We cannot say enough amazing things about Animal Wellness Center. We are beyond grateful for all of the help they have given us the past year with our puppy, Barkley. She has seen both Dr. Edstrom and Dr. Annie several times, and they both are so knowledgeable, honest, patient, and kind. I am a first time puppy parent with a million questions, but every staff member always takes the time to help me and answer everything. The office staff is amazing too - I have called the office on numerous occasions to ask questions and they are all so helpful, and also email me back so quickly. I know Barkley is in the best hands when she is at AWC, and that is the best feeling in the world. We actually recently moved about 40 minutes away, but we don't want to switch vet offices - AWC is so incredible that the drive is worth it to us. I cannot thank you all enough!

Well these professional are spot on. They all have multiple animals themselves and they really really care and love the animals that come and see them with a cat or dog, rabbit or a turtle. I am so thankful to have found Dr. Edstrom she really cares so much even though she’s allergic to cats she still takes care of my cat like he was a dog. Even at the last minute they will fit us in. They always tell us what they’re doing before they charge us for anything to make sure it fits in with our financial situation.

I don't usually write reviews but AWC really deserves one. My 7 month old golden puppy had been really sick for a week and my other vets were widely unhelpful in helping her feel better. So I took her to AWC where my mom takes her dog. Immediately, felt relieved mainly because of how attentive the staff is and how Dr. Annie and Dr. Kasia listened to my concerns and acted immediately. They worked really hard on treating my puppy for the current issue she had and also worked to understand any other issues she's had since a young puppy. Immediately, after thoroughly listening to me, they were able to come up with some educated thoughts and are conducting the appropriate tests. Some vets can make you feel a bit crazy for all your questions but both Dr. Annie and Dr. Kasia are the opposite, they make you feel heard and offer suggestions that truly help the cause for concern. I also want to point out that my other vets gave me my dog back (after I told them about the vomiting and diarrhea) with absolutely nothing other than she has an ear infection. Dr. Annie saw my dogs paws were red (gave me something for that), gave my dog fluids, suggested a different diet, monitored her all day, did the right tests AND called to follow up. Dr. Kasia then also helped with giving her more fluids, the right meds, and also monitored her for another day and really took the time like Dr. Annie to explain what was going on. Unbelievable difference!! My dog is already feeling better and know that once we get results back, I will trust them in helping her feeling back to normal. The staff is all very attentive, timely and more importantly, kind. I called so many times and not once did I get a bad vibe from anyone. They love animals and you can tell which really makes me trust them 100% Finally, they have great COVID protocols which makes you feel really safe, especially if you have underlying issues. I highly recommend AWC and would not pay attention to negative reviews because the positive ones are truly genuine. They are all such kind staff and they care so your pets will be in the best of hands.

So I'm not a review writer, I almost never even think to write reviews. Dr. Annie and AWC staff was wonderful with our two cats and even fit their appointment in when no other local vets could. Dr. Annie was patient, honest, and super knowledgeable. Their contactless drop off was seamless and the cats seemed relaxed and happy upon leaving. It wasn't cheap, but was worth it. They were so thorough and kind!

This place is a rip-off, been bringing my dogs here for a long time due to them being taken here by the rescue I adopted them from. But man, I had to go to an emergency vet recently with no reservation, and it was cheaper, they didn't try to upsell me on stuff, and they gave me real medications without having to specifically ask for them. Also they never seem to know my dogs history, you know little stuff, like being deaf ha.

I am so happy with the results of my dog Stella's surgery performed by Dr. Kasia!!! I would HIGHLY recommend her and Animal Wellness staff! After many years of vets not willing to remove a mass from my dog's foot Dr. Kasia took on the challenge and with flying colors achieved my dog's well being! She was kind and informative and not pushy. She was able to remove the mass and also clean my dog's teeth. Two things that needed to be done but I could not find someone to do both at the same time so my dog with not have to be put under anesthesia twice! My Stella has recovered beautifully and seems happier than ever that she not longer has to lug around that mass on her paw. Her teeth are shiny white. I am beyond pleased! Thank you Dr. Kasia for your amazing work! Thank you to your staff for being kind and patient with my fear! Kate & Stella xx

Loving and kind staff and doctors. They really care and show it. Came here for proximity to my house just three blocks away and stay because I love the care my dog and kitties receive here. I can’t recommend them highly enough. My sister is a vet and I’ve had animals my entire life so I’m very tuned in to who provides excellent care. Dr Kasha has been our most recent doctor. She is kind and skilled and thorough and patient. I am always happy to see that she is the Dr who walks in the room.

