Worst place. Only care about the money not your pet..people beware of Dr. Ahmed he does not know what he's doing.. First and last time I will ever step foot there..

We have an American Akita and have endured difficult experiences with other veterinarian visits. At the Hesperia Animal Hospital we appreciated their focus on our concerns. Along with effective illustration of the procedures necessary for proper diagnosis(which allowed us to understand the process completely), the vet also provided an understandable game plan that reassured us our beloved family member was in good hands in terms of fixing the root cause of our concerns. There was a long wait time, but that is expected with most places and is easily worth the trade off for effective diagnosis /treatment. We highly recommend others give Hesperia Animal Hospital a chance if they are looking for a clinic to service their beloved animal and a staff who appears to care for their patients.

I want to say that the Hesperia Animal Hospital is beautiful and spacious for animal patients and owners. Unfortunately, the wait times are sometimes excessive, but there may be a reason behind closed doors. Pretty much all of the staff, both in the front and the back, are incredible and friendly. Beware of Dr. Erick Ballesteros. I am not sure if he was having a bad day or something going on in his personal life. However, he was very insensitive, unempathetic, and not understanding during our visit. We had brought our cat in for a follow-up that Dr. Ballesteros wanted. So, a few minutes in, we asked him about various tests and "Why not this other test?" and "How much does that cost?" type questions. He seemed to take the questions very personally or as an attack and felt threatened because he accused us of being confrontational and refused to service our cat any longer. It seemed he did not understand that we are stressed, in uncharted territory, and worried about the extraordinary costs that follow. I admit, maybe some of the questions could have been worded better, but it seemed over the top how Dr. Ballesteros took them and the drama that ensued. He then rudely opened the back door where the backroom staff was and said they were "witnesses that our cat is to be treated elsewhere." During all of this, I am worried that my cat will suffer because of the unnecessary inconvenience caused. He also withdrew the prescription for insulin that was supposed to have already been written during the previous appointment. If anything, we felt that he was, in fact, confrontational after it was over. I wish this business well, and I hope this was just an off day for Dr. Ballesteros. Otherwise, I worry about his ego reflecting negatively on this facility and its business operations. Update: We tried to speak with Dr. Ahmed about this issue, and he had someone from the front desk call us to tell us they would not be taking our cat back in for his case of diabetes.

Do NOT go here. Went in for a second opinion for an injury to a cat where we were told she would not make it and this place said the 1st opinion was absurd. This vet said the cat would have a long recovery but was positive the cat likely survives. 5 days later the stench was horrible and we made another visit and he gave her an antibiotic injection, free of charge as he knew the kitty would die. Went back today and was told she was severely infected and should be put down. The vet blamed us when we rely of his expertise and ethics to care for an animal. $2000 down the drain for the initial surgery and the cat was suffering. The vet wanted us to amputate her leg for another $1600. When we passed, he suggested they could euthanize her for $400. Found another place for $50. We'll NEVER see this vet and neither should anyone else. Unethical vet. They take advantage of the unfortunate circumstances of people and their emotions.

Absolutely horrible communication and care. Drove all the way from Irwin for a doctor who can't be bothered to stay in the room or put proper notes in the chart. Got one call saying the blood work looked great but we need you to come in to talk to the doctor. When I asked why they said they could just call me back. Then it proceeded to be a series of we needed to come in and wait no we don't Oh yes we need you to come in no wait We have your prescription no wait we can't get your prescription no wait we've got to call out your prescription no wait let's fax your prescription. The place looks nice on the outside but the care and communication here is really really sad.

My initial thoughts were low. And proceeded to get lower. My Corgi had been very ill for at least three weeks prior to our visit. The Vet listened to pets heart looked at his gums, his eyes and announced he was in fair shape for his age. He wanted blood taken and x-rays. I could not afford the x-rays. I tried to get across to the vet how ill my Corgi was, having not eaten for several days. “Oh he’s over weight, he can loose a few pounds.” “We take his blood, send it to lab, and tomorrow by noon you call for results.” I called. No results, non-until a person called, who did not identify herself. She said the vet said your dog is diabetic. Bring him in Monday morning. (No time was given) I knew my Corgi would never see Monday. He didn’t. He began drinking water desperately, and couldn’t keep any of it down. He would struggle to get to water. It was terrible to watch! He could not stand by this time. I began searching for vet emergency services. I found one (understand I had spent $426, at Hesperia Animal Hospital) I don’t have this kind of money normally, but my brother had just died, I’d been sent some money to go to his funeral. And now I had to spend more going to an emergency service which would cost more! They took my Corgi in, saw him almost at once. This vet also wanted blood test and x-rays. I told them I couldn’t do X-rays. And signed paperwork for my pet to get started. They said to go home, they would call. Their blood work was in house, and would get done in less than an hour. Well they too confirmed Corgi was diabetic. But also found; keto acidosis, pancreatitis, his blood Ph was wrong, his Kidneys were failing, he was dehydrated and the list went on… I asked, “so giving him insulin on Monday? Would it have helped? The vet almost choked, “Monday? The other vet expected him to last until Monday? He would not last until then. Not without ICU and that starting right now! And a secondary bank account with about 5K in it. And even that may not save him!” I stopped her. “I can’t do it. Let him go. I don’t have the money and he has suffered enough.” He died Saturday afternoon.

We had a great experience here for our cat’s spay. We were able to get an appointment very soon (MUCH sooner than anywhere else in the area) and were welcomed warmly. The doctors took excellent and the entire ordeal was much faster than our last cat’s spay. She came home looking much better than our other cat from another hospital in the area previously and is recovering much faster. The prices are higher than other’s in the area but the quality of service is shown so I do recommend this hospital for spaying/neutering.

