Great, owner was nice to me, I enjoyed the horse I was riding (Rafiki) and we started a friendship, I could feel improvement every time I went and it was super fun. Although I wish we could ride the horses more, we got to have fun and chill around the horses. All the time I spent there, I was smiling. Next time I go, I hope I get to see Rafiki again.

I don't typically write bad reviews, but I couldn't sleep at night thinking that other families might waste their hard earned money on Bear Creek Stables. My daughter and her friend joined the summer camp, which costs $700. The kids were very excited by what was promised on their website, but when I came to pick them up they said: -it was "really boring!" -They pleaded me on the car ride home to not send them back to that camp the next day -they "sat around for a lot of the day doing nothing" -they "barely rode horses. It felt like 30 minutes" out of entire 6-7 hour day -the counsellors kept telling them to "whip the horses harder" to get them to move. The girls tried to ignore them, because they didn't want to hurt the horses. The counsellors said to whip them "to make them go faster" and that they were moving slow because "the horses were tired"(!!!). The girls didn't want to whip the horses anymore after that. -the counsellors took them a on "nature walk, but only took us to a creek, said nothing to us, and were on their phones the whole time. We didn't konw what we were supposed to do and just sat around again doing nothing" -the girls met two other girls, who also were saying "this camp is really boring" as they waited around sitting for another hour. After the first day, I spoke to Pam Ashford, the owner, who said she would provide a refund if my daughter would not want to come back the next day. When I confirmed my daughter was pleading me not to send her back, Pam changed her mind and said she never agreed to that! So basically we were out $700 for a really terrible horse camp. The owner has zero ethics, is dishonest, and runs a boring horse camp. Our girls have gone to other horse camps before and had an incredible time. I WISH I had read the reviews "not recommended" by Yelp at the bottom of the Bear Creek Stables page. There is one review where the parent basically says the same thing, that her kids were "sitting around" for most of the camp. Not really something worth $700. I wish I had seen that one because that would have made me contact a different camp. Just writing this to save some parents grief and their hard earned money when there are plenty of other incredible horse camps out there!

I love this trail for a quick workout, also covered by trees mostly so sun doesn't hit directly.