We brought two dogs here for 3 years, from the time they were puppies until recently. Prior to selecting a new Vet to care for our pets we had already noticed the quality of service slipping and general cost going up. The frequency of need for preventative testing and suggestions for other services was increasing dramatically, cost of course was lock step with this. Disclaimer, I do understand that pets come with a cost, and that as they age, they may require additional care. We always obliged and moved forward with the testing regardless of cost or our rising suspicion. Our dogs are perfectly healthy and the suggested tests always came back negative, it began to feel that they were suggesting tests in order to drive a profit rather than as a means of ensuring the health of our pets. They began to block our use of a pet pharmacy by insisting that "routine" testing be carried out prior to signing off on prescription refills. The same routine testing had already been carried out recently (<1year) and stunk of being purely an arbitrary blocker to again drive profit. It felt as if they were pushing back on our decision to purchase the meds (standard flea/heartworm prevention) elsewhere, it definitely did not have the pets' wellness in mind. The last straw came when one of our pets pulled a muscle and we wanted to bring him in since he was in pain and to make sure it wasn't something worse. I was told that there were no appointments available and that the earliest they could see me was almost a week later. That's right, they turned away regular customers whose pets had been "cared" for at this facility for their whole lives on the one occasion where we actually needed their help. There have also been countless snafus with filing dog insurance paperwork and every other clerical error one could imagine. Dr. Annie is very sweet but I think that the facility has taken on more pets under their care than is tenable. I used to recommend Animal Wellness but will now recommend you look elsewhere. My advice to the team? Return your focus to animal care and perhaps dial back client volume. Hire staff, particularly administrative roles, that help rather than hinder that mission.

I'm a young male who has two service dogs. They claim to come to a youth center called spy to provide free assistance to pet in need. After two visits with one of my dog they shunned me because they wanted more money even though they knew I was severely hurt in a car accident hence the reason spy introduced me to them. The lady that gave my dog her shots was very nice the first time and told me I could come whenever I need help because they are not in it for the money especially when someone is going through an unforseen emergency situation. I later called because my dog had swallowed some toxic stuff ended up licking what was in the mop bucket. And then the secretary Nicole I believe her name was, was very rude and transferred me to the manager saying that i have to pay put of pocket spy won't pay and they won't accept any payment plans. She said that she couldn't hear me over 10 times when my phone had full 5 bars whenever I told her that it was an emergency. After speaking with the manager yolanda or yolaine she advised me that she spoke to Safe Place For Youth and that they had said they wouldn't pay so I asked her when and she said over a month ago but I have friends who have been going to the Wellness Center during that one month she claimed. I asked her to let me know who was the person she claimed that told her they wouldn't pay and of course she couldn't answer. Anyways they are really trifling, everytime i took my dog their before they always negate the problem and minimize it to give my dog less treatment while billing for extra services when they didn't do anything besides tell me what to do at home for my dogs . And you would think the advice would be like a vet but it's basic some of it can be found from just googling it, disgusting people man it saddens me we still have greedy "humans" who care more about money then the actual life of an ill puppy, that's really sad and disgusting. Please I would advise you first-hand since I have been here and would NEVER lie on a business let alone write a review unless it was true and necessary. Please find a different vet who cares more about your dog life and the love you have for your dog then just about the money. God bless

Dr Bijlani was very sweet, an obvious animal lover. The young lady who assisted her was as well. Treated my golden, Max like their own dog. He actually allowed them to clean his ears, no small thing. I highly recommend this practice, whatever type of animal you love. Also, Max had several problems and needed three different medications. Dr Bijlani saved me money by giving me one of these in bulk. Everything they did was superb and only cost $346.00 INCLUDING labs, the three different meds, ear cleaning complete wellness exam and flea protection.

I brought my dog Snow to Dr. Annie, and she helped fix her itchy skin condition that no one else could figure out. I think Animal Wellness is a great place, and I would recommend to everyone.

I recently brought my 10 year old Chow Chow who was diagnosed with Arthritis to Dr. Annie. She has completely recharged my dog who now walks likes she did 5 years ago after 6 treatments. Dr. Annie is brilliant and uses a much wider "pallet" in which she treats her clients than a conventional vet although she is both holistic and western. Also, my Chow is very picky about who she allow near her and she loves Dr. Annie. We consider Dr. Annie to an Animal Whisper as well as their best advocate. Thank you for taking such great care of my "fur baby".

Dr. Annie is awesome! She's knowledgeable, informative and thorough. Dr. Annie spent a lot of time with me and my new puppy during our exam. I never felt rushed and I had a ton of questions that she happily answered. She truly cares & is passionate about animals and it shows. I'm thoroughly impressed and highly recommend her.

