The Pet Set Long Beach, California

This place is is clean and have separate areas for small and large dogs. Kennels are inside and large. CCTV is advertised but not working. I just have an issue with customer service, nice but lack communication. I initially inquired for doggy daycare and needed specific hour consideration as I was told by my dog walker who apparently knows of the owner that it may be considered. I inquired online and on phone with that information up front. I was told that they would have to ask the manager. I completed all required paperwork and asked to schedule a temperament test. I again reminded that I needed a drop of time a bit earlier and if that would be considered. I was told again that they have to just ask but to go ahead and bring dogs in for temperament test. I was a bit frustrated at this point because if they cannot accommodate, why bring them in? So I bring them in they pass and ask if I want to keep them there for the day. I say sure and again as I’m filling out the contract let them know, I NEED TO KNOW if you can accommodate my needs. I again got the same answer, have to let manager know. At this point it’s like why don’t I have an answer. I come to pick up the dogs thinking I’ll have an answer, NO, I was told the manager will call me. I never received that call, I had to call and really demand an answer. I was told they could not accommodate, which is fine, but I could have already been searching for another place 2 weeks prior. In the future try not to waste customers valuable time. Kindly let them know upfront if you can accommodate. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has asked for an earlier drop off, especially if a friend of the owner thought I’d be accommodated.

We love the pet set!!! They are professional, affordable and patient!! I recently took me Shihtzu terrier mix in who desperately needed a cut. They explained the process to me and also addressed all of my concerns, My pup is little aggressive but Patti did an awesome job on the shave. ????????

I am the son of the trainer here. Although it might seem bias I can assure you that the employers are always trying their best to make sure the dogs are safe and ok. The dogs here get equal amount of outside and inside time. The employees love having new dogs, and it also helps some anti-social dogs imprint on other dogs.

I have been taking my dogs to pester for many years. Groom and boarding and have always been happy with the service. Today I dropped my dogs off at 8:45 and received a phone call 1 hour after dropping them off. I let them know I would pick them up at 12 as I did bot anticipate them being finished so fast. I was told that I would have to pay an extra fee for dog care after an hour window of them being done. They NEVER finish in one hour. Their policy says it will take 2-3 hour window (which I was working within). I had friends at my house for coffee and had to leave to get them. The guy was insistent and rude and had no understanding why I might be frustrated. I will never bring my dogs there to groom or board. I wanted to drop them at 8:45 and pick up at 12 or 12:30. Doesn’t seem outside of their policy.

Unfortunately my pups got kennel cough from here. It should've dawned on me when they didn't ask for my pets records or tighter shots.

I love Pet Set! My dogs get the best care here when I go out of town. I like to schedule a grooming before I pick them up as well so they come home nice and fresh!

Even though my doggo looks sad... maybe because it was his first time at the spa, The Pet Set did great on the grooming service. I called made an appointment same day no problem. Everyone is helpful and kind. Will return.

Always, always the best service and care. I have a 3 yr old golden retriever who loves the dog park and gets dirty easily. At pet set he comes out after grooming, smelling wonderful and soft as can be, and when he's home you can tell he feels relaxed and comfortable. We have had two other Golden's that passed, but took them there as well and the service always for them was exceptional. Love Pet Set!!

Great place to take your pup for a day of play or have them take your pup for a nice walk. Very friendly people and groomers are great!
