Redefined Dog Training Long Beach, California

Tim at Redefined Dog Training was a superb instructor of our puppy Niki. I highly recommend puppy training, owner training and a follow up when the dog is a few months older.

About a year ago I hired Tim Welch to assist with my service dog in the areas of building his confidence, and to work on his fear/ of cats. I asked Tim if he would do a board and train with my dog. Let me be clear, I would not send my service dog to just any trainer out there. I have put A WHOLE HECK OF A LOT of time and money into my dog. I wasn’t blind to his insecurities, and I wanted to address them as to continue with him as my service dog. I could not have sent my dog with Tim if I thought he would mistreat my dog in anyway. I also sent my dog across the country which was nerve racking at first but then comforting to know he was in the best hands. (other than mine of course) I live in Utah and Tim Welch took my boy back to Kansas with him, during the 6 weeks he sent me photos and videos of his progress working with his cat issues. I am happy to report that after the 6 week board and train with Redifined Dog Training; Tim Welch drove him back to Utah and I got my boy Grit back in good health, & more confident; and I got to see my dog work around cats for the first time. I highly recommend Tim Welch as he understands dogs in a way that is truly amazing the amount of dog knowledge this man knows. Highly recommend him for service dog training, puppy training, obedience training, personal protection, French Ring coaching/ and club seminar training, and for dogs that are aggressive and have insecurities. Tim was also extremely affordable. If your sensitive or a purely positive type of person then you probably won’t vibe well with Tim. But if you can put aside your politics & possible sensitivity and if you get the chance to work with this master dog trainer, you’d be a fool to not take that chance. In my opinion of course.

We gave Tim our two dogs who would constantly run outside any chance the moment the door even cracked open. As a veteran with side effects from my service, he trained both of them as service dogs for me, and besides their now willingness to learn, I am most impressed with the boundary training he did. I can now have the door wide open and they will just stand at the door wagging their tails as if there was an invisible wall. After the 6 week in house daily training, him and his team are available for weekly meet ups. Very professional service. I have recommended all of my friends and family to go through him.

Tim has trained 3 of our family pets - two as service dogs. I don’t know if a better trainer. He even (tried) to train us to be better pet parents!

My daughter worked with Roxanne, then Tim to train her young dane and work on his anxiety issues 6-7 years ago. It was so helpful that i reached out to kara to train my 2 yr old rescue dane. That went well. Then I needed help figuring out why he was sporadically getting stressed n snapping at people. Tim picked him up in southern California n took him to Kansas for 2 months. Doug only snapped at 1 person that whole time. But he got a lot of socialization. Now he's more confident, so he's less stressed. Tim showed me what to watch for n how to pull Doug out of a stressful situation before it escalates. Great training. All Tim's dogs love him. Doug was so glad to see him at our follow up lesson. Now it's up to me to keep his confidence up by being a strong leader n working with him often to keep him socialized and comfortable around people. My only hesitation about this process is that it's So expensive. But I'm glad my daughter pushed me to do it.

RDT has been training my service dog for 6 yrs. They did his initial training and then we continued to have them build on his skills. Over the years we have had RDT give himm "tune ups". This is only a review for their rattlesnake aversion classes. I have to say, I was a bit disappointed in this particular company that taught the class. You don’t get to be with your dog when they go through the course. I’ve NEVER heard of …

Hands down the most balanced, effective and knowledgeable group of trainers wether you want basic obedience or something more advanced. Their results tell it all.

Our experience with Redefined Dog Training has been amazing. Tigger was a rescue with some issues but with Tim and his team, we were able to overcome them. When I first received Tigger I knew I would need some help. He was very timid and reactive to other animals during our walks. With Tim’s help and some time he became more confident and mindful while out in public. I have had Tigger for a little over a year now and he goes mostly everywhere with me.

I trained with Tim Welch from Redefined Dog Training for two years to honing my skills as a professional dog trainer. Even after graduating from one of the country’s prestigious dog trainer schools, and even being an instructor at the school, Tim still taught me something new every day that I trained with him. I have had 3 dogs trained by Tim at Redefined Dog Training over the years (between 2003 and this year, 2017). I used to live in So Cal, but moved to Seattle 13 years ago, and now all my dogs travel to So Cal for training by Tim and his crew, because I believe that Tim is the best trainer ever! Tim is the only trainer I have met, who understands and can explain the philosophy and methods of his training techniques. Tim works with all dogs, and all issues, and I have seen him rehabilitate dogs everyone thought were lost because of abuse and neglect. He can work with any dog issue. Tim really and truly understands dogs... and owners...and understands how important the relationship between dog and owner is. I see his training methods as balanced and effective, which help to create a solid connection between the owner and the dog. My dog, Colby, just came home to rainy Seattle, a more confident, better behaved, and more responsive member of the family. Tim and his crew were communicative when Colby was in So Cal; I was able to see picture and video updates of his progress on the Facebook page. I am just as impressed with how well trained my current dog is, as I was when I first met Trainer Tim with my first dog, back in 2003. I will always send my dogs to Tim to be Tim Trained.

Tim, and the rest of the Redefined Dog Crew, have changed my family’s life so much for the better. They trained my two rescue pitties who had some severe aggression issues after being attacked. RDT gave both my dogs the structure and discipline they needed and they gave me the confidence and the support I so desperately needed as well. We did the board and train program and have been back for some specially training as well. Not only did we resolve our issues but both of my boys now have their CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and one is my fully trained service animal, they have also both been through the rattlesnake avoidance class—which I myself enjoyed immensely. I am so incredibly happy with RDT, they have a very loyal customer in me and I recommend them to friends, family, and anyone else who will listen. We can be found doing the pack walks every week we can with our dog crew on 2nd and we wouldn’t have it any other way. My dogs are my family and I wouldn’t trust anyone else.