The cost of tests and medications I paid for both my dogs came out to $2000. The doctor rushes through explaining the results and answering my questions. He has also mixed up describing tests results with the right dog before. I’m disappointed because I’ve been committed to this vet and would have liked the same respect and treatment back for my dogs. Some of the front desk staff are amazing and the waiting area is clean. The waiting room grooming area is dirty and the groomer can only do so much as she is the only one busy caring for the dogs (she does a great job!)

When my dog swallowed a whole toy another vet diagnosed him with pancreatitis even after x-rays, we brought him to this hospital and they were able to find the obstruction and got him into surgery so fast. The staff is comforting and wonderful and we could not be more grateful! They saved the life of our friend

My son's dog was attacked by a Coyote. Took it to this Vet, who quoted 400.00 $. Picked it up the next day, and he would not release the dog for less than 700.00$ I took my new cat to him before that. It had worms. It bit him. He told me, he never wanted to see the cat again. What kind of a Vet is that.??? Also his boarding is up in the attic. There is no circulation. It stinks so bad, I would not leave my dog there. ???? Horrible Vet, who should not be a Vet. ????????

The doctors and staff at Hesperia animal hospital really care. I had 4 cats I rescued spayed/ neutered at another vets where the contracted a deadly virus. The other vet didn't care so I went to Hesperia animal hospital and man did they try hard to save my fur kids. We lost all four of them and one of my older kitties but they explained what they had and did EVERYTHING possible to save my kitties. This was a VERY deadly virus and even Dr Ahmed was frustrated trying to fight it. I will always recommend them, their place is clean, they care, and if it's a emergency they get you in ASAP. They are a top notch veterinary hospital. Thank you for all you did to try and save my fur kids.

went today for my dogs ear infection , recently moved up here , and I assumed this hospital had the best ratings and reviews. I was wrong , my girlfriend and I go , dogs a Frenchie btw , for a simple ear infection, and Dr. Ahmed was charging us 900$ to put him to sleep , plus the visit , plus this and that , all this weird additions, like dude we’ve been to other vets for his ear and never it has been that high of a charge or had these additions. You know we love our animals and we’ll pay anything to help , but this is taking advantage.

Thor office girl was very nice. The Dr seemed nice. I just could not afford the price for just finding out if there was anything wring. Over a grand for just the tests. I just do not know what to do. I feel like I need to have my pet checked to see if it's big or just upset stomach. But on a fixed income that is cost prohibitive. But the place was very clean and well cared for. Maybe I can find one with less overhead who can help me. I'm at a loss.

Brought my dog in because his teeth are bad, and it set up an infection. I was told by this office previously that my dig might not survive the surgery but this doctor said he would clean and remove his teeth.. The issue is the bill is well over 1080.00 which I. Cant afford at this time. t I was also told that my dog would not be given anything for pain or antibiotics because he isn't having the procedure done. Now my baby is home basically dying. I'm off work due to covid and have no income to cover the cost or get insurance. It's all about money and not the life it..

Get a prescription from them & get your drugs elsewhere. In addition to the other charges I paid $95- for 2 eye medications I could have purchased from Rite Aid for $12 each.

If I could give a nonstar I would. Very unhelpful. And won't try to work with you at all. If you can't be there before 3pm don't even bother. I got my kitten slayed there and they weren't even going to give her antibiotics or pain meds. Not even a cone. Everything is for the greater dollar. When I went back to get her stitches removed I had to wait over an hour and only in certain times. I had to call off work to get them removed because they won't see her to do the removal only on certain times. And then made me wait over an hour to get it done. Im.glad this isn't my normal vet I only went here because of civid and no one else is doing spaying or neutering. I would never come back waste of time and a waste of money.

Had an appointment today at 2 00pm. One that I made 2 weeks ago for an ear infection my dog has! Got to the hospital and there was a sign saying they were not open or taking their appointments due to Covid! I'm not an unreasonable person and I do understand they need to be safe due to the Covid. What I don't understand is the lack of professionalism and concern that they exhibited by not calling to let me know my appointment was canceled, so I could have my dog treated somewhere else!! That is the reason for a 1 star rating!

A while back, my small dog was attacked by a dog 3x his size and ended up badly injured. His jaw was completely broken and my family was considering putting him down due to the expenses that we knew the surgery would cost. We went through with the operation because we just could not bear to lose our baby and the doctor was so gracious to lower the price of our original quote. Not only did he save my dog’s life, he also helped our family save so much money on his surgery. My dog, Scout, is now fully recovered and my family and I will forever be grateful to the staff and especially the doctor for everything they have done for us.

RECOMMEND 100% Took my moms 16 year old cat to get euthanized because she stopped moving, eating and responding a few days ago. I decided to stay with her while she was getting euthanized and I could tell the doctors truly care for the animals. They gave her a sedative to insure it was painless and petted her the entire time they were giving her the shots. The compassionate way they treated my pet made the entire experience just a little less sad which made my whole family feel better about sending our kitty to heaven.

Not the most professional or the cheapest. Had to pay additional $200.00 for my spay and neuter despite having $200.00 in county vouchers for my two pups. However $70.00 was for microchip. No instructions given as to when to return for follow up. Was going to feed them later that night but found out no food or drink till in the morning. Tech asked if I had gotten instructions prior to the surgeries which I hadn’t. Offered to donate lots of medical supplies they could have used but had me waiting way too long so I put them back in my car. They didn’t seem to care at all. I’m sure I’ll find a more professional and appreciative vet clinic.. not getting my vote for best in the desert 2019!!!!
