I had been taking my cat here for more than 5 years. Everything was great when Dr. Kay was there. I would take him for grooming check ups , vaccinations etc. After the pandemic everyone suffered. They closed and I got sick with covid After I recovered I took my cat for several checkups. This week I noticed that there was something wrong with my cat. I took him in and everyone was very rude and mechanical. To make the long story short I ended being cursed at by Steve (the owner) If you are short of money they will let your pet die ...or recommend euthanasia ... PS The response below ???? is nothing more than a cookie cutter legal answer. I have not abused or neglected my cat. Neither I harassed anybody. The short answer to his response is that he is not truthful.

I’ve been taking both of my cats here for a year or 2. Dr Alyssa, Dr Steve, and Dr Rachel are all incredibly thorough, patient, and knowledgeable. These are qualities I’ve been having trouble locking in with vets I’ve seen in the past. The scheduling staff and tech are always so sweet and helpful. This really makes the experience stress-free for my pets and me. I recommend them to everyone I know with fur-babies!! Thanks you Pine Animal Hospital!! You guys rock!

I am so impressed by Dr. Steve and his staff. They are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and I trust my pets completely under their care. Dr. Steve was able to diagnose my cat after years of us trying to figure out what’s wrong under another vet. After one visit my cat was doing SO much better! He is extremely sincere and looks at the bigger picture. He is also very patient-answering all my questions and concerns. I’m so grateful I found him.. a trustworthy and compassionate vet is hard to come by these days! Highly recommend.

When it comes to caring for your pet, this place comes in last. They claim to be a hospital, but they will not take any pet on an urgent basis. Their protocol for seeing your pet is completely out of whack - first they take forever to schedule you... then they take forever to come retrieve your pet once you've made it to the parking lot... then it takes HOURS for your pet to be seen by a vet (and my dog was very sick). On top of that, you cannot get ahold of a live person to either schedule, let them you've arrived, or have any general questions - it's all by email, text, or voicemail. I've waited so long for anyone to either call me back or text me EVERYTIME. Everything is on their terms. I would recommend bringing your dog or cat somewhere else. They turn people away for no reason just like they did me, and I've been coming here for over two years. I don't trust them with my dog anymore and suggest that you find another vet that cares.

Horrible experience. Completely overcharged us for one medication for a common infection. Never bringing my dog back here. Nothing transparent about this business.

PAH is always professional, clean, and transparent. Dr Steve and his team take great care of both my cats and dogs. Even my dog, who is fearful of men, LIKES going there. The staff take their time and get to know your pet. Love their online system too - makes everything easy! Highly recommend.

We had an appointment and were told we could not be seen today due to being understaffing. Also stated that since we were not there 15 minutes early they would not see us. This was never communicated to us and we have been seen previously with other pets. If your animal is truly sick please do not take your animal here. Horrible customer service. Continued: My fiancé and I decided to give the vet another try regardless of our past experience with office staff. We were informed they would not service us in the future due to unknown circumstances. Refusing service due to a negative review done on google is beyond me. I could understand if we were rude or disrespectful to the staff...but we were not.

From the first call the were rude and unresponsive. Looking for ways for us not to come in. Once we were there we were refused service because their website didn't work. Take your pet to a place that cares or wants to service minorities.

After visiting so many different animal hospitals, this is the best place I found. They are so professional and reliable. I took my dog there since 2018. Every time they take care of her problem the best they could. Thank you to all of their team :)

After moving from FL, I needed to find a vet in Long Beach area, and honestly couldn’t be more pleased with Pine Animal Hospital. They have such amazing front desk staff, the pretty pale girl with the short hair is so sweet and personable, the doctors have been incredible, so receptive and compassionate, the techs are also so rad, very friendly and couldn’t have had a better Vet experience. Wish Tampa, FL vets could take some notes from these stellar awesome people over at Pine! You won’t regret taking your pup, cat, or whatever animal you have, here! I wouldn’t take my boxer, Jade, anywhere else!