I have a genetic condition that keeps me mostly home-bound these days, but I still try to take my rescued TNR kitties to my beloved low-cost clinic in South LA, but, when somebody's got a sudden ailment and I just can't imagine making the drive out there (or Hubby's the one who is going to be taking them in) we bring them to Animal Wellness. It supports so many local cat rescues, and is a non-profit; they work to save shelter animal's lives, and they do so at their expense, I'm assuming, unless they've been granted funds through donation for the animal's care. Onto my own experiences, of which I've had three or four now, they also have fit me in when I've panicked over some sign of illness (that always turn out to be nothing, thank goodness), and they've done so without making me feel like a dumb-ass-over-worrying pet mom. Costs are less than most on the West Side, but that's still too much for someone with a lot of furry rescues to feed. If you're not a nutty rescuer like me though, you'll probably find their prices pretty good. The waiting rooms are very clean and nicely done up, and the front desk folks have been nothing but professional and kind to me. I also find it nice that the dog section and the cat section have separate entrances, simply because it's less stressful for cats to be in carriers if they don't feel threatened by dogs (not that the dogs mean to be threatening, it's just the way it goes with cats). And, while I haven't found the vet here to be the most outgoing or talkative of individuals, she does seem to be very caring and knowledgable. I'm not saying that she's grumpy, just something of an introvert (and my being an extrovert I always feel like I'm doing all the talking and wind up feeling silly that I seem to be performing monologues instead of participating in the usual back and forth :) Oh, and in regards to the reviewer who complained about the barking dogs in the yard...I just don't know what to say. I mean, really? I know. They're barking. We're not all dog folks, but, dogs barking, inside the vet or out, are an inherent part of the business. It's not like the vet can just sit down and reason with them, they're dogs. They bark. And that the dogs are able to get some outside time and fresh air instead of being cooped up in kennels inside in a sterile environment is wonderful; Yes they bark, because that's what dogs do when they're in a new environment; I spend a lot of time at vets, and regardless of WHERE they are, inside, outside, in a kennel, in an exam room, out in the parking lot while getting into the car, they bark. And bark and bark...and bark. And then they bark some more. Some bark more than others, but from what I can tell they bark wherever they are. They ain't happy because they ain't home, folks. But from what I've observed the dogs here are treated just as well, and possibly even better than at any other vet I've ever been to. And that they weren't being watched? Pish posh. It's not like that yard is disconnected from the back of the business, out of view of the vet techs stationed there. Don't get me wrong, I do feel for the locals who didn't have this kind of business's noise prior, but... I guess that's what happens when you buy (or bought, 25 years ago) a house adjacent to one of the busiest and biggest commercial districts/roads in Los Angeles. You win some, you lose some. I guess when it comes right down to it, I'd simply prefer to hear dogs barking outside while getting out and sniffing the fresh air, than the combined noise of them all barking at once in the cavernous interior kennel space of the vet's infirmary. But I digress. I am very glad that this vet opened up on the west side, as we really needed one like this here! TL;DR: This vet = very good! Non-profit, saves lives, kind staff, they put up with me and my cats. Yay!

Dr. Annie is wonderful! She is very knowledgeable but what really sets her apart is her genuine caring and compassion. She really takes the time to understand your pet and I found her to be very thorough. When my pet insurance denied a claim that we felt should have been approved she took the time to email the insurance company on my behalf. Granted the decision has yet to be changed but the effort on her end meant a great deal to me.

I have been to AWC since I got to LA about six months ago and I have received nothing but the best care for my little one. I wouldn’t go to another vet the staff and doctors have been very caring give you all the time in the world to explain everything.

I have been to a few different veterinarians throughout L.A. over the years. Never had a "bad" experience but definitely never had anything to write abouT. Dr. Annie is the best! Her bedside manor is outstanding (she spent almost 45 mins with me and my recently adopted Shiba INU pupy). The cost... worth writing about!!! I have been back twice since, for various issues, and have always had a positive outcome. KUDOS to all of the staff at AWC!!

was given misinformation and was misled by the service staff at the front desk about the same issue on multiple occasions. My dog took flea medication prescribed by the vet and vomited 3 hours later. The person at the front desk told me not to worried and she would call the vet and call me back. the day was ending an I had not heard from her to I called the place. The person who answered this time told me I would have to give him the meds again but she would have to call the vet to make sure. Finally I get a call from the original person and she said the vet said I would have to give my dog the meds again and to come and pick them up. So today I go all the way down there and the girl at the front counter tells me I cant have the meds my dog doesn't need them. the classic runaround. i would stay clear of this place unless you just want to buy product for you pets.
