On hold for 30 minutes only to have receptionist not even attempt to have empathy and listen to my pet emergency, instead cutting me off at every opportunity.

If I was able to give 0 stars I totally would !! Don't bring your pups to this Hospital! I took my 8-month old husky there because she wasn't eating, was throwing up, and had diarrhea and my baby died 2 days later. She was seen by Dr. William Husky and he only suggested a few shots and an X-Ray. She had that done and was sent home with some prescribed medication. Dr. Husky said she was stable and that she had probably eaten something bad to her stomach. My baby was able to walk when we took her that Thursday night and the next day she was super weak. I didn't think much of it because he said she was stable and I figured the medication had her feeling fatigued. I was under the impression she was going to get better and she passed the day after. Before she passed, she began bleeding from her genital area and throwing up. I called the hospital that Saturday, an hour before she passed, so I could speak to the doctor and give him updates on my husky. They told me he wasn't there but that they were going to call him to let him know the status of my dog. When she passed, I called back and all they said was that they were sorry and proceeded to offer me their cremation services. Don’t bring your animals to this hospital!! All they care about is getting paid and nothing else. © Useful 4 © Funny o @ Cool

Doc took the time to listen. Did full work up upon request. Meds prescribed working fine

Great for serious injuries but front staff is incompetent and rude. They give out advice over the phone that only the doctor should give. They give wrong messages to doctors. They left us in the room and forgot that we were there. Totally a joke. But again the doctors are good clinicians; just hard to get to them.

They were so nice; my new 35lb++ puppy ensured I got 2 hrs sleep, till I understood he wanted under the cover! When I dropped him off at the vets in the morning, I Fell Asleep. Receptionist let me know We dont allow people to sleep here! Thanks for increasing my embarrassment!!!! The vet was so nice, so helpful, explained everything to my roommate, until I explained it his my dog only.. She made sure I knew exactly what to do, and we he could return to full activity, My GRATITUDE to her. She Kind patient, and has a sense of humor!! Now that the adoption is complete, I already have a great vet.. So one wants a walk, now!

Aug 2021: Short wait times for med tech visits! Great prices! Full of polite pet lovers! Oct 2021: Walk up tech visits are no longer done minus 1 star for having to now make appointments for a 5 minute visit

The last thing I wanted to do was write a negative review about a vet, but they have left me with no choice. Here it is: Brought my dog in at 10PM on September 22nd. He was in very poor condition, possibly contracted Lepto or K9 influenza. He was in the hospital for 4 days. It has been 10 days and I am still waiting for results from the countless tests that they took. EVERY single time I call them, I get put on hold for a minimum of 10 minutes and the desk staff is beyond rude. I have asked to have the owner, Dr. Shulman call me numerous times and he left me a voicemail once, then never called back or took my calls. They have not called me at all to check and see how my dog is doing. Unfortunately, my dog is not doing well at this point and I will now have to essentially start this process from scratch and take him to a new vet, who actually cares and is responsive. They claim to be an emergency 24 hour vet, yet when my dog was left over night for several nights, there wasn't even a vet (DVM) on staff during these hours.I was told that the vet would be "on call". All they had to do was be more responsive and show a little more compassion, like calling me to heck on my dog's recovery.

The woman who answers the phones is very rude and unprofessional. It’s shame that people like her work at the animal hospital.

Fantastic service and 1/3 of the cost of vets in Manhattan beach.

Our vet of 5 years would not take our dog for an obvious eye infection condition. We were sent to to this veterinarian as a walk in. Sure we had to wait a long time and stupid mistakes were made. End result my pet was seen and treated! During Covid we are all overstressed, under staffed and make mistakes. So far our result has been good and we appreciate that this Animal Veterinary Center at least saw our dog which was more than Overland Veterinary Clinic did. We were pleased with the vet and his assistant (Lindsey was terrific). These are tough times. Lots of people have new pets to keep them company and there is an overload on veterinarians. Wish they could get more staff.

