooming. I brought my Persian cat here a few times for bathe and cut. The first time she came home sneezing soap bubbles out of her nose the drive home and a bit after we got home. So I’m still not sure what happened there. The next time, she was cut on her leg and they cut her whiskers on one side and sneezing again. I waited another 8 months for her grooming, not sure what I was thinking, and gave them one last try. When I took her I gently let them know what happened last time with her whiskers and they spoke Spanish and argued with each other loudly and took my cat. I will never go back. She was cut again and when I went back to pick her up they ignored me and I had to request help twice before somebody yelled from behind the wall; your cat is up front behind the desk and to Venmo $85. Their customer service sucks! I don’t feel safe to leave my cat with this rude place! Beware!!

This is the only place I will take my 17 year old fur baby to! Fabi does such a good job and shes so careful with him because of his age, he doesn't look 17 when shes done with him!

I took my dog here on December 2 for the first time for grooming and when I went for pick it up I saw that a small amount of her hair had been cut and not even the hair on her arms and legs had been cut and when I asked, she said your dog would not let me to cut her hair. While I cut her hairs every 45 days and it always does great. They charged me $ 60, which is $ 10 more than other places. I will never come here again.

Great place to get dogs groomed. Make sure to call for an appointment as they are always books. I have 2 female Siberian Husky puppies Sasha and Sky and the ladies here do an amazing job. They do a great job bathing them and cutting their nails. The best is the bandanas they give the dogs after their baths.

I have been going to Gateway Pet Grooming for over 15 years now and they treat you like family.... I have met everyone and all are so sweet and caring. It’s a great feeling knowing your dogs are in great hands. The grooming is awesome!!! I started with my first puppy Lahana and out of all the places I tried this was the place she didn’t get anxiety and was happy.. my 2 little ones now Nani and Finn go and it’s there time to be pampered and indeed pampered they are, and they look great and smell great when I pick them up....I highly recommend this place and you will not be disappointed... 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for sure!!!

They are good, caring and cheap. The thing I don’t like, is how long my dogs have to stay in the cage until it their turn to get cleaned.

they did a great job with the cut my dog looked great. charged $60 10 more than my regular groomer that was closed during covid thus we thought we’d give this place a try but they cut my dogs stomach a bit and gave him an ear infection I don’t know if they got shampoo in his ear or plucked his inner ear hair but now I have to pay another $40 for his medication so we will not be returning.

Brought my pup to get her nails trimmed here for the first time a couple months back. The girls were so patient with my squirmy mutt and clipped her nails in 60 seconds flat. Was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I returned to have them done again and the girls looked her over and told me that she didn't need them done. Letting me know that she probably wasn't due since she talks a lot of walks. There was no charge. Great to know there are still honest businesses out there.

My dog has severe (I mean, SEVERE) anxiety when getting her nails trimmed. The workers here trusted me when I told them she would freak out so just do it as quick as possible to get it over with. They listened to what I said and my dog was so much better off because of it. My dog still freaked out but that is unavoidable. But because of Gateway Pet Groomers, my dog's panick lasted 30 seconds as opposed to the 5-10 minutes other places take because they don't listen to me. I will continue to bring my crazy dog to these groomers because I can trust them. Anyone with dogs who hate having their nails trimmed should come here! A++

The staff is wonderful and do a great work. My dogs are picky and especially Max. ChaCha loves to pampered. I highly recommend Gateway Groomers.

I've never seen my dogs let anybody, I mean anybody cut there nails, without a fight (no biting ????). Gateway has been able to do them twice now, the third time will be coming up soon. The prices are very reasonable and the groomers were confident and kind with my dogs. That's what truly matters !!!

I have taken my pet here for some time and been happy, but all that changed today. I usually bring my dog in for the full treatment, but today it was just for nails. someone was ahead of me to pickup, so I sit down, and then someone else comes in to pick up, and the lady at the counter takes, without even bothering to ask who was next. And of course the typical self absorbed, Mission Viejo, SUV driving, mini poodle owning mommy airhead that came in after me didn't say a single word. When she is finished they take my dog back, clip her nails and bring her out, and I give my credit card, and the receptionist, then proceeds to tell me how lucky I am that they will accept my credit card today, but in the future I will need to have cash for anything under $15, and she says it in a way that would make anyone knowledgeable about customer service cringe with horror. I then ask if this is because of the 3% credit card charge, and mention that it seems this might lose more money from inconveniencing customers than it would save, but am told she doesn't have any idea why they do it. Well of course you don't. To which I say, I try not to do anything without understanding why I am doing it, which is greeted by a blank stare. I am then presented with a small tablet which I have to sign with my finger and go through several other screens including typing out my email address just so that I can get a receipt emailed to me, and am told I will have to do this every time, not just this once. Now I'm sure they think this is some kind of technological advance, but I guarantee you it is easier for the customer to simply hand the card, get a receipt, sign and be out the door. Anyway it only takes one bad experience to lose a customer, and this left such a bad taste in my mouth that I won't be back.

This place is awesome! I have a very difficult rescued bijean freaze and he is no problem for them. I drivebfrom newport even after moving because they are sooo good!!

Just had my toy poodle groomed for first time at Gateway Pet Grooming. They did a great job and were pretty fast!
