They were superb when my cat fell sick. Can not emphasize how grateful I was for their swift professional and kind intervention.

Compassionate, caring. We are lucky to have them on the coast. Reasonable pricing.

I took my dog in for a maintenance teeth cleaning, at the vet’s recommendation, and 39 days later she was dead. She was completely disoriented and confused following the surgery. When she became lethargic, I called out of concern. I took her in and after “checking her”, running no tests, he said there was nothing wrong with her. He asked one question — did she get in to marijuana? NO. She became much worse and I took her back in that same week. A different vet, a woman, saw her and she did X-rays and blood work. The blood work came back the next day with GN, renal failure. From happy, rambunctious, loving dog to disorientation and confusion to renal failure. She died 10 days later. Not one call. Not one ounce of empathy. Inconsiderate staff. I wouldn’t recommend this veterinarian practice to anyone.

Good service, caring staff but very overpriced. They charge for every little thing, and a lot. The bill gets high easily.

We recently were vacationing at The Sea Ranch in CA. Arriving from Sparks, Nevada our dog suddenly fell ill with a post surgery complication. In a panic, we connected with the Gualala Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Pfeil and his staff. Wow, what a completely amazing team they are! Our dog needed emergency care requiring her to stay in their clinic for an afternoon receiving intravenous fluids and an antibiotic push. When we picked her up after her stay she was noticeably improved. Dr. Pfeil called us a couple of times post emergency care to check on her which was most impressive, unexpected and appreciated. Further, when we decided to end our vacation early due to our dogs health, he recommended we stop in before we left on the long drive home for a medication to stimulate her to eat. He came out to our car to personally check on our dog, listening to her heart and lungs as we still had some concerns about her overall age and health condition. He advised that before we started our drive home and because our follow up appointment with our vet in Reno wasn't until Saturday, that the leg bandage applied earlier be changed. He also noticed that she needed a boost of hydration and electrolytes which were administered before we left. Now today we received an email with a complete write up of his findings and actions taken to share with our local vet. Dr. Pfeil and his team, in our estimation, went above and beyond the call of duty for a dog which was not a current patient. We were blessed with Dr. Pfeil and his team taking us in and providing expert care for our 12 year old dog. Without hesitation or reservations we wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Pfeil and the Gualala Veterinary Clinic.

While on vacation from Oakland, we had to find a vet for our 17 YO dog. Due to the pandemic, all the places we called were not taking new clients. The Gualala Vet Clinic gave us a same day appointment that I suspect was during their lunch break. They were kind and the assessment we got when the Doctor came out to see us was extremely thorough. He didn’t just focus on the issue we brought our pup in for, but wrote up a head to toe. Thank You!

We were on a trip from bay area up north and our dog's paws had become irritated. We called ahead and stopped at the gualala vet and they were able to fit us in and they had all the covid precautions in place. The vet, the techs, all the staff were fantastic. We got treatment and medicine and left with a cone around our dog's head. I highly recommend them. Their time and hours are limited so check that first. While you are there at the vet, in the next block of stores is a really good place for fish and chips I think called seafood shak.

My pet rat very suddenly started having balance and sensory issues and ended up having to be put down which of course was very hard for me. The staff was incredibly kind, supportive, and comforting during the entire process. I think because I had mentioned I was a student working on a local ecological survey they made the entire process free, not even charging me for the emergency appointment. I was so torn up at the time that I don't think I properly thanked them for this kindness so I'm hoping this review can remedy a small part of that.

I was charged $280 for a food allergy shot for my dog. The same shot with Spirit Veterinary is $160. The difference is exorbitant and outrageous. Furthermore one of the receptionist is utterly unpleasant!

We have a place at Sea Ranch and found ourselves away from our typical pet doctor. Sadie had been to the Santa Rosa vet only days before for a nasty infection and licking abscess on her foot. As it happens, because dogs can't talk it often takes a couple tries to get to the right diagnosis. She was licking STILL and it was getting nasty after the first visit to her regular vet. An emergency - we needed to get in. The office was quite friendly and accommodated us for the next AM. We arrived - we got the paper work settled and they took Sadie in (because of the pandemic). She was scared of course. The doctor came out after awhile and explained that he thought she might have a foxtail up in her "finger" in her paw. He asked permission to sedate her and go looking for what was there if anything. Long story short....he found what the first vet missed. It happens. She indeed had a foxtail and they removed it and showed it to us. Poor girl. She was in pain the first night home. We gave her her meds and she settled down. The NEXT DAY she was 75% and the day after 90 and a few days later she is really happy. The original blotchiness / allergy issues are still working their way out but the big issue is resolved. And we will be in touch with Pfeil if they don't resolved after the meds course. We found Dr. Pfeil, professional, caring, responsive and frankly would consider him to be Sadie's doc of record if it were not so far...but we might switch anyway. Also Keelyn - the veterinary assistant was very helpful. Friendly, caring compassionate. These folks love animals - it is obvious.
