Take both of my dogs there. Docs are great amd care about you babies. Definitely recommend.

This clinic is very compassionate with my dog. They offer her comfort to help with her anxiety. She comes out of the exam room a very happy girl.

I definitely don’t recommend this place. I took my dog here and he was sick but not to the point of death. They took him to the back of the hospital without me and he came out dead. Plus the vet was talking to me and my family with attitude and had a lack of professionalism.

I have been satisfied with the professionalism of this veterinary office since I moved here in 2015. Dr. Espinoza has given my dogs excellent care.

The receptionist are always making mistakes. I been told twice that food or medicine was not in stock when it was. Not very friendly staff. Would not recommend vets here

This vet is great. They really care about my pets. Just perfect! I am glad to be able to go in in-person with my cat.

Dr. Luke is amazing. I was extremely nervous about my cat going in for dental work. She explained the procedure and touched base with me through out it. My cat recovered quickly with no issues.

Knowledgeable staff. Dr could time down her attitude a bit ppl are already upset don't need to be grumbled at by a Dr. Having a bad day. Forgiveness but geez tone it down please and thanx

I do not recommend this place anymore. Because of this place my cat didn't get the care she needed and passed away in pain. I have been coming to Dr. Espinoza for a while and he was spaying my cats and doing well with that. Unfortunately, I trusted it him too much to bring in one of my sick cats where she had pneumonia. He gave her the usual antibiotic shot and said she will do fine. I went back home and realized she was not getting better. I called him a couple of hours after that and told him she seemed that she is not doing well. He told me that it will take her a couple of days to be better. As I said, unfortunately, I trusted his words and the worst disaster happened to me after a couple of hours from that call where my cat screamed in pain and died in minutes. I still can't forget this horrible experience, she was young not old, she could've made it with serious attention. After two weeks, another cat of mine got pneumonia and we decided to take him this time to another hospital where they rushed him right away into ICU and put him on oxygen. After a week, he was out and his chest was clear from fluids. I will always blame myself for trusting this place. They are very reckless recently and would not give your pet the care they need, plus they are charging more. They are good at doing neuter and spay only.

Just called with an emergency & they say they cannot see my cat for 2 weeks! I told them the cat won't live that long without help but they refused to take her any sooner. We have taken our pets here for nearly 10 years! Something has changed for the worse! I sm sorely dissapointed in them.

Before I even sat down she said my rabbit most likely had that rabbit sickness before I even said what was wrong! I heard her say to someone in the back that there's a rabbit out there that might be infectious!!! They finally called me in to one of the " money rooms" to wait for Dr. I waited and waited and waited and waited And waited some more. a lost two hours and this was a 24 emergency specialty clinic!!! I couldn't wait any longer I needed a vet. So I got up with my bunny and said goodbye. can't wait any longer.

So thankful I was able to get urgent, compassionate care from Pet Hospital of La Mesa! My almost 15 year old Papillon fainted over the weekend and began to have very labored breathing and significantly reduced energy level. First thing Monday morning I called my vet of many years and could not reach anyone (no answer, no call back). I called several other vets nearby, and they either weren't accepting patients or could not get me an appointment for a week. Thankfully I got in touch with Pet Hospital of La Mesa! First I spoke with Mika, who was incredibly sweet and sympathetic about the stressful situation and the fact that I had not been able to get anyone to see my dog urgently. Mika immediately set to checking schedules of the doctors on staff that day and was able to fit me in with an emergency appointment the same morning. I was very fortunate to have a chance to meet with Dr. Benedek. She was quickly able to examine my dog and determine that she had a heart murmur and significant fluid in the lungs with very high breathing rate. Not only was Dr. Benedek very compassionate for my dog, she was also empathetic to my financial concerns. She patiently walked through the costs associated with trying to further diagnose the health issues and the potential treatments. She helped me proceed with a treatment plan that I agreed with and that was within my budget. She answered all of my questions and concerns. After several days we began to see some improvement with my dog's health thanks to the treatments. I called to share the progress, and I was very pleased to get responsive communication from Dr. Benedek to determine the best next steps to proceed with treatment. I simply couldn't be more pleased with the experience I've had with Pet Hospital of La Mesa. They have been a great help to both my dog and my family. I know where I will be going for all future pet needs!

I took my 5 mo old puppy at 11pm & from what the tech advised that my puppy didn't have life threatening symptoms and is good to go home and heal basically turning us away, NO CARE at all for our fur baby come to find out my puppies toes were all broken and the middle toe broken in 2 places poor guy was hurt and they showed no concern, thanks to singing hills for taking care of our little guy

Kathy, in the front office, has been thru all the ups and downs with me and my pets. She is so caring and encouraging. ❤

Great and affordable vet care, my senior cat never has to wait to be treated (with an appointment) and she always gets the attention that she deserves, besides the staff is very welcoming with an outstanding customer service. We will definitively keep on coming here

Worst experience ever. The doctor added on to the bill without authorization. I had told her no clearly before I had left my dog. She didn't even bother to call or update. She also quoted me incorrectly for blood work. The doctor spoke to me like I was stupid but I would have never agreed to the work that she recommended if it was more than the price that she literally wrote down on the paper. Such lies and very unprofessional. I feel scammed, belittled and so frustrated. I don't even know what to do. I have never once left a review for anytype of establishment but this was not right at all. Please don't bring your pets here.

I brought Birdie to see Dr Leto in preparation for a move out of state. Dr Leto was knowledgeable, kind, and responsive and made sound and effective recommendations.i credit she and Dr Espinosa for helping Birdie have quality of life in her senior years.

The staff here are all amazing! They truly care about my pet & are knowledgeable. So happy I have them to turn to when my little dog is in need of medical care. It's very comforting!

My regular vet of 10+ years couldn't see my cat, the one they know very well!! It was urgent! They said no! I'm moving on with La Mesa Pet Hosp! They're not manic like my usual vet, it's calm, & the Dr. even picked up & walked away with my 22lb, Mainecoon that would bite me if I tried that! Awesome place!

They got our new puppy who wasn't feeling well in right away when other vet hospitals wouldn't. We Love them

Yeah, I'm over bringing my dog here. I bring him for shots, then oops, we did a full exam and he needs labs now. I get quoted 75 bucks on the phone, then they want to hand me a $300+ bill. I'm going somewhere else from now on. They were good for years, it just seems like covid hit and the policies changed. The staff is very friendly so that's why the 2 stars.

Drove to 5 animal hospitals in la mesa, all said "sorry we dont take walk-ins!!!" Insane, what do you do when your pet is dying?

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND When you know its a new customer it would have been good to let them know they’ll be waiting outside in the parking lot and you’ll be taking their pet without them especially if the pet had high vet anxiety which you were already informed of. And on top I had my small baby with me. Its just common sense to let new customers know this essential piece of information. Also you were informed of the previous vet 4 days prior to the appointment yet you called the vet when we arrived for the appointment in which you were told it would take 2-3 hours and you couldn’t see the pet till the information came through. Disorganized Unprofessional And bad communication with customers.

This place is wonderful. They're friendly and always on top of everything!
