We are so thankful to dtlavets for their patience with us and our dog, Chihiro. We saw Dr. Robinson and she was absolutely phenomenal and so thorough. You don’t get urgent care vets like this anymore!

I've had to bring both of my senior cats here for dental extraction surgeries and they've done a fantastic job. Everyone I've spoken to, from vets to assistants to reception, has been a gem. Despite how busy and stressful this line of business can be, especially these days, they always take the time to explain things thoroughly to me (during/after surgery check-ins, lab results, which follow-up tests are necessary and which can be optional, etc). Yes, surgeries are scheduled pretty far out, it's quite busy so I can't fault them that. That being said, when I've been concerned about the time sensitivity of anything, they have given me the option to bring the cats in during their specified emergency clinic hours. For any surgery, they've provided a low-high estimate itemized breakdown so there's no surprises with the bill. I can say I trust them with my babies and would recommend them highly. Thank you for all that you do!

DO NOT GO HERE!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. They do not care about your pet and just care about the money. The employees are not knowledgeable AT ALL and will “recommend” you to add on vaccines and unnecessary treatments for your pet. They also will give you the wrong price and up charge you when you pay your invoice. This staff is solely focused on adding on to your total and getting you to spend the most money as possible. They are unclear and rude. Especially the owner. We decided to try a new vet for our dog. We originally made an appointment for a vet exam and a blood test before putting him under anesthesia for a teeth cleaning (with the same vet). During the initial exam the doctor suggested the influenza shot. They said it would be $50 for both influenza shots, that we had to make an additional appointment for. Upon additional appointment we were told that we had to pay an additional $50. We were never told about this additional charge, and the staff was purposefully unclear about the charges. The owner then proceeded to call me, tell me I was wrong, and being extremely rude. She kept saying “it really concerns me as a business owner how you misunderstood the information” instead of apologizing for the miscommunication by her staff. She also told me that would be listening to past phone calls to ensure I wasn’t lying. She then proceeded to tell me that I should no longer bring my dog there. When we picked up Lucky, she proceeded to give me a 30 min lecture on how I was wrong and how Vets usually work. I’ve had pets for 20 years, you don’t need to tell me, you need to tell your staff to be more clear. After her 30 min therapy session of telling me I’m wrong and how the miscommunication on my end concerns her she handed us lucky’s paperwork. Overall I horrendous experience I would not trust my pets in their care after what we went through and how rude the “business owner” was. It’s not about the money at all and totally understand miscommunications happen by employees and all she had to do was be honest and apologize and be more professional. Horrible facility.

They will not let you in to use the restroom. It’s downtown so that’s a huge problem.

I highly recommend DTLAvets. The staff is incredibly nice and the doctors are experienced and knowledgeable. They follow up and make sure your pet is doing alright. In my experience they don't overcharge for medication or make you feel obligated to do extra tests. They were generous enough to take my cat in for a visit when Animal Urgent Care, who did the first treatment on my cat, told me their doctors didn't feel comfortable continuing care for my cat because her wound was in a difficult area. Mind you they didn't even ask to see my cat at that point. They made a decision just based on pictures. But DTLAvets inspected the wound and gave me all the directions that would help my cat recover. And they followed up with us for 2 weeks till she was fully recovered. My cat is happier and healthier than ever now thanks to them.

The DTLA team is very compassionate and have always taken the time to thoroughly explain every lab result, procedure, fees, future care needed, etc. I always feel confident that my senior cat is getting the best care here and having that peace of mind is so important.

The vet team is good and they always make sure to treat your pet with care. That said, their appointment system is broken and the wait to see your pet is too long, not to mention you have to wait outside in the loud street where your pets get anxious.

Despite COVID, they've taken every precaution to keep their staff & pet owners safe. And that's while maintaining the highest level of care for their patients. I must confess though that it'll be nice to get back to normal so I can see some of our favorite people and their smiley faces.

Despite being extremely busy and booked up, the office staff went out of the way to provide options and referrals to help me ensure my pup can get the help she needs, as soon as possible. The first person I spoke to was very professional. Like the “good old days” when people actually cared. Unfortunately, after doing what was advised, (waiting until the next day to call back first thing in the morning for an urgent care appointment slot), they did not schedule me a time and advised me to call back later in the day or call someone else. First time, shame on them. Second time, shame on me. I wont be wasting anymore of my time playing the waiting game. Would have been more useful for them to just say, straight up, we’re too busy, go someplace else. So now I’ve wasted an entire day while my pup’s problem continues to get worse. That was really disappointing.

Have gone to many vets before, but none as caring and diligent as DTLA. They always follow up, and service, even during Covid times is always excellent. I’ve taken my two boys (cats) here and always feel calm and collect knowing that they are being well taken care of and looked at. Highly recommend. Friendly front of staff, and the vets are the best.

Blue and Bella always have been taking care of at DTLAVets. My kitties couldn’t come to a better local vet place. Don’t hesitate give it a try if you want real answers about your beloved pets.

Highly trusted veterinarian, my Chocolate Labradoodle has been very well taken care of since nine weeks old. They are very knowledgeable, understanding and and helpful. Specially to new dog owners! Their recommendations for nutrition and preventative care. I highly recommend this hospital.

I'm grateful for DTLA Vets. Dr Flores is always helpful, explaining options, and never just recommending medications. Thoughtful care.

