Duane is an incredible trainer! He is clear and direct, he knows exactly what will improve a dog’s behavior, and he’s got decades of experience on what works and what doesn’t. His book is also great! Highly recommend.

My girl Zuma displayed many bad habits that were becoming worse in a short period of time. Walking her was a chore. She lunged; snarled; barked; and would literally to spins in mid air to try to reach any other dog that was in her line of vision. She became very dominant in our house with the other two dogs that we have. She, without provocation would corner and attack either one of our dogs at any given time. My husband and I wondered if she had some sort of genetic defect as we have never had an Aussie that displayed such aggression. The last straw was after she bit our pool man. We knew we had to take drastic measures. I researched many trainers, and read their reviews, still I wasn't a convinced that they would be able to effectively train Zuma. I came across Duane. I read every single review. He has experience working with dogs that demonstrated the same behaviors. The owners of these dogs couldn't say enough good things about Duane. We took a chance. He is not your average dog trainer and his prices are on the higher side HOWEVER, he is worth every single dollar! Zuma stayed with Duane and his family (and other dogs) for 3 weeks (day & night). We were able to visit but kept it limited so that we did not interfere with the work that he was doing with her. Zuma is a very stubborn and smart dog and she responded well to Duane's training. She is so much calmer; a lot less reactive; she is a pleasure to walk. Even our neighbors cannot believe that she's the same dog. She is still spunky but not aggressive at all. Duane has educated us on how we played a part in exacerbating Zuma's bad behaviors. He's given us tips and explained in detail what we should do at home with Zuma to keep the unwanted behaviors from resurfacing. Thank you Duane! You have a true gift and we are so happy that we took a chance with you.

Duane is so amazing! We have two Belgium Malinois puppies that we took for training/ boarding. They knew absolutely nothing and would not listen to us no matter what we tried. There was one point where we thought this type of dog really wasn’t for us. If you know anything about Belgium Malinois then you know it’s not your typical dog, and they needed so much work. One of our dogs wouldn’t even let us put a leash on her to go on a walk and would cry so loud that it was almost embarrassing to even take her out. Let me tell you that when we got our dogs back from boarding they made such huge improvement from finally being able to walk on a leash to actually listening to the commands we gave them. It’s almost as if he gave us back two completely different dogs. He is worth every single penny, especially if you don’t have the time to train your dog yourself. Thank you so much Duane! My dog Wally (10 months at the time) did a 1 week board and train with Duane. I am forever grateful to him as he gave me the tools I needed to give Wally the confidence to overcome his fears and to help him on his way to achieving the milestones and skills that have made him into the most amazing companion. Wally is near perfect on a leash now, shows no fears of big city streets, and his recall has become outstanding. Duane is light years beyond a dog trainer. Duane is worth every penny! He is very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain why some behaviors might be occurring and offers suggestions to resolve them. My dogs were immediately responsive to Duane's techniques and demeanor. He is very conscientious and responds quickly to phone calls and texts Duane has my highest recommendation. We took our 6 month old boarder collie puppy for some help and the first class we learned so much. We are going to keep taking her back to Duane.

I took max mt gsd/ huskie a while back to get training for lack of socialization, took on to duane pretty well still a work in progress but alot better will take again soon

Duane is amazing! We recently adopted a 2 year old German Shephard from the shelter and we wanted to give our new addition the best. After the first 2 hour session the difference was unbelievable. He started as a dog pulling on the leash and by the end if the session, he was walking at a heel. We left with tools to continue through the week. We chose to sign up for 5 lessons and we are looking forward to building on each week.

We have a 10 month old english bulldog puppy who was highly rambunctious. He got very excited around other people and it was becoming impossible for me to control him on a leash as he grew bigger. I was often left with blisters on my fingers from pulling so hard on the leash to keep him from jumping on strangers. It was so embarrassing when we had company over because he would not stop jumping on company. We previously did 12 weeks of training classes with him at a big box store including private lessons, but we hadn't made too much progress. Matters became more complicated when we took in a 1 year old shepherd/husky mix rescue. We basically had to either separate them, or spend every minute standing over them and watching them so that their play didn't get too rough. We became extremely overwhelmed and desperate. We found Duane online based on his reviews. After speaking with him first on the phone, we decided to move forward with a 2 week board and train program. We were a bit nervous, but when the dogs came home they were so much more relaxed and calm around each other. Our bulldog puppy actually listens now. We are still in shock by how much better behaved they are now. We can now take them both out together on a leash and have them around other people. At home they are the best of friends. If they start to play a little too rough, a simple "no" calms them down. This has so dramatically improved the quality of our life. We enjoy them so much now, rather than constantly feeling overwhelmed. I highly recommend Duane to any frustrated doggy parent.