Amazingly friendly service and they really care about the animals. The tech worked compassionately to come up with a treatment plan for our cat, and it was so much more affordable than other vets.

We are currently full-time travelers and travel with our little Maltese/yorkie, Daisy. Daisy is an older dog with some health issues which makes it hard to find a veterinarian really willing to take on her care. Daisy started having seizures for the first time last September. Daisy saw a veterinarian in Santa Rosa that put her on an anti-seizure medication that worked for awhile, but after about 6 weeks they started again. Daisy's seizures were frequent and because of her other health conditions some of the medications may be too hard on her to take. Dr. Tamayo really worked with us on a good solution for Daisy to help us get on the road again with her. We found the veterinarian technician and the receptionist to also being kind and thorough. Pine Animal Hospital treated our Daisy like she was a long-time client.

Recently rescued a dog and was looking for a vet in Downtown Long Beach. Extremely easy to set up an appointment. Very reasonably priced for services, AND they have a dedicated parking lot. Dr. Alyssa took the time to talk with us and was not trying to up-sell us on anything as many other vets do. We are happy to have found our pup a new vet!

A neighbor actually warned me about taking my dog here, but I did anyway because it is close to my home and I figured “how bad can they be?” After 5 months I had to switch vets. Besides the continual scheduling problems, there is just a general rudeness and condescending attitude about this place, especially the receptionist. I never really felt that they actually cared about me or my dog, they just seemed to want to get as many animals in and out of the office as they could in a day. I’m sure they are probably competent vets, but if you are looking for more of a “family” vet, this isn’t the place.

Although its hours are limited, Pine Animal Hospital has always treated out pets with great professionalism and care. Employees great us with a smile and even write our animals' names on dry-erase boards outside the exam rooms. Free coffee in the waiting room helps too!

Dr. Steve is personable, professional, and honest. His practice features excellent medical staff and highly efficient office management. Appointment times are real. Virtually no waiting. Very proactive approach keeping owner advised of upcoming due dates for routine tests, exams, etc. No rotating or free-lance Vets. Dr. Steve is The Man.

These people love what they do and it shows. Very caring and reasonably priced. I felt I could trust them with my fur babies from the start. I will be going here from now on. Update: Yet another great visit. Reasonable prices and caring staff.

We are so glad to have a quality vet practice within walking distance in the downtown area! And for drivers, there is a parking lot! The attention of all staff is impressive -- from reminders, detailed answers to questions about meds, use of electronics to explain dog symptoms, etc. Having lab reports, xrays and ALL services under one roof makes a BIG difference! Dr. Steve and all his staff ROCK! And my dogs are healthy and happy!

Customer service I give you an A. 3 Months ago I bought my dogs flea meds, and only 3 months later I refill them and it's nearly 30.00 more!!! that's an outrages increase in price. Think I will look elsewhere!

I started bringing my dog here after he needed dental surgery. From the front desk to the vet they were so kind and walked me through everything I needed to know. They put my dog first and took the best care of him. Thomas is so much happier now. Being a senior dog going into surgery was very nerve racking for me but I know he was in good hands. I have taken him back for shots and an exam and he came out cheerful as always so I’m confident they take good care of the animals in their care.

Pine Animal Hospital is completely unprofessional and cares nothing about your pets. My chihuahua was extremely sick to the point that she was breathing abnormal and so weak that she couldn't stand. I was desperate to find an actual vet that could see her and give the treatments necessary. This clinic wasn't even open when I showed up for help. The receptionist informed me that the doctor wouldn't bother to help my fatigue dog. This sarcastic miserable man came outside to tell us that he was double booked. It wasn't the fact that he supposedly was booked, but the way his attitude was, which showed no sign of compassion or diligence for my situation. I just want the world to know how horrible this place is and be aware that they do not care about your animals' health. Thank God I didn't leave my dog here. Beware!