These people literally only care about your money. They won’t listen to what you have to say before letting you know that you have to pay $85 just to come in and have the doctor confirm what you already know is wrong with your dog (i am a returning patient btw). Instead of being helpful, they put me on hold for an hour to speak with someone else.. I told them it was an emergency and the receptionist told me that it doesn’t matter, they don’t have any openings until tomorrow. I have been coming here for 3 years but it seems like the customer service is just getting worse by the day. don’t bring your dog here if you love them.

had an issue with my 6-year-old Chihuahua and for some reason this 24-hour hospital with doctor on site did not have a doctor

We were told our dog was very sick on Sunday and that it was important that we have specific testing done to diagnose the issue. It's now Friday and we still don't have results. My wife called on Wednesday, no info. We've called today a number of times only to be put on hold without anyone asking if we can hold. There's not even a way to leave a voicemail for the vet. Two stars because the doctors are great. Unfortunately the front staff is terrible. Don't waste your money.

These guys took us in when everyone else was at capacity. Our dog was treated by Doctor Jenny Youngblood for a severe kennel cough. She was fast, thorough, and very kind. This is our new go to place for emergencies.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE they only care to take your money and not the care of the pets. My pet was prescribed medication without any lab work, x-rays etc. prescription was based off a 5min visit. I called for fecal results because no one from that office did. Apparently, the staff was under the impression it was never performed yet it was billed and charged with my credit card. Nonetheless, the female that answered the phone was beyond rude with a nasty attitude, she hung up on me when I asked for service quotes. Seek elsewhere if possible.

my cat HATES vets. every vet we’ve gone to has said they can handle him, but then end up making me pay for tranquilizers or anxiety meds for next time. this place knew EXACTLY what to do!!! they were great with him and he actually only hissed twice! they were sweet and responsive and very communicative with me as well, letting me know what they were doing and why they were doing everything. if you have a cat i would very much recommend this place!

Lily my 7 yrs old pitbull has been in pain with her back leg and visit to her general vet did not help at all. So we made an appoint with DR Schulman in West LA. He saw her today sat on the floor and kissed her face first! Lily was in love right away. He examined her legs and decided it's not her Hip, its her knee and she needs a TPLO surgery so he kept her over to do surgery. My poor baby girl. They said she woke up making screams like a bird and she didn't know where is up where is down? They had to sedate her for her separation anxiety. She will be back home tomorrow. It's going to be a long weekend. But I love this doctor. He even was checking my Chihuahua's teeth and heart and wasn't there for a check up. They both took to him right away! what a lovely man. He genuinely loves dogs.

Took my dog in for face wound (walk-in @ 8:30 pm). We were seen immediately, he was cleaned up - diagnosed with tooth infection that ruptured through his face. Gave him an antibiotic shot/ sent home with more meds, got bloodwork going so now we're just waiting on results to ensure surgery is OK. Dog is nearly 16 years old with heart murmur so has its own risks, but both vet and tech were understanding and compassionate, thorough in explanation & treatment options. Was in and out faster than visits to his regular vet (@ a 4.8-rated facility) when we had an appointment. Check-in/check-out staff were nicer & more efficient too!

We like the fact that this Vetenarian clinic has walk ins and open 7 days a week. The wait may be a little longer for walk ins, but the Dr.'s and staff are worth the wait. The staff is knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend Animal Center of Southern California.

I called prior to arriving and was told an abdominal xray can be performed but there would be an hour wait. Got there within 30-45 minutes of the call I placed and was told "we can't help you because we're understaffed". There was one person in the waiting room.

They took care of our pet late at night for an emergency when they were already very busy. They treated us SO kindly and truly cared for our baby. They are wonderful and made things as easy as they could for us in our situation.

I have been client of this place for more than 4 years but today i had the worst experience with the unprofessional and RUDE OFFICE PERSONEL. They made me wait for more than 4 hours to see the veterinarian. They asked me to wait around the building until the contact me on the phone.Never called me and when i return to the office after being around the building waiting for four hours, they lied to me saying that they called me . When I showed them my phone proving they never called me instead of apologize for their mistake they told me i can go to other doctors!!! Of course i will do that!!!!!!