Very expensive, no free parking or decent instructions to new patients on where they're allowed to stop during their visit; and didn't do the thing I asked for without doing a bunch of other things that—naturally—produced no real results. Could've probably saved HUNDREDS if they would have just done the thing that our previous vet recommended we do. Minuses aside though; the staff was very friendly and informative, the work they do is obviously thorough, and the doctor is very knowledgeable and interacts directly with the patient and the pet parent. So as far as vet's offices go, I'd much prefer them to be overly thorough than careless. Careless is how things get overlooked and pets get hurt. Plus their office is nice, too.

I've taken my dog a few times for a problem he had. They didn't recommend anything unnecessary and gave me options. I'm comfortable with bringing my dog there in the future.

DTLAvets and Dr. Castañeda are head-and-shoulders above the rest! Professional, personable and most importantly, KNOWLEDGEABLE! After having gone to another mess of a vet because of what I feared was an emergency, my puppy was properly diagnosed, vaccinated and has since been under better care and supervision at DTLAvets. Every phone call/inquiry to them puts my mind at ease and my puppy on the road to recovery/good health. I know we're in good hands at DTLAvets!

Handed my pet back to me bleeding all over my clothing. Refused to give me a tissue. Verbally assaulted by staff members. One of the receptionists lied to the doctor about me and said I flipped her off. Doctor cares only about the money and nothing about how she treats her customers or their pets. Refused to give me the name of the receptionist who slandered me. Filing reports with the Better Business Bureau and Veterinary Board.

Our dog has not been eating for several days now and is throwing up. She is lethargic. We're really worried. We took her in to urgent care at DTLA yesterday and they took nearly $500 to do bloodwork and check her vitals. They never called back the next day with lab results like we were promised. Barely gave any advice on what to do aside from try to get her to eat baby food. The doctor seemed bored when I asked what else I could do. We deserve our questions answered and to know what is happening to our dog in a professional and timely manner. This is ridiculous.

Excellent vets. I trust their judgment. Unfortunately, the front desk can be slow. They have always been very deliberate, which is good, but COVID seems ground everything to a halt. Been going to them ever since the very beginning, but I think they need a second receptionist because it has become difficult to get anything from them, including taking a phone call (hold time as long as 15 mins).

I can only base this on what I experienced remotely, as his appointment isn't until May. I am changing my vet from Mohawk Alley to DTLAvets. They responded promptly and made it extremely easy to switch to them and upload documents. Everything is done online and each person I dealt with was very professional and not rude whatsoever...unlike my former place. I did a lot of research of various vet clinics and read tons of reviews before choosing DTLAvets. I only hope that by May I will be allowed inside with my dog. Dare to dream?

Worst vet ever... made an appointment at 9oclock, we sit there for 25 mins on the phone telling us our dog has to sit for over 2 hours... while at the same time the rude front desk lady is trying to up charge us without even seeing our dog. Once again this vet wants your pockets more than your genuine business. Your better off taking your dog to Mexico. Why am I paying emergency price for my dog to wait multiple hours??? THIS VET IS A JOKE.. as one of the vet techs was coming out my “Doberman” was jumping into my lap I really wonder what they do to the dogs there :(

Dr. FLORES IS THE WORLD'S BEST VETERINARIAN! My entire heart was broken when I was informed my likkle son had a heart murmur, but I was given peace after Dr. Flores took time out out of her busy schedule to educate and calm me. My son, Dready, is at home there and my heart is at peace knowing he is SO CARED for! I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND DTLA VETS!

We scheduled an emergency visit and arrived at 9am after reciving both an email and text confirming the 9am appointment which comes as a surcharge being that its an emergency visit only to be told our dog would be staying with them for hours before the Dr would be able to see him. Not much of an emgency at that point in time. This would've been our second visit with them as we were trying to establish a relationship with another vet after seeing the same vet for 4 years in San Diego, but we've decided we will continue to make the drive down to San Diego until we are able to establish a relationship with a more reliable vetinary clinic in the Los Angeles area. Please note during intake another surcharge came up for a swab which is GREAT if the Dr deemed this necessary after his exam, however they were trying to surcharge before even taking him inside and clearly hours before he would even be seen. Not to mention our dog who is a 5 yr old Doberman not timid tried to jump into my partners lap when the staff approached our bench outside. Animal instinct maybe? Very unfortunate and not reliable.

Working with my animal the best they can, but what I don't understand is you keep getting paid for each visit, & at one time my animal wasn't getting better, yet every time I bought her back not healed, we still had to pay for the same thing all over again, so if their healing plan was not successful & you need to thy something else, without even knowing close to exactly what the cause is, we have to pay more money., & she's still not completely well yet The staff & the dr.'s are alwasys very sincere, warm, & polite, & it's a great place, my animal enjoys coming to appt.'s & knows the staff,& dr.'s., my animal has been there so much until, she's familiar with everybody at the office. & they love her too.

Vets are super helpful, parking is difficult here. There are two meters in front of the office and paid parking lots around dtla.

They are great....made things simple, didn't try and sell a bunch of products. They were very informative and very nice. The only thing is having to wait outside and not see the Vet due to covid. My own Dr sees me in person. This covid thing is ridiculous everyone does something different but I guess what ever makes people feel good.
